These are just examples of songs from different eras (I tried to get an even mix). To get a really accurate picture of the band, the first thing you should do is pick up an album. I suggest all four starting with parachutes and working your way through album to album. Most will agree that "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" is their best and most essential album. So if you only plan on buying one album, get that one (you won't be dissapointed, satisfaction guaranteed :D).

 

You are sort of right about chris's vocals. In 2005 he started using a lot of falsetto that became a little bit annoying. However, you see when he brings down the pitch that his voice is still as fresh as it used to be.

 

And yes, coldplay is one of the best live acts existing today, right up there with radiohead and muse.
