tour tickets

Featured Replies

I'm also at uni, and spent the last of my loan on the two tickets I got for the 15th and 16th

Gahhh, it's really not good for the fanbase!

fans should ALWAYS come first no matter what!

i mean I'm not so bothered because I have block 101 - RIGHT on line with the side of the stage, so REALLY good seats. but if I had terrible seats, I think I'd go as far as complaining to ticketmaster, or coldplay themselves, we had NO advertisement or indication that they were even going on resale!

As I said before on another thread... floor seating went to those who booked tickets directly at the arena. Caused problems as all the touts found out about this and they're more than likely the people you'll see on ebay now flogging them off...

Ticketmaster, SeeTickets, etc. got everything else.

There is no real system for giving out tickets, its all very haphazard so you really do have to be just at the right place at the right time... it's all a complete lottery.

I know how you all feel though, I've had this done to me so many times before where I've had to pick up seats in the clouds as that was all that was left, only to find out a week later the top seats go back on sale.

I was really lucky for the Earls Courts gigs in 2005, I had horrendously bad seats in the roof....I even got them in the presale, LOL.

Then a month or so before the gigs, I got an email from See asking if I wanted to upgrade to a standing ticket. HELL YES!!!!

I was v. happy to say the least! and it must have happened because I was a fan and part of the presale.

Im so disappointed in Coldplay that they don't have a proper fan club at all, and presales this time around. Makes me wonder if they really care, what with having all seats. ugh.

I already had a ticket in block 101 for this so I don't care really,

BUT I don't understand why they're selling extra tickets?

did they just sell the SHIT seats to the REAL fans so that the executives could get in on the floor seating?

it makes no sense after saying they were sold out for this gig to then go on and sell more seats a few weeks later?

I'm fucking annoyed!

Ticketmaster have a history of selling the worst seats first in my experience. It's why I'll always go elsewhere first if I can, but sometimes (like here) you're just cutting your nose to spite your face not to use them when really good seats come up.

There's also the fact that blocks of great seats are reserved for Coldplay's guests. They'll always over-estimate how many they'll need, but closer to the gig expect a few more to be released - probably great seats and only a day or two before the actual event.

Please don't blame the corporates for this. At the O2 they don't get the front seats they have boxes (around the top of the first tier I think). If you're at a bar for those blocks you'll spot the guys in the suits asking 'so who's playing tonight?'

I know this because my friend has a box at the O2. Really, it's about time he took me instead of his business buddies, but I've bought tickets myself because (though I'm poor lol) I don't want to spend the evening with those kinds of people.

Duckette, you are kind even though you're disappointed. A credit to Coldplay.

yeah it is! Live nation has the same date as cp.com for the Chicago show. What show are you going too?

i'm going to boston. it's so annoying because tons of people at my school who probably know like 4 coldplay songs come up to me (because thye know im a huge fan) and theyre like IM GOING TO THE COLDPLAY CONCERT!! (Thinking that i'll be excited for them...) But it just stresses me out because if ANY of them get better seats than me i will be outraged. :veryangry:

How accurate is that Best Buy site?

So I have tickets for the DC show, and it's supposed to be on 7/2.. All of the sites have it listed as that date except the Best Buy one, which has it as 8/3...? I know Chris mentioned changing the first two weeks of the tour because production is behind, and there's that whole mess with the Philadelphia show, so could Best Buy be even remotely accurate?

I really hope it's not since I have plane tickets home for it, and if it's on 8/3 I'll be in England and won't be able to go!

(PS- I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I somehow posted this incorrectly!)

I know this may seem like a silly question, but are all the seats in the lower tier at the O2 better than the ones in the upper tier? Thanks :)

I think that the lower tier sections that are numbers 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109 are at the very back of the stadium......

if you have a seat that is in the higher sections but nearer the stage you might have a better view maybe? ie. in sections 401-405 and on the other side 422-419

If that makes sense?

