Featured Replies

What do you think?

What's your opinion?

What song could become popular?

What songs should be the next coldplay's singles????

:lol::D

I think it's gonna be Lost! or Lovers in Japan for what i heard:thinking:

But i would love Strawberry Swing as a single

42 or Lost!

I think they'll get the biggest reaction.

I agree.

I love 42! :D

The next single will be Lost!. It was said during a radio interview.

...But what should be the next single? Cemeteries of London.

Lost! makes more sense though, it's quite commerical. I hope they re-recorded it so that it sounds more like the live version

Lost IS the next single, and after that it should be Lovers in Japan.

then Cemeteries.

Idealy I'd have liked CoL to have been next but they won't even play it live

I hope it's on the setlist for the UK tour.

Crests of waves ... :P they really should release it as a single !

on a more rational approach, I'd say Lovers in Japan

But we all know it might very well be Lost!..

Right.

There will be four singles from the album.

Two have already been released (Violet Hill, Viva La Vida).

Certain live performances of Lost! (already confirmed as the next single) have been filmed, presumably for promotional purposes.

The fourth single will be Lovers In Japan, unless the record company do a u-turn and go back on what's already been said.

How do I know this? Because the sticker on the front cover of the new record says so, meaning EMI had chosen the singles well in advance of the album's release.

I think it will be "Lost!" (as it has already been announced as the next single)...and I think that is the best choice, I love the song and it's the most radio/commercial friendly on the album. After that I'd say "Lovers in Japan".

While Lost! will be the next single more than likely, and Lovers in Japan after that, I really really wish they'd use Strawberry Swing.

It's the perfect summer song...and summer is almost gone :o

I would love 42 as a single, but I'm not sure its the right fit for a single. It's too different to do well mainstream.

One reason I think SS would do well is that on iTunes in the US store its like the fourth highest download on the album...which doesnt really mean much lol because they're all so close after VLV and VH, but I think it indicates that its got the most potential to be big.

agreed with everything you said :D

I'd love Strawberry Swing but it seems 42 or Lost! are more popular... maybe Lovers in Japan..

Well to that I have to say...the band have been interviewed as saying they aren't sure why everyone thinks Violet Hill is a single because they've never directly said that. At least thats what they said in an interview a little before the album came out.

So that means I've got hope for another besides the ones we know are likely to be singles.

I may be wrong but was The Hardest Part intended to be a single, because even though it was, I wasn't sure at the outset it was supposed to be. Actually maybe having a video for it doesn't imply its a single, but I thought it did although I never heard it on the radio.

Strawberry Swing needs to be heard by the masses. :nice: Or maybe Lovers In Japan, but haven't they made a video for that? I can't wait to see it.

While Strawberry Swing is one of my favorites on the album, I wouldn't want it as a single. Sometimes the best songs aren't the best single choices. I don't like the idea of SS being played out at radio all the time.

Dumb question, probably. But what exactly is the significance of this? I mean, a single gets a video, its own release (complete w/ b-side), and...what else? More publicity, I guess, but are there any more implications?

While Lost! will be the next single more than likely, and Lovers in Japan after that, I really really wish they'd use Strawberry Swing.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Either Lovers in Japan or Strawberry Swing

Funny...didn't a review once say Cemeteries of London would most likely be the first single? Now it doesn't look like it'll be a single at all, and they dont play it live. What happened, why do they hate that song so much?
