Ehh I think you can do better than me, lol. I'd look so stumpy.

Gals.

I surrendered to expensive fashion or whatever you wanna call it.

I bought a pair of boots. For *ahem* 190 euros. They're fucking great, though. And their warranty lasts for 2 years.

Fucking hell! :bomb:

Woah those are kickass! :D

Don't worry, Nina, I am in the exact position. I just ordered a pair of boots for $160. I was sweating balls ordering it, but it'll be an investment and they are my dream boots. :)

i had the same situation with my boots that i'm currently having a love-affair with. i'm just not the sort of person that owns...*ahem* $300 footwear. but i got them on a good deal because my mom works at the store that sells them, and well. i  them to death :D

all three of us will get so much use out of them that we won't regret the purchases :D

Exactly. :D I'm glad you're with me on this :)

Also, I finally got my Radiohead tshirt ... and today i bought a black pullover to wear it under it ... can't wait to try them on! :D

Women spend £1,000 a year on their wardrobe but only wear 30% of their clothes

article-0-01A73B5D000004B0-963_233x341.jpg Spolit for choice: Research has found women generally own 100 items of clothing but only wear 30 of them

Men have known it for years - that despite spending more than £1,000 a year on clothes, women only wear a third of their wardrobe.

Research has found that women generally own 100 items of clothing yet only wear 30 of them, while the rest stay on their hangers.

The average woman's favourite item cost under £50 but is kept for 12 years, the research for The Clothes Show Live revealed. It may be a skirt, a dress, or a pair of shoes, but it is what a woman will feel the most attractive in.

Gavin Brown, managing director of the show which opens in Birmingham today, said: 'It seems that women have a lasting affinity with their wardrobes - 12 years is a long time in the shelf life of an item of clothing.

'Reasons provided for overlooking such a large number of once-loved clothes include the fact that they are no longer fashionable, have gone out of season, no longer fit the wearer, or quite simply that the owner has tired of certain items.

'However the average woman will often keep clothes she never wears because they remind her of a good time in her life, or in the hope that they will one day become fashionable again or that she may one day fit into them again.

A lot has changed since we started Clothes Show Live 20 years ago.

'But one thing that remains constant is our visitors' unerring dedication to a sense of style, and their continual quest to find the next hot thing in fashion.

'Fortunately, we've never had a problem helping them fulfil that quest and we look forward to helping wardrobes across the country develop over the next 20 years.'

A recent survey found that most women think about shopping with about the same frequency that men think about sex.

Every 60 seconds three out of four women will start day-dreaming about a handbag they saw on the way to work or where to buy a new dress for a party.

Cosmopolitan.co.uk found that shopping trips consume women's thoughts dozens of times a day and hundreds of times a week.

Of 778 women aged 19 to 45 interviewed, 74 per cent said they think about shopping every minute.

Previous studies have claimed that men think about sex with a similar frequency, while the subject crosses some women's minds only once a day.

Is Portugal a good place to buy dog blankets, then??

eek, if it's 30% in the UK, i wonder what it is in america :uhoh:

(i saw a study once that said that americans own a significant percentage more of clothes than most other nations in the world, mostly because of our insane level of capitalism and the fact that our homes tend to be newer on average with large, built-in closets :P)

Is that to go with all those large, built-in people??

No way, man, I'm not made of money! I wear everything and I wear them for years!!

I guess I'm the weird exception to that. Even though it is a UK poll.

I'm not surprised, because you're very sensible.;)

Do you get a new Arsenal shirt every season, though??:P

Haha thanks, Mark. I try to be sensible. :nice:

Hahah noo actually I got my first shirt this year. Because kits are so expensive and I would have felt guilty asking for a pricey kit from my parents all the time, so I got it as a birthday present for myself this year because now I have a job and can buy things that I like without the guilt. :D

Though I am considering getting an away kit for Christmas...

I hear there's a special offer on Spurs shirts at the moment!!

Ermm...I'll pass on those, thanks. Need to spend my money well, mind!!

It is sensible to keep your clothes as they might become fashionable again in a few years time.

Also there's nothing wrong with getting a new shirt every season.

Definitely, I've kept sweaters and things from years ago that I still use because they are in style again. :D

Football shirts? Well, trust me, if I could have I would, it's just I didn't have money to buy them. ;) But since I have a steady part-time job now I am able to buy them!

You don't have to have a new one every season, I just can't see how it's wrong if you do.

That's understandable. You're a bit unlucky, I guess if you lived in/ near London and had the chance to go to matches your parents might get you the shirt. Most young people here seem to have them anyway.

Yeah, the only way I could get them is ordering online. It would be cool to go to the real fanshop in the city one day. :)

It's the same here, there's Philly teams' merchandise sold EVERYWHERE. Even at Target they sell authentic Eagles jerseys. If I actually liked American football or baseball, I'd like it, but I don't really care since I don't follow those sports.

everything's big in america. even lots of the people.

(FYI, america's no longer the most obese nation in the world--i'm pretty sure we were passed by australia this year).

i don't really know where i fall on the spectrum. i definitely buy at least a few new items each year, and i do have a tshirt obsession, but i never get rid of stuff either. unfortunately, that just means i put my big, american closets to good use, but my wardrobe is about 70% stuff i've had for years and 30% new stuff that year.

Aren't these so cute?? I need a pair of slippers!! They are on sale too, so I'd like to get them. The color I want doesn't have a working picture on the website, for some reason....:uneasy:
