July 25, 200817 yr Good afternoon. It has been brought to our attention that the Wikipedia article on hard-living rock combo Coldplay is not as accurate as it could be. For starters, it was Mr Tim Crompton who first suggested the name Coldplay, not Mr Tim Rice-Oxley. Also, the song featuring Miss Kylie Minogue is called Lhuna, not Lunar, and is not confirmed to be on the band's next album. Furthermore, eagled-eyed readers of the band's album sleevenotes (or, indeed, their MySpace page) will have noted that Coldplay officially have five members - with the mysterious Mr Phil Harvey making up the quintet. The band would, we're told, be enormously grateful if these inaccuracies could be corrected, so that they don't keep having to answer questions about them. Anchorman http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=80 Interesting....
July 25, 200817 yr we didn't. the main wikipedia page did. that link takes you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coldplay whereas our Wiki page is http://www.wikicoldplay.com
July 25, 200817 yr Haha what? Is that real? Why would someone who works for the band be so sarcastic, calling them "hard living" and not know who Phil is?
July 25, 200817 yr No. It's really weird. It's either a disgruntled employee or something funny is going on
July 25, 200817 yr The Newsreel posts are usually a bit silly, aren't they? I get the feeling they're just taking the piss.
July 25, 200817 yr I think it is extremely cool that they really officially consider Phil a fifth member and even really want the world to know it! From now on it's Chris, Jonny, Guy, Will and Phil! And I always thought that it really was Keanes drummer who came up with the name Coldplay! Who is this Tim Crompton guy? Interesting message from this Anchorman.
July 25, 200817 yr Yeah, anyone can edit it. It's understandable that the band itself doesn't do it themselves though.
July 25, 200817 yr Weird entry. They should have changed it since the current message is slightly different from the one first posted here, now it says: "hell-raising rock combo Coldplay" Do you know what does the title mean? "Fortis est veritas" Latin? An anagram? This better be a joke, otherwise I'll be very disappointed reading something that rude in the official site.
July 25, 200817 yr It sounds like it's been written in a jokey way to me..... even sounds a bit like something Chris might say.... don't take it seriously I think!
July 25, 200817 yr Imho it's rude because this anchorman is just complaining like "Oh you're doing a crap service" and still weird cause if he sees it's wrong he can just go there and fix it.
July 25, 200817 yr I mailed Debs asking about it and she said she'll talk to the one on charge. Probably he didn't want to be rude just to encourage public to correct things there.
July 25, 200817 yr Hey, this interested me too. I liked the latin bit albeit a bit showy offy. I'm now getting quite curious to this enigmatic fifth member. In fact I'll put up a prize of a million zillion congratulations to the greatest amoungst us who posts a picture of one Phil Harvey, dead nosey me. Staying on the subject of the blogs on Coldplay.com did anyone read the one posted by #42 earlier today? What a cheeky blighter, said he could nae make oot the bands mgt assist cos she's scottish! A tell yae see if a git ma hons oan them...toast! :)
