I think by june 1st we will have a leak. This album is so huge and will be given to so many people to review that it will probably leak. I personally hope it doesn't, because I will be tempted to get it. I really want to just buy it, pop it in my car, and drive home listening to it for the first time. It will take so much will power to not listen to it if it leaks.

Of course it will leak. Hundreds of thousands of copies will be manufactured and shipped around the globe to countries that will surely have questionable security measures in warehouses. Someone will get a copy and leak it eventually.

I don't care if it leaks. I've pre-ordered from I-Tunes so presumably it'll arrive shortly after midnight on the 12th, but I won't be listening to it until the late afternoon when I get home from work.

 

I don't want to listen to it in chunks (the band keeps saying it needs to be heard in it's entirety!)... I don't want to be distracted by other stuff whilst listening in my car... I just want to come home, close the curtains, curl up in bed and soak up what I'm sure will be a classic album - no distractions, just me and my favourite band.

 

Will probably have to get up to dance around the bedroom when Viva La Vida comes on though!

Viva will be on torrent sites on the 11th AT LEAST because that's the Japanese release date.

By the time it has leaked, you can just as well wait for the release date.

I don't see it leaking weeks in advance.

I think it will leak very close to the release date, in fact I think it will be in the release week, if I have to predict an exact date I'll say 9th or 10th June. (Hope I'm wrong and it turns to be sooner)

Every day I log in and think to myself "this is gonna be the day the leak is out" and it never is. Well, before we know it they album will be out! Less than a month now.

Okay, so the album has been given to journalists and such for reviewal, right?

 

What's to stop any of them from ripping it and uploading it?

i have to say, i'm at the point where i don't mind if it doesn't leak. it's what, 19 days away? i can wait that long, definitely. as much as i want it, i would have rather it leaked a month ago, even though that's barely possible.

I'm guessing it won't leak. X&Y never really 'leaked', it appeared on-line as soon as it was sold in Japan (or some other Asian country). I think the days of high profile releases leaking months in advance are over. They learned their lesson. And the 'time to market' of cd's has gone down too the last couple of years. CD's no longer lie in warehouses months before the release.

I think it's to prevent parallel import in Japan, but I could be wrong.

I just found out the week VLV comes out is Exam week. A bit bittersweet there.

I'm glad it didn't leak a long time before the release date, it ruins the sales and kind of takes away from the fun of listening to an album for the first time.

Oh no, it would ruin the sales, oh poor coldplay. Let's all buy the album to help this small indie band. They can't even afford guitars, amps or even guitar strings for that matter... I read Buckland played with 5 strings on his guitar during the recording of VLV.

This time next week you might see a leak.. possibly the weekend before june 12th.

 

If they do have the album promos on disk.. there is a slight possible chance.. but it seems like reviewers are being pretty cautious with them these days.. at least to a few groups.. and I know EMI has been pretty lock and key with Coldplay albums...

 

I remember (correct me if i'm wrong) that X&Y was sent to reviewers on iPod and monitored while they listened to it.. seems like they are not doing that this time so it is a possibility it might leak.. who really knows
