Yes, believe it or not, there are people out there who don't keep up to date with the band's setlists

Seriously though, asking if Coldplay are going to play Clocks or Yellow is like asking if Chris will ask "Is everyone OK?" :laugh3:

Q. I have Coldplay golden circle tickets to the Nice concert tonight. The tickets say to be there at 20h. What time should I get there to be as close to the stage as possible?

The Oracle replies:

I'm afraid the time you get there is entirely up to you. The golden circle may mean you could chance getting there later but to be honest I wouldn't leave it 'til 8pm.

Coldplay should be on at 10 so you will be there in plenty of time if you get there at 8 but that won't be close to the stage as Rita Ora is on at 8 and Marina & the Diamonds at 8.45.

Q. during European MX tour, concerts are every other day. I was wondering if guys comes home (I mean UK) or stays in European countries where they perform on the day off?

Love,

Aimee

The Oracle replies:

They were in Portugal the night before that show as it was the first of the European leg but they do come home in between the rest to be with their families.

Q. Dear Oracle,

In Roadie 42's most recent article, he talked about how awesome the Hollywood Bowl was, and I was just curious if the guys have looked at performing at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado in the US, because it is a truly amazing venue.

Thanks for your time,

Ben

The Oracle replies:

They already have Ben. Back in 2003 they played there on the A Rush Of Blood To The Head tour. If you visit our archived Timeline, and click 2003, you will find a clip and blurb at 5th June.

Q. During the concert in Porto, on the 18th of May, when the band were playing Charlie Brown, Chris Martin says "(Jason?) I love you man." And "This is for ???".

You can see it in

from 2:53.

Could you please let me know what does he say, and who's Jason (or whoever's name he's saying)?

The Oracle replies:

Yes, he does say Jason. Jason is the guy who invented the Xylobands. After that he says, "This is for the person right at the back now".

Q. I was reading Will's response to the twitter questions for #coldplaylive. Will said that his favorite opening act for them was Arcade Fire. I was wondering for which tour and dates that Arcade Fire was the opening act. I absolutely love Arcade Fire and Coldplay! I wish I could've seen them together.

The Oracle replies:

Technically he didn't actually say that they were the opening act; he said they'd had the pleasure of sharing the same bill at festivals. I know that doesn't exactly answer the question of who his favourite band they've toured with is.

Q. Hello,

I've been poking around the Oracle section and have come across many questions that refer to Xylo-bands. Can you explain what they are? I'm going to a show in August and I want to at least partially know what to expect.

Thank you (o:

The Oracle replies:

Xylobands are wristbands with LED lights that flash and light up during certain songs. They are handed out as you enter the venue and are activated by radio control. All you do is wear it like a bracelet and wait for the show to start.

I'm sometimes horrified by the choice of questions. There must be better ones. You can google what a xyloband is and probably should already know what they are if you've read the Oracle section. :|

/rant over

I agree

Some of the questions the Oracle answers can be found on google. What really really annoys me is the Team Oracle stuff. I don't want to read about problems people are having, plus some questions are best left for a counselor/therapist.

I actually like the Team Oracle stuff. I mean, honestly : what if someday I find myself in a situation close to the one from the question ? (not the exact same one, because of course I know we all have our personal history & personality and experiences and stuff) Or a friend ? The answers given by Debs and others are quite helpful, and, some people don't realize they need to go see a counselor/therapist before they read the answers, and that's why they come asking The Oracle about their issues.

And, you know, I often read the beginning and if I'm not interested, I just don't read the rest of it. Simple as that.

But, yeah, some Coldplay questions the Oracle answers to can definitely be googled. She once explained it by saying that she receives so many questions she may not spot the more interesting ones, and also, sometimes she just can't answer them.

Q. Dearest Oracle,

I currently live in Denmark, and have been strongly considering going to Roskilde Festival, where Guy's secondary band, Apparatjik, will be performing. But then I checked the tour dates of Coldplay's tour, and I can see that the boys will be playing in America for nearly the whole duration of the festival, with an exception of the 7th of July.

My question is; Will Guy be flying to Denmark to perform onstage with Jonas Bjerre & Magne Furuholmen, or will he not be onstage, whatsoever? Thanks (:

The Oracle replies:

I can see why it would look possible because of the 7th July being a non-show day but as the band will be in Philadelphia on the 6th and due in Washington on the 8th, the flight times and time zone changes would make it too much of a risk to take.

