It isn't a good thing for Downing to play well now and then, that buys another few months more faith of being in the starting 11. It was the same thing with Carroll, if he ever popped up with a decent performance/goal then it just encourages trying to fit a player into a team they can't play in.

Man City waiting for the 92nd minute to win against basement team Reading at home!

Should have been a white-wash

Fergie complaining about Van Persie being belted in the face with the ball, and he has every right to complain, it was after the whistle and highly dangerous (He could've accidentally kicked RVP right in the head) but the FA are hardly going to take you seriously when you say twice that he could've been killed.

Yes, killed.

8 at chelsea still playing

my own joke

is wondering if villa fans like stuffing at xmas ??

I stopped watching Chelsea after Lamps got his to make it 4, wish I had kept it on, 8-0 doesn't happen often.

Words fail me. Congrats.

The jokes shit enough but you had to point out you actually thought of something, and you're proud of something so bad, ugh.

Almost as funny as Mancini saying that Man City would win the champions league this year by winning all their games :laugh3:

Good result for Chelsea, plus 8 onto their goal difference, bit rubbish for Villa if it comes down to goal-difference on the last day of the season

It was their Christmas party last night, they had booked it months in advance thinking they would have gotten a Saturday game this weekend and as they are rather tight they couldn't be bothered changing the dates :P

*wonders what excuse Daryl will come up with for Sunderland*

I'm wondering if Fergie will be on a FA charge in the new year for bringing the game into disrepute. His haranguing of the officials was way out of order.

Daryl will usually give an insincere "well done to Sunderland" and pretend he's not a total cock.

Stan Ternent back in his day used to say at this time of year, "too much plum duff."

Henning Berg: Blackburn Rovers sack manager after 57 days

Blackburn Rovers have sacked manager Henning Berg after just 57 days in charge at Ewood Park.

The 43-year-old former Rovers defender replaced Steve Kean on 31 October but the club have won just one of their 10 matches since his appointment.

The Norwegian's final game was a 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough on Boxing Day, Blackburn's fifth loss in six outings.

The club are already talking to potential replacements and hope to make an announcement shortly.

Assistant manager Eric Black, coach Iain Brunskill and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms have also left Rovers, who are 17th in the Championship.

Berg, who won the Premier League title as a player with Blackburn in 1995, signed a three-year deal at Ewood Park.

His only previous managerial experience had been in his home country with Lyn Oslo and Lillestrom.

Kean's resignation at the end of September had followed months of protests from supporters aimed at the Scot and owners Venky's.

Despite the off-field turmoil, Rovers had started well in the second tier after suffering relegation from the Premier League in May - they were top of the table prior to Kean's final game in charge.

But Blackburn have struggled for points since Berg's arrival and have dropped into the bottom eight as a result of their poor form.

He failed to win a home match in his short stint at the helm, with a 4-1 victory at struggling Peterborough on 17 November their only success during Berg's reign.

A statement on Blackburn's official website reads: "Blackburn Rovers has announced the departure of manager Henning Berg, assistant manager Eric Black, first-team coach Iain Brunskill and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms with immediate effect.

"This decision has been taken following a very disappointing sequence of results.

"The club thanks the four men for their efforts and wishes them every success for the future."

Blackburn travel to Barnsley on Saturday.

i think the own goal scored by johnny evans should have been disallowed, as cisse was interfering in play by making johnny evans be there on the 1st place.

we have many problems and many more coming over the next 6-8 weeks, with the Toure brothers being called, at best we can only hope somehow to try and stay at least 2nd. Chelsea are on a charge and may overtake us.

good point for southampton yesterday, i hope they stay up.

Also Nottingham, forest has sacked their manager.

Madness!

i think the own goal scored by Phil Jones should have been disallowed, as Ba was interfering in play by making Phil Jones be there on the 1st place.
Were you watching a different match? It was Papiss Cisse and Jonny Evans, not Demba Ba and Phil Jones.

douh its what i meant..

^Either Daryl's celebrating the festivities or drowning sorrows after the result.

Don't worry Daryl, Man City can put all their effort into winning the league & FA Cup, they don't have to worry about pesty european games

Chelsea > Man City

Seems Mancini is too angry to do press conferences....

We are unlikley to buy any new players.... in the Jan xfeer window... He will be bitching about this and the piss poor form we re going to have no end. I hope they dont send him out so often in this time.

Miss Micah so much. In all honesty we need so consilidlate the next 2 months with yaya away, See where we are then.... next season there is no torunoments our plyers will be during the summer, so we will be able to prepair for the following season in much better sted, Mancini should also get some money earlier in the summer xfeer window to get new plyers as a number of contracts we had be expired.

Weve learnt a few lessons

We are unlikley to buy any new players.... in the Jan xfeer window...
you don't need any new players, what you do need to do is manage properly the one's you already have and stop fannying about with Christmas calendars and tribunals.
