December 15, 201213 yr Record annual revenues break £200m threshold for first time in Club’s history - Annual losses more than halved from previous reporting period -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manchester City has today released its Annual Report for the 2011-12 season. The comprehensive document, which details the achievements across all sections of the Club over the past season, also includes the full financial record for the 2011-12 year. The annual report is accompanied for the first time by an “At a glance” supplement, designed to give fans and the broader public a concise and visual guide to the Club’s progress in the same reporting period. This year’s report demonstrates the tangible and positive impact of four years of strategic investment in all operations since the acquisition of the Club by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed in September 2008. In the report, Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak recognises the historic on field achievements of 2011-12 and the impact on the Club at home and overseas. He also emphasizes, following the securing of planning permission, the importance of the City Football Academy (CFA) project to the future of the Club and the community in which it resides, calling it “the most significant current initiative to secure the long-term sustainability of the Club’s football operations.” The report reveals that the Club has more than halved its losses, reporting a net loss of £97.9m, down from £197.5m in the previous period. Furthermore, the report highlights that annual turnover has broken the £200m threshold for the first time in the Club’s history with the Club achieving annual revenues of £231.1m in 2011-12. The capital base of the Club has also been strengthened through the issuing of £169m in new equity during the year, avoiding debt based funding and continuing to ensure that the Club is virtually debt free. It is a Club with a rich history and the potential for an even brighter future.” He further points out that alongside significant investment in the playing squad, the Club continues to focus on revenue growth. December 15, 201213 yr Fucking Yaya always scores the stupidest goals with his stupid fucking name. Anyway, the 2nd half was one of the rare times this season we played well, so I guess that's something. Also, Dzeko hates being called a "super sub" because he wants to be in the first team, but whenever he's given any reasonable amount of playing time he's so useless and lazy. There was a 3 on 1 chance in the dying minutes when he basically slowed to walking pace and lazily passed it to a Newcastle defender showing no desire to get a 4th, I know they had it won anyway but you can't start someone who doesn't have that natural hunger to get more. His performance otherwise was just as bad. You can't blame Mancini for usually just throwing him on for the last 5mins, it's the only time he does anything.

December 15, 201213 yr At least 2 of Bale's weren't dives, he was actually clipped enough for it to be a foul but when he's falling he decides to throw his arms and legs in the air theatrically, he's confident enough to prefer trying to play on. That one against Villa was inexcusable though.
December 15, 201213 yr Benteke scores Villa's 1st which was very nice from range, but even more impressive was his set up in the 2nd, backheel from running into nowhere, 2-0 vs Liverpool.
December 15, 201213 yr Benteke scores again, at medium pace he strolled past the defence from about a 40 yard run and then just smacked it in from close range, horrible defending there and after starting off dominating Liverpool are out of it now. But that goal was like playing a game on lowest difficulty.

I was optimistic during the poor run of form because it mainly consisted of tough fixtures (including that lucky draw against Arsenal), and a series of games where Ruiz (our default best player in the absence of Demps and Demb) has been injured, Hangeland gives us a red card and a game where his replacement Senderos is responsible for 2 Spurs goals. But still that doesn't explain Jol fielding a completely different midfield and striker pairing every game. Where was Kacaniclic today? And why are Dejagah and Rodallega allowed anywhere near the pitch? I honestly haven't the slightest guess whether Frei, Karagounis, Diarra, Duff, Sidwell or Richardson will start next week because Jol's been flipping coins like AVB before every game.

December 16, 201213 yr That's a disaster for Chelsea, it was all or nothing with that competition, and 2nd best means nothing. Regardless of the build up and their apparent belief that they expected Corinthians to be a very strong team, I bet they thought they'd roll over this match, and played terribly, now they can return to England a dozen points behind the leaders.