I'd go as far to say it's (almost) impossible.

Q. Hi Oracle, I was just wondering if Coldplay are playing the Capital Summertime Ball before or after the Mylo show the same night?

The Oracle replies:

They'll be playing Wembley first and their own show will be as scheduled, so no changes there.

Q. Dear Oracle,

Like yourself, I love the song What If from X&Y. I don't think they ever played this song live. Do you know why?

I will go to to concert in Zurich this Saturday and obviously hope that you can influence the guys to put this on their playlist :-)

Best regards from a Dutch guy in Switzerland.

The Oracle replies:

It was played during the Twisted Logic tour back in 2005 but it wasn't a permanent fixture on the setlist.

Last December it reappeared, much to my delight, on the European leg of the tour after a lengthy hiatus.

Just to (re) point out that not all fans are like us and hang around the forum and know EVERYTHING about the band. Not everyone is as in touch with how the band operate in terms of their live shows. And as for team Oracle, I think it's great that a fan's personal life is treated like it matters by someone tied to the band, but if I don't want to know about it, I just don't read it. ;):)

(This isn't meant to offend anyone, but I see so much complaining about something that's here for us that doesn't have to be. A little gratitude never hurt anyone.;))

Q. WHO'D LIKE TO JOIN TEAM ORACLE?

When I answer questions of a personal nature, Coldplay.com readers often get in touch with their own thoughts. So, we now have a weekly feature, Team Oracle, whereby each Friday (with the question asker's permission) we open up a question to all of you to answer too. Then, the following Friday, I'll post a selection of the best answers, alongside my own reply.

ANYONE can join in so, if you'd like to, please email your response to the following question, in no more than 250 words, to [email protected] before midnight Thursday 31st May.

Last year I met a guy at school. He's nice to talk to and has a great sense of humor. Thing is that he has a girlfriend. I started to like him and I have no idea why, but he was feeling the same towards me. After a couple of months spent to just get to know each other he kissed me and from that moment we were really close. A couple months ago I told him that I couldn't do this, because he is not leaving his girlfriend for me, which I understand. They have a history and he only knew me for 2 months. But after that I gave in again and we were having a good time. But what now? Apparently he really likes me. I know because he told me, and we're always pretty honest to each other. I never lied or held something back for him, which is pretty special. But on the other hand am I still not good enough to leave his girlfriend. Don't get me wrong. He hates this situation as well, and he is a very nice guy. I actually think I love him but I would never tell him. At least not when he's still in a relationship with her. I know that I should be the smart girl and stop it. I tried. Really. I love him and because he is being so sweet to me I am having a very hard time just trying to stop it. Please tell me what I should do, because I don't think this situation should stay. Rose, The Netherlands.

Look forward to seeing your replies.

Q. TEAM ORACLE QUESTION #72

I've been really depressed lately. I'm 20 years old and had my first kiss, and subsequent kisses thereafter for almost 2 months with a girl. Thing is, she really really liked me, but the entire time we were together, I could never figure out if I liked her or not. In fact, the first time she asked me to kiss her, I said no. I just wish I would have stopped it there, but I tried the relationship even though I wasn't sure about her. When it ended peacefully, I was fine. But now a couple weeks later I think back on it and regret everything. I feel like I gave a part of myself away for someone that I don't really like. It was my first time living at college away from home, so it was a stressful period, but that shouldn't be an excuse for seeking physical comfort from someone I wasn't sure about. Now I can't stop thinking about it and am truly depressed.

The Oracle replies:

Gavin, it's truly admirable you care so much about your well-being in matters of the heart but I think life is a journey fraught with choices, dilemmas and challenges to face. Sometimes it's hindsight that makes us see that we made a bad decision. We haven't got a crystal ball to help us so we have to take it on the chin and put it down to experience.

I know we can't go back and change the past but we can learn and move forward from it. You now know that you're not prepared to give of yourself unless you really have feelings for a person.

It sounds like you were under a certain amount of pressure not just from your new situation and surroundings, but the girl in question.

Don't worry that if when you meet the right girl your regrets rear their head again, you don't need to punish yourself.

