Sleeping in odd places

Featured Replies

Last night I slept on the sofa, to cut a long story short, after finishing with the computer I went downstairs to watch some telly (yes at 1:00 in the morning), I laid down on the sofa, head on the cushions with a fleece throw on top of me watching a film.

The next thing I know it was 10:00, the telly was moaning about having to enter a pin number and I had slept the night on the sofa. And surprisingly it was actually rather comfy.

Although truth be told, sleeping the night on the sofa wasn't as odd as sleeping the night on a bench outside Basingstoke Railway station after the coldplay concert back in 2005.

So the whole point of this thread is asking whenever you have slept in odd places.

Yes I have fallen alseep on a Bench in the street, also fallen alseep in a few toilets when I have been on sessions as well... in bars, nearly feel asleep in a strip bar one day too

One of my former housemates slept on the sofa all the time, like three times a week or something. And no, there was no drink involved most of the time. He was just weird...

I can't think of very weird places I've slept at. I feel asleep outside with no tent once (wasn't a good idea), in a train station, in a club... can't think of much else really.

..Back in the days..my boyfriend and I slept in a house under construction (concrete floor..)with a parachute for cover.

We were on a itch-hiking trip, back from visiting a friend who was skydiving for a competition, and we had bought a reformed parachute to use for decoration.

Thank God for it, for otherwise we would have nothing to cover ourselves with, when we found ourselves stranded in this village by nightfall, with no car in sight.

Well it was France (near Vannes, Britanny) and summer, and it was all fun in the end.

And a romantic memory.

i tend to not be able to sleep anywhere except my own bed, and sometimes not even then. but i've TRIED to sleep on numerous floors in the world (my old school in MANY places, manhattan, holland, various friends bedrooms) and on many a transportation device (cars, trains, planes). usually i'm pretty unsucessful and just have my eyes closed.

in an empty bath tub once after a party where there were no free beds...actually surprisingly comfy once you're on a blanket, otherwise it's pretty cold!

in a caravan on a driveway, or maybe a haunted mansion in Scotland

I did that for 4 days when I was over a couple of years ago. It was in the country (East Grinstead) so all you could hear was the rain...very relaxing!

Unfortunately, I've fallen asleep on a couple of floors after a few pints too many, lol. Not a pleasant way to wake up.

On a macdonalds terrace with my head on the table...

in my hangmat on the balcony... stayed there all night didn't sleep much though haha

I have difficulty sleeping in anything other than beds, I also tend to move around in my sleep alot and have sleepwalked a few times.

mm i feel asleep for a couple minutes after the radiohead concert in london, the police closed the tube station cause there were so many people trying to get in, so my dad and i went into a bar for half an hour to wait and i put my head down... i had been so overexcited and i realized i was really tired...so i dozed off for a bit. Woken up by an offer for a beer :P

That's interesting! I've fallen asleep on the couch out on the porch some lazy summer evenings, which is strange when you wake up to a chorus of crickets and frogs, thinking those are odd sounds to hear while in bed!:P

in a car that was parked in some random place in Norway with my family (5 people in total in a smallish car)

I also fell asleep on a bench thingy i have in my room when i was watching a movie a few years ago. It's quite hard and all my muscles were sore when i woke up in the morning

in a bar on a ferry on the way to Dublin. in a McDonalds in Dublin.

It's hard to fall asleep in a bed let alone an odd place :bigcry:

Uncountable times during classes...(Though I'm a good student)

Under my friends coffee table.

In a car park in Sunderland queueing for tickets to see Foo Fighters.

That's probably the biggest two.

yesterday, i was sleeping in the floor because the mattreses were wet.

i was very slept, then, i began to hear the rain.

i was deraming so good, when i started to have an odd sensation in my body...

i don't know how, but the water entered to the room! and i got wet!

it's hard for me to fall asleep.

but i once fell asleep on a bench. drunk as hell.

i guess the strangest would be on a ferry heading to venice. not so bad that i fell asleep on it - but i passed out on this old woman next to me. and apparently she rubbed my head the entire ride. she later said she pretended that i was her granddaughter which i thought was pretty cute.

fell asleep on a guy next to me on an airplane.

slept through iron & wine's set at lollapalooza - at least the grass was somewhat comfy.

i can sleep most anywhere and have a knack for falling asleep on strangers. it always turns into interesting conversations, and most the people have been good sports about it.

I fallen asleep in cars during long drives and on the couch. I actually don't like falling asleep on the couch because I wake up with a pain in my neck.

The weirdest place I've slept was at my friends house. Me and two of my other friends locked ourselves in her guest room [the party/sleepover was getting out of hand, long story] and I fell asleep on the floor with my back between a bookshelf and the door.

*Edit* I've also fallen asleep in a hospital waiting room. That was funny because when I woke up my mom was like, "Oh, your cheeks are piiiink! :nice:"

I also fall asleep riding trains. Whenever I'm in a moving vehicle I fall asleep.

And in French class while watching Casablanca. I had that class D bell, which is the longest bell of the day [it's a little over an hour and the other classes are 45 minutes] and that was hands-down the best sleep I've ever had. :P
