i've had this feeling too many times and it's come to nothing, so personally i tend to ignore them these days. but i do feel like they have to tell us their plan for the non-album tracks soon if they're going to be released before approximately july. i just want to know when and how! that's the thing i want to know more than anything.

i felt that 42 was going to leak... but well... as you can see... no 42. *sigh*

as much as i want something to happen i just as much dont want something to happen. i love when everything gets all exciting and something leaks but im so nervous that all of these songs being released someway or another are gunna spoil the album for me! i think that's why im really hoping the song in greys isnt lovers in japan... because if it is that would mean we've heard like half the album! idk i just hope no more songs are released until the album. however i do agree with chelsea... i would like some news on the extra songs! just no more song releases (unless its a bside) please!

I definitely agree with the idea of not hearing any more album songs, and personally I've decided NOT to listen to anything else from the album, if it doesn't leak all at once. we've heard 4 or 5 songs out of the 13 on the album, and thats enough for me. I can wait the rest of the way.

But yes, if they were to start leaking NON album tracks, then bring it on! That way we get new (and I assume great) music from them, without having the album spoiled anymore. I'm also, like you guys, keen to find out how and when they'll be releasing these "Flotsam and Jetsam" songs, because I'm sure they're all really good.

 

And I've learned not to trust my instincts on this one. As Thom Yorke says, "just because you feel it, doesn't mean its there".

in regards to wanting something to happen - for a while i wanted to hear the new songs, but i think thats just because we've been so spoiled with this new stuff. how many bands give you two different songs from their upcoming album, non-leaked?

 

im impressed with all the new stuff, but i think it might be smart to not listen to anymore new stuff that may come out, because there won't be that new album feel...its already probably somewhat gone anyways.

 

i would listen to the b-sides though, although i doubt theyll release any before the album, because if they do well they might feel dumb for not putting them on it...there's still the double album or two albums in a few months idea floating around (i paraphrase, but they said the bands working on new stuff in the emi release a week or so ago). maybe we'll get some of those songs they talked about before.

Im torn on the whole issue of wanting more leaks and not wanting any.... I agree that the album may lose a little of its lustre if there are anymore. I just wish I could pay $9.99 extra to get the whole album a week or two in advance! Id gladly pay a premium just to slide my knife across the tape that unlocks a freshly made, shiney new CD!!!!! And wouldnt it be a shock if the 2nd CD (named Death and All His Friends) inside was slap full of b-sides for us all!

I hate to break it to you... but at the Listening Party they had the gatefold cardboard casing on the table.... one side held the cd.. the other side held the booklet.

Sadly they wouldn't let me touch the actually case. That was how anal they were with it all.

So I couldn't see anything except the cover with it open and the empty spot where the cd would be held.

I gotta say, i pretty much agree with everyone here (I know...interesting, aren't I?).

 

The thing is, I don't know, I, for some reason feel like something is going to happen soon. The fact that nothing happened on the 21st is VERY interesting to me. Because it was freaking DAVE who said it.

 

Also, I'm with Semy. I currently have everything we've gotten access to, whether through iTunes, Coldplay.com, leakage, or Greys. I'm not listening to ANYthing else, unless it is a full quality, full LENGTH release from Coldplay. I MIGHT indulge if it's a leak, but only a complete, full quality one.

 

The truth is, as Coldplay fans, don't we all want to buy Viva and open it together, and listen to it together, discovering things at the same time? I mean, we basically come here to do that anyways. I look forward to hearing this stuff all at once, with you guys, rather than us all clicking around frantically to hear a hint of a masterpiece in some TV show.

 

Anyways.

I hope something happens soon. But definitely b-sides, I'd like some of them now please:) Personally (I think) I can wait (somehow) for June 12th - I mean, if we get it all before then, I'd break down and listen to it, but wouldn't some of the nervous fun and excitement be lost? Yes? No? What do you mean, no??!;)