From what you have said, you have handled it well in my opinion. It ended amicably and you've nothing to feel bad about. I'm sure we all have regrets of some kind. My Mum used to have a phrase that drove me mad when I was young but I now see the sense in it: "It's all part & parcel of growing up".

Over to you.

Sigh, physical affection strikes again. This is something that happens to people who don't always see the results of their actions straight away. When distracted by things like work, school, or other activities that raise your stress level, you unconsciously try to find a way to make yourself feel better, stronger, and happier. In your case, making a relationship. This is not drastically as much your fault as you may think, by a long shot. Having never gone down that far in a relationship before, I am certain you weren't entirely sure what you were supposed to feel. Everyone feels that need for relation. Don't pull yourself so down and ruminate in grief over it. Just feel glad you got off at peaceful terms, not everyone has that kind of luck. Now though, you have the experience, so be watching yourself a little bit closer from now on. Make sure you don't go so far down a road that the way back is indecipherable. But remember, Everything's Not Lost (another great song!), you just need some time, meditation, and/or some rest and I promise you'll understand what you had done. And, hopefully, get into a relationship you do wish to stay in! Best of luck to you. Your friend, J.

The best thing you can do is be sincere with her and say that you're not sure, that you feel lonely away from home and she has to know that maybe you have no strong feelings for her and perhaps the loneliness brings you to accept kissing her and it's better that she knows the way you feel. Women do prefer the truth and if you open your heart to her she'll understand and give you more time and space to think about it. Luna.

You should stop thinking about her. If you didn't really like her that means you didn't really give part of yourself away. Natalie.

I used to be as deep and emotional as you are. I used to think carefully about every single move I made and its consequences. Now I decided to go with the flow. And you know why? Because I realized that by thinking too much about my actions was hurting me badly. I used to be a little bit like a philosopher, always looking for drama with myself it seemed. I used to be depressed too. So what I recommend you is... let it be. You did nothing wrong by kissing this girl. Don't look for cons cause there mustn't be any. I'm sure you just wanted to try something new. You were merely trying to find out if you liked her. And you realized that after all you didn't. As long as there's no one hurt here there's nothing to be worried about. So relax, chill, enjoy life as much as you can. Don't go back on the things you did. The past is done. From now on look at the present and choose what you wanna do. And never ever regret things cause you won't go back in time to undo it. Peace and love, Caro.

Even though you say you didn't like her at all, you decided to go out with her, which means a part of you might have been curious to see if you could like her, if you tried to like her. There's something in you that told you to give it a chance with her, whether you admit it or not - because you did. It's easy to feel regretful after a relationship that didn't work out, but I think it's important to remember that now you know. At least you gave it a try, so you won't have to worry about not even giving it a chance. If you really were not interested in her at all, then I think you're bound to feel a bit bad about the whole thing. Especially because then you'd not just thrown away your kisses, but also thrown away hers on someone that didn't even like her. You should have been honest with her from the beginning; and might just be feeling guilty now. I realize loneliness probably drove you to do it, but you can't take it back at this point. You can always learn from experiences and know that next time if you don't feel it, you shouldn't fake it. Hope you feel much better. Love, Darem.

Sometimes in life, we do things that we later on realise maybe we shouldn't. That's normal for everyone. The good thing about mistakes, though, is that you learn from them. Personally, I have this motto in life: "If you never try, you'll never know." (Yes, it's from Fix You). So, I think that it was good that you gave it a shot, instead of maybe one day thinking "what if". I hope that you can realise that if you don't make mistakes, life won't teach you any valuable lessons. You can't take back what has already happened, but you can stop it from haunting you forever. Just try and put it all behind you - if there is a will, there is a way! I wish you all the best. Medina.

Don't regret your decisions about this relationship for a second. There's no need to beat yourself up about being "sure" about starting a relationship with her. We can never be truly sure about relationships until we try our hand at it. If you never try, you will never know.

You are much better off seeing your feelings through in a relationship than leaving her behind and thinking about what could have been. Since you pursued it, be happy that you discovered your true feelings!

Stay positive about it and remember what you learned during this relationship so that you can make your next more comfortable. Warm regards, Blake.

Thanks for all your replies. Calling all readers, Team Oracle is open to any and everyone so if you fancy replying, click to read this week's question, and send us your answer.
