Things to note.....

 

At minute mark 1:24, the hostess asked GUY BERRYMAN a question after she quotes him. GUY gets a bit of a smirk on his face after the quote part. Notice that after she quotes him and asks him a question.... She has JOHNNY answer!!! Johnny didn't expect this. And all the members of coldplay are laughing at this. However,.... the host has NO IDEA!!!!

 

At minute mark 1:50, the other hostess point out which one is GUY BERRYMAN... in her own subtle way without saying anything!!!!!

 

Then at 2:05.... Chris Martin makes a joke about Guy. Everyone laughs.....

 

However.....

 

The hosts are laughing about the joke..... Coldplay is laughing at the fact that the first girl doesn't know their names!!!!!

That was definately one of the highlights. The funniest part was that the hosts were the only ones who didn't know what had happened, and the guys were laughing and confused.

I thought it was rather embarrassing for her, actually. How can you get his name wrong after having introduced him? Seriously.

how dumb am I! I followed the links last night and watched it all but didn't have a clue what they were laughing at, I thought it was an 'in' joke, I'll blame it on the migraine I'm still recovering from!

Wow, they called 2 different people Guy...and I thought this was something only superfans would notice. :laugh3:

 

An even better part is when they're doing "In My Place" and Chris sings "If you go, if you go, and let us play on the Today show." :lol:

 

(By the way, my screen name has nothing to do with Guy...that's just a weird coincidence. :P)

yeah that whole interview looked like a fiasco. I hate when the host of a show attempts to behave as if they already know something about whoever their interviewing. If your not into the band that fine but to act like your knowledgeable about the record etc and then totally mess up something as basic as their names just looks stupid.

yeah i noticed this too...i like'd how they reacted though, they thought it was funny as opposed to getting pissed about it, which i thought was very a stand up way to act about it. when chris made the joke it was even funnier. that lady must have felt retarded, because you know when the blonde called him by his actual name, the other had to have gone...oh shit.

 

the bands great about shit like this though...absolutely no ego. you cant help but love a band thats this great but are so down to earth.

The first time I saw this I was DYING laughing.. poor Jonny, he was trying to compose himself and Anne just kept at it.. the boys were looking like they were dying as well

Now that I watch it again, it seems like Anne and Meredith were just yelling out names and whoever answered is where they put the microphone

I suppose with all the pressures of hosting the Today show, and being expected to remember oodles of names, I can see how it happens.. Still, it's funny :laugh3: Next time, name tags..

i thought i was the only one who noticed this!! i thought that was funny the way johnny reacted, he was definitely about to crack up. i thought those hosts were so cheesy and stupid.

btw did anyone else notice that when they introduced them Anne says "We've got Chris Martin who we all know, Jonny Buckland who we also all know on guitar" THEN she says we've got Guy Berryman a bassist and Will Champion dummer. when she says that if you listen carefully you can hear Guy say "who we don't know" speaking of her intro and the guys started to laugh . ---just one of those moments that a obbessed fan would notice but it's also funny

When you're having an interview you HAVE to prepare. Look at some pics, learn people names...
