Damn. I was hoping since Shoreline allows cameras, this would include professional cameras, but I guess not. I'll have to bring my small one. :(

It depends what the security define as a 'professional' camera, it's a potential minefield, but in general if your camera has removed lens than it gets classed as professional ;)

Two weeks ago I was at a football game with my camera. There it also is fobidden to take professional cameras with.. The website from the team says it should not be bigger than 15cm including the objective. The other objective I just had in my bag.. my camera is exactly 15,2 cm - it was no problem. The security guy said that he has no order to forbid that. But I think you should not take big really big zoom lenses with or a tripod.

I hope I can get my dslr camera to the Coldplay concert as well!

Please more Coldplay DSLR experiences! :)

I stuck my digital camera in my bra lol, and luckily did not get caught.

For R.E.M. last summer, even though the Rose bowl had signs all around saying that you couldn't bring in any cameras, during one of the songs mr stipe asked the audience to raise their cameras up to the sky to create a city landscape for one of the songs.

overall, some bands ain't picky on cameras, whereas others are pretty strict

^Well, I doubt it's Coldplay themselves who care- just the stadium/arena/venue where the different concerts take place.

LMAO!!!! :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

Don't worry guys, you'll be allowed to take your cameras in. ;)

Coldplay wants you to have your camera, the only ones venues don't/can't allow in are any with interchangeable lenses.

^Sadly that not always the case.

The HP Pavilion in San Jose where I went for my CP concert last summer checked everyone for cameras, of any kind. And then confiscated them if they found any. :(

I did the same thing! (I wore my sports bra because that seemed to give me a more "natural look" :laugh3:)

Sadly, it turned out, I have no idea how to use my camera so all the photos turned out rubbish :( :embarassed:

But to all Coldplayers who want to take photo's, I'd just advise you to go with a curvy girl and she'll get the camera in, no probs :smug:

Hehe, I did the same thing with my camera, and I stuck all my extra memory cards and batteries in my shoes :P

Didn't need extra batteries because the ones that came with my camera are really good... never presumed to take extra memory cards because I suspected my photography skills were going to suck :(

Odd... The shows in Acer Arena in Sydney didn't have any restrictions.

The security people didn't really care from memory.

The Acer tickets actually said 'video recording prohibited' and at the 12 march gig we had to turn out our pockets onto a table before entering. I took out my digicam and spare battery from my front jeans pocket which they were happy with. However, in the excitement, *coughs* I forgot to turn out my back pocket containing my camcorder, ;):o:laugh3:, checkit>>

your video officially pumped me up for tomorrow night in ATL. did you record the whole show? tempted to try my DSLR or HD Camcorder.... scared to have it taken though!

Digital camera's

I figured i would post a thread to find out what kind of digital camera's people use for Live gigs, I'm in the situation right now where i don't own one yet, but will be going to a few concerts this summer, Including Coldplay where ill have pretty good seats and want to take some good pictures, So ill be purchasing one in the next couple days.

I know you cant take Professional Camera's (DSLR) to a show but am told USUALLY its not a big deal to bring a regular digital camera in.

I know mega pixels don't matter , it just makes the picture more capable of being blown up. I'm not into all that editing and all. I just want some clear High-Definition picture.

What kind of camera do you use when going to live gigs?

And if you have pictures, Could you please post them on this thread and include the made and model of your camera?

...Or if you don't own one yet and heard good reviews about a certain digital camera could you let me in on what it is? :)

my camera is not really a good one, except if you are really close to the stage...

it's an old sony dsc-750

I'm pretty sure many people could help you because there's some members who posted some really good coldplay concert pictures!

I would recommend NOT taking your DSLR! There's a high chance that they'll confiscate it, I don't know of any venues that allow those. :(

I use a Canon Powershot SD790 for concerts,

I heard about the canon powershot, i heard they are really nice cameras and was actually considering buy that or a Sony Cybershot, hmmm Anyone else? :)

I use an old Canon PhotoShot A520

Has never let me down in gigs, apart from one crazy night out in Manchester where the len cover spring broke meaning the 2 parts of the lens cover didn't go down when you switched it off.

I prefer it to the other camera in the house because the canon uses proper AA batteries, where the other camera has a stupid battery which needs recharging in a special unit.