Definately. You can easily get lost in the upper tiers...

this has been discussed in almost every show thread. No one really knows

Oh, sorry! Well, let's hope it all gets sorted out soon, because this is driving me (and everyone else, I'm sure) crazy...

getting good tickets

hey everyone, i live in toronto...and i was wondering, what is the best way to get AMAZING tickets to a Coldplay show, like front rows...r they like $500 or something? also, has anyone used the bestbuy presale code yet?? what seats did they reserve...good ones? thanks for any help:)

Ticketmaster Auctions Help Please

Since the pre sale didn't give me (or most for that matter) a chance to get some decent seats and nearly every radio station in Chicago have floor tickets and giving them away to random people, when they go onsale I don't think there are going to be that good of seats

How does the auctions work?

Are they worth it how much do floor seats go for?

When do the auctions start compared to when the venues tickets go onsale to the public?

Thanks a lot,

Mike

Okay, the ticketmaster auctions work like this. They have about 10-20 blocks of premium seats. Block 1 is the very best, block 2 the next best and so forth. In each block there are a number of seats-about 10 I think! So Block 1 may have 10 Row A tickets. You can just bid on a certain number of blocks or all of them or anything in between.

Like any auction you enter the amount you are willing to pay. Your bid will stay in that block until higher bids overtake you. If this happen you will fall down to the next block-if you choose this.

Like any auction you have no control over other bids and you can be outbid at the last moment. Also if you bid on all the blocks, you might start out at the top but end up at the very bottom. Also you have no control over what seats you get, for instance if you win a block in Row A-C, you could end up with seats in Row A, B or C.

Another thing to watch out for is ticket delivery. Some ticketmaster auctions only have a will call collection option, some will send. But if it is important for you to have your tickets in hand you might want to check that.

Finally, if bidding on every block of tickets, make sure you will be happy with the tickets at the bottom of the pile and bid accordingly.

Hope that helps! Personally I hate the ticketmaster auctions but I am glad to offer advice!

Trade: 2xBBC for Brixton

Hi, I won two tickets for the BBC show on Wednesday, unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to make it. I was wondering if it's possible, and if there's anyone who for similar reasons would like to exchange his or her tickets for the Brixton gig on Monday. I would really love to see the Brixton show and I would hate for those two tickets for the BBC gig to go to trash. :shocked2:

Cheers anyone!!!

Hi Mikey, i don't think you'll get into the Brixton gig, because they're asking for ID and have asked winners to arrive early to ensure they get through all the neccessary checking. Wheras I'm told the BBC gig only want to see tickets and no ID.

Sorry to hear you can't get to the BBC gig. I'd love to take them off your hands, but i suppose we don't share the same surname do we?? I'd suggest giving the BBC tickets hotline a call on Mon morning. All the best.

If I was looking at spending about 350 for 2 tickets dollars on the auction does anyone with some experience know what seats I would be looking at?

Something in the first 20 rows atleast :).....I've gotten row 3 seats at $250/seat before, but right now looking at the auctions currently going on the prices this time are much higher and the seats available are worse (for example for the san jose show, the best row offered on the auction is row 6...in 2005 best row offered was row 2 for san jose). For the LA show, the LOWEST bid for row 6 seats is $360 currently...

This year since a lot of shows were cancelled these auctions will attract more attention and prices will be higher...

I'm going to get tix from the auction since i dont expect to get any floor seats in the general sale..scalpers will prolly pick up everything before I even hit refresh on my screen so I'm not gonna bother. I have already decided on the amount I'll be bidding and I'll be happy as long as its within the first 10 rows of the stage.

yeah i am going to check out the auctions for sure.. the best thing offered for the Chicago show currently is row 6. I'm looking to bid on that probably but only after the gen sale doesn't come up with anything decent on the floor.

How long do the auctions for each pair of tickets last? is there a countdown clock or what?

thanks

yes it is mentioned

It is a 10 day auction
