what kind of camera?

if it's a little point and shoot just put it in your back pocket. i've never had anyone pat down my butt before.

I just stick the cam in the inside pocket of my purse... No one ever looks there because that's a woman's "special pocket", haha. I dunno what I'd do if I was a guy... Except bring a woman... Who has a purse... I have a fairly large camera... So I just bring a fairly large purse... I once was searched twice at one concert by two different guards... Needless to say I left with awesome photos. I don't think Coldplay usually has a camera restriction though... Though I plan on leaving my cam at home like I did the last time I saw them... Enjoyed the show more.

I've never had my camera taken off me. It's just a point and click jobbie, but no one's every really said anything. I was once asked if it was a 'normal camera', which it is, but that's it.

As long as you don't take in anything that looks even remotely professional (ie. big lens) then you should be fine.

The definition of a "professional" camera is one that has a detachable lens... If your lens doesn't come off... Usually you're fine... However, I have been in concerts (not Coldplay) where I've actually gotten in trouble for taking pics with my cell phone...

if the camera is small and you're a girl just hide it inside your bra.. (i've even hidden a small bottle of alcohol there )

If your camera is big or if you're a guy then you have a problem..

Yeah - it also depends on how evil security are feeling as well.

You get a lot of highend digital cameras which are really nice and look like they should have a detachable lens. I think they're a definite no when going to gigs.

i'll bring the camera in my car,if they allow ok or else it'll be again kept in my car that's what i do.

I just stick it in front of my pants..between underwear and jeans..and cover it with my sweatshirt...if anyone asks...yes I'm that excited to see the show

(nah it works coz my cam is small, and because if the sweatshirt is baggy they wont even look twice)

Smart move... They never pat down the front... That would be, um, awkward... LOL

well my advise if your a guy is be confident and somewhat crafty. Ive never really needed to hide mine in a special place, other than my back pocket. NOrmally the security only checks ppl with a lot of sh!t in their hands or hanging off their body ie; purse, big bag, murse, candy, camera bag, whatever. When you go through security be calm and act like you dont have anything and nothing to hide. Look at them like you've done this so many times before and they'll usally let you go. If they tell you to pull out whats in your back pocket just pull out your wallet and not your camera. Most guards just want to move everyone through as quickly as possible so they can just get back to doing absolutely nothing.

i was stood next to a women at a bon jovi concert on sunday and she had professional camera , dam her ! she got amazing pictures ( i kept looking at them , some were amazing! at one point i wanted to ask her if she'd email them but i was to into the concert and then i had a an arguement with her :p)

I brought two disposable cameras and I just put them in my pockets (I had baggy pants).

I was also at the very front. So i was taking pictures infront of these security guys. They didnt seem to mind. At first I was a bit worried, but then I turned around and saw a bazillion flashes a'flashin and I thought, 'Well, they can hardly take my disposable away'.

Needless to say, Ive got some great close ups of Chris and Jonny...which reminds me, I was meant to post that pic in the Buckland thread..woops.

But yer, I dunno if it was just the Aussie security guards being chill, but I didnt get searched nor did I see ne1 else get searched?

I wish I could bring my professional camera (as well as various lenses that are good in dark places... lol), but I doubt it'll be allowed so I'll probably hide my mom's tiny camera in my bra. xD

If you're a girl, or a transvestite, or anyone who wears a bra just for the fun of it, stick it down under the connect-y bit in your bra, provided the camera's small enough. Works a charm--security can't exactly check in there.

For guys, though, I dunno...in your sock?

You'd miss so much of the show if you were busy changing lenses all the time!

Personally, I love photography. It's part of every aspect of my life - school, work, play. However, I always have this fear that I'll remember the best moments in my life as they looked through a camera... So recently, I've been making an attempt to leave my camera at home for things such as concerts, and if I do bring it I make sure I limit myself.

To everyone suggesting this bra idea... There's no way that works for every girl... ie: me. LOL

While on the topic of cameras, I'd like to take the opportunity to BEG everyone to start turning their flash off at concerts. It's incredibly useless. Your pictures will look a million times better without them. It always kills me, especially at large venues, when I see people using flash no matter how far away from the stage they are... Concert lighting is so pretty... Why ruin it?

I feel the same way about photography-- and that is such a good point... all parts of my life seem to be focused around photography, now that I think about it. Maybe I need to live a little more. ;)

And ohhhh my god, I most definitely agree. Camera flashes are SO annoying in general, but at concerts they're just pointless. Especially with Coldplay... and all those gorgeous colorful strobes and stuff. There's no need for a flash at all, and I'm sure the band doesn't love seeing a thousand flashes go off when they perform!

Most of my pictures from a Coldplay gig a few years ago have got the security guard in them :p He was cool and offered to get us Pizza (only slightly jokingly :D )

If you're on the barrier, it may work, but other than that it is really, really pointless as it does nothing except illuminate the back of the person's head in front of you. Plus if, like my camera, it takes 9 years to recharge in between pictures, then it's even more pointless.

or you could just hold it in your hands when you walk into the show. Theyll be so busy checking your bag and frisking you and everything, theyll forget to look at your hands. Its the perfect plan!:sneaky:

My son always buys a drink from the concession stand, dumps the water,

carries camera in , inside the cup.

Also have seen this done by placing camera in a ziplock baggie, and placing beneath some popcorn !:laugh3:

*takes note*

When I went in to their concert in Anaheim in 06 we had to take everything out of our pockets, hold it in our hands as they waved a wand over us. I had a small digital camera and they had no problem with it. I plan to do the same at the Forum in a few weeks, just walk right in with it. I think they are more concerned about cameras that can record video and/or audio.
