Giving this thread a slight bump just to say my love for them lately has been immense.

these guys have become one of my favourite bands in the world.

They played at a free festival in my city last September, but I couldn't see them cause I was seeing Muse that night. Not really a fan so it's not a problem.

No matter how much I listen to these guys, I just can't seem to get enough. It's probably only about a year ago now that I started really getting into them, and they are now definitely one of my favourite bands!

 

Did I mention I even bought a signed poster from their UK tour? :P

i remember a friend recommending them to me around the time TLF came out and i was like yeah yeah heard of them not my thing. and now i'm 10 times the fan my friend is haha

It is awesome :awesome: It's not up on my wall yet though because I want to put in it a frame.

 

Haha yeah, I remember listening to their debut just before TLF came out and thinking 'yeah, this isn't that great. Too shouty and rough and just blegh.' And then I was in JB hifi one day and I heard Blue Blood, and I liked it so much I asked the people at the counter who it was, and then went to every JB around Brisbane trying to find a copy of the album. And I haven't looked back :P

I made sure to catch them at Coachella, having downloaded TLF shortly before. Great and energetic set, and an awesome amount of Europeans in the crowd for a festival that takes place in the southwestern U.S. :laugh3:

It's one of my favourite albums, period. In fact, I think I'm going to have to go and listen to it now :wacky:

a lot of the best bands going around at the moment make wonderful albums but put on fairly bland shows. even if they're good shows theres nothing memorable about them. and the bands who are awesome live are the type who have a few great hits on their album and the rest is filler.

 

Foals incredibly manage to do both. i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they're awesome musos.

I love both Foals records, but they are both completely blown away by their live show imo. One of the best I'd ever seen.

When they released Total Life Forever I was afraid that it wouldnt fullfill my expectations after the perfection of their first album.

Well, I know it's songs that they like but I don't know whether they covered the songs are they are out in the original version.

 

All I know is that they are out in actual cassette tapes, which I found interesting. Might try to hunt it down and see if it's online somewhere...

Out of all of my favourite bands, Foals are the only one who hasn't released a new record the 2 couple of years so it's about time! Haha. :D
