Studio Noises

This may seem insignificant to some, but I need to know if there are other people out there who are as excited as I am at hearing studio noises in this album. The pedal changes in "Violet Hill" and the little yelps from Chris in "42" and the shifting in "Strawberry Swing". It adds so much for something that many people don't even acknowledge. Perhaps is the fact that X&Y had none and that's why I'm so stupidly giddy at finding them in this album.

Anyone else feel the same?

One of my favorite songs is Proof, because you can hear Chris's foot on the pedals, his squeaky piano bench and even a bit of finger noise on the keys. Hearing those sounds makes a recording more 'human', and even though I haven't really noticed them on the new album yet, I likely will, because I listen for that sort of thing. It just reminds you there's a real person playing the instruments and makes a song so much better, imo.:)

I know, I love it. It's so great. I was listening to "42" for the bazillionth time and I heard Chris make some sort of noise that was definitely him yelping at Jonny or Will or someone. It made me smile a little too much. It just reminded me of "We Never Change" where someone says 'Yeah'. And the pedal shiftings in "Violet Hill" add so much to the beauty of that ending. Just like they do in "Politik".

i LOVE studio noises! i'll have to go back and listen very carefully for the ones you're talking about in 42, but i love the opening to strawberry swing especially, when chris says something that sounds like "it sounds very flat." for some reason, studio noises have always made me disproportionately happy from any band. it's definitely the humanness, and it makes me feel like i'm right there with them :nice:

I love studio noises as well, gives us a tiny peek of how they record the songs... the one i love the most is the one in the beginning of I Ran Away when he says "one, two, three... will" and the drumming starts :)

I think its Guy in Strawberry Swing because of the Scottish accent.

yeah theyre pretty great, it just makes it seem more personal, like the band isnt hiding everything from you. its the desired imperfectness that makes albums perfect. x & y seemed so manufactured, and by that i mean there was nothing like this. i think its a little bit of eno touch that it was so obvious, especially in strawberry swing
