August 9, 200817 yr well....I think u should just go where YOU would like best to work... I mean it seems like u would just pick the first work for your friends and for the people who workes there...I mean...it's not the more polite thing maybe saying no in the last minutes, but if u feel like u would like the other job better I think u should chooose Walgreens ...
August 9, 200817 yr There's no guarantee you'd get the Walgreen one though, plus as you said would be a little harsh on the Stop n Shop lady. But you should just do what is going to make you happy, no point working somewhere you don't want to work I guess :)
August 9, 200817 yr It can really make you feel bad to do that kind of thing to a nice person you just met. It's your politeness :) . Mimi's right, if you didn't get the Walgreens job (if) then you would be even more disappointed... I don't know :uhoh:
August 9, 200817 yr Author Which is easier for you to get to? Do you drive? that's the thing, Walgreens is a lot farther and my dad isnt too crazy about giving me rides (I dont have a license or car).
August 9, 200817 yr that's the thing, Walgreens is a lot farther and my dad isnt too crazy about giving me rides (I dont have a license or car). mmmm then maybe u should pick the first job...but still...which one would u enjoy the most?
August 9, 200817 yr ^ I agree. Choose the second one as it's the one you wanted. Plus you havent signed anything yet for the first one, so it's not unpolite to say no now. Bosses can say no whenever they want, so do employees ! so if you happen to choose the other one, just dont go back and apply for that first shop ever again  that'd be unpolite ! edit : I didnt see what you said about your dad driving you to work... hmm in that case, I may reconsider what i just said..
August 9, 200817 yr Is it a part time job while you're in school or have you left school or whatever? Cause if it's part time, just do the one that's easier for you. The one where you know someone who's there, easiest to get to with no hassle. If it's a part time job, the main thing is the money and how much of a hassle it is for you. If you're relying on people to give you lifts to places, it makes work a much bigger deal than it has to be. Just take the easier option, on you and your dad (if he's the one who'd give you the rides) That's what I'd say, anyways.
August 9, 200817 yr I think you should take the offer of the new place, go to the interview of the new job... and then way up your options. I thought the job I had now was the worse one out the two i was offerd when I came to Barcelona its turned out to be one of the better jobs !
August 9, 200817 yr Go to the interview for the Walgreens job, when keeping the job offer for the first job open. If you get the job at walgreens then great as you can polity say 'thanks but no thanks' to the first job (maybe taking in a box of chocs as a way to saying sorry). If you don't get the job at walgreens, when you have the first job to fall back onto (and when you can give the Mods that box of chocolates)

August 9, 200817 yr I think you should take the Stop & Shop job.. ..yea that's all I have to say about that..
August 9, 200817 yr I think it's not about pleasing other people because in the end you're the one having to get up in the morning to go to that job you applied for. There are a whole bunch of nice people in the world but if you want to take that job at Walgreen's than you go for it!
August 10, 200817 yr Author Yea, Im going to the interview tomorrow but it's looking like most likely Ill end up working at Stop & Shop
