Since when do we treat noobs like this?? If I'd gotten this crap when I joined, I'd have never come back (not that I or anyone else would be missed apparently). The reaction here is fucking disgusting...it's enough to make ME want to leave!! We should all be ashamed of ourselves. I've never seen so much animosity as I have since VH came out, and for a bunch of Coldplay fans this is pretty fucking pathetic!

 

I don't agree with a lot of what low is saying about thew record, but so what?? It's a Coldplay forum. People are going to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly...welcome to life!

 

My only complaints are too many threads, and this really should have been elsewhere. Other than that, what th3e hell is the problem here? I didn't see this guy burning babies or flaming any0ne on here...Jesus!

i kind of started coming here when X&Y came out, and i felt disapponted with the new style. I wanted to know what other people thought, and to share my feelings. I think this site has, or had (i´ve been away for a long time), the best community i´ve ever seen.

 

Never the less, I´ve read some of low´s posts, and i think he was a bit agressive in the way he said things. After all, it´s quite obvious that if you come to a band´s forum, most of the fans there are a bit "superficial", and tend to like a song whatever it sounds like.

 

Speak your mind, but be respectfull. When something new comes out, people are excited and have much expectation about it. They can either hate it, or love it. People who loved it wont like the other ones to bash it, it´s a rule. Maybe it´s because of your dissapointment that you became angry, and spoke like that, and i think you were expecting a lot of people to agree with you, in which case, you weren´t so different from the others.

Low - I think what is hard to swallow is not that you dislike the new direction, its how you think only your preference for music is any good and the rest of us do not know what we are talking about. the Life in Technicolor you saw was probably just the jam session that started to create the song. A lot of great artists just "jam" meaning they just start playing, try a few things and usually can shape the "jam" into a song if desired. Like I have said before you obviously don't play in a band or even play an instrument for that matter, and well....thats fine.

 

Also your classification of what you think the new stuff is is just plain wrong. Its not hip hop...at all....its far from Jay Z, Kanye West, Timbaland or any of the other idiots we are cursed with here in the states.

 

Your definately allowed your own opinion but you refuse to discuss your views with anyone you just simply state them and alot of members have called you out when your just plain wrong....yet you refuse to aknowledge it.

 

Yes most of us love the old Coldplay, but if they just continued to write the same way everytime there would be some other bonehead like you in here telling us how Coldplay is just doing the same thing over and over. If you don't like the direction music is going learn to play an instrument, make your own music then at least you'll have something you like.

 

Oh on a final note. You rip on synth and keyboards and call it "computer music". Well I hate to break it to ya but ANY instrument can be played on a keyboard not just synths or orchestral instruments, you could play bass guitar and electric, even acoustic with just a keyboard if you wanted so your computer music bash isn't really fair. I guarentee they didn't use any computers to make these sounds we have heard so far...it's not their style.

i saw one of your posts where you made a comment something like, "well oasis didn't start using synths and sell out" .... are you implying that using synths is "selling out"? because i dont understand that reasoning at all. do you consider the beatles "sold out" for using synths? or u2? or any other thousands of bands that do as well? because I consider "Viva La Vida" a very beatles-esque track. realize that all of the tracks on the album are going to sound very different from one another... look at violet hill compared to viva la vida ... a beautiful song is a beautiful song, regardless of what instruments (synthesized or not) are being used to create it.

I'm sure your post is still here (somewhere) but indeed, I agree.

 

Everyone on here are allowed and encouraged to speak their mind and not get attacked. We are all entitled to freedom of speech and self-expression of thoughts and ideas and believe it or not, not everyone will have the same thoughts. Of the 30,000 + fans on here, it's bound to happen that some will have an opinion that differs from others.

 

Just think, what if the same thing that's happened here, happened to you? It really is enough to make you leave a forum - and to leave such a great forum like Coldplaying, that's just sad...especially since this really is the number one place for Coldplay fans. After reading Low's posts, I was initially perplexed and quite irritated, but I'm not going to run him out of the forum. We're all allowed to share what we think. Just as long as you back whatever you say up, especially if you make provoking statements that will get a response. Say what you think, it's what makes this place great, that and our love for Coldplay of course :D

Seeing as this thread is about "The End" and it is in the "Coldplay" section, maybe we should start discussing when Coldplay, the band, will end. Any thoughts? Or is that too depressing to even contemplate right now?
