ths script = not heard it but seems rubbish :(

kol's new album= one of my favs this year :D

Currently, the 4 albums fighting for number 1 which I can't separate out at the moment are:

Elbow, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes & Seth Lakeman

The 5th album which isn't allowed for being a 2007 album is Capitan Melao's Lagrima

Elbow - Hands down, easy... Why are you even contemplating?

You have to check out Fleet Foxes! Drop your drawers and do it now.

Because the other 3 albums as equally great, but in difference ways, I just cannot think up with a good enough reason to place Elbow's wonderful album above the other 3 and vice versa.

I dunno, Fleet Foxes is good yes. Bon Iver not as good (a little dreary)

Elbow everytime for me. Never skipped a song of theres on my media player. Every song is ready for air play on the entire album.

Like I said each album is good in it's own way.

I assume that re-issues are banned

you forgot Modern Guilt-Beck

That eliminates Boy, October, and War

And a couple other 'deluxe' editions released this year

you forgot Modern Guilt-Beck

It's an okay album in my books, not strong enough to make the long-list

I assume that re-issues are banned

Yes. They are.

Sam Robers - Love at the end of the world

You mean The Sam Roberts Band? :nice: How is it? The first single (in hindsight heard all compressed and muffled on the car radio) really turned me off the album so I haven't looked into it yet. Though I really ought to.

It's a good little album, opened my ears to his earlier work

You have the comprehensive list I expected you would. I have an appreciation for your taste in music. However, Modern Guilt is pretty damn good in my book. I am surprised you didnt think so too.

Also, I cant believe I have forgotten all about Sun Kil Moons - April. It must not have made as big of an impact on me as I thought it had in the beginning. I need to up load that again to my Zen and give it some more listens before December gets here

1. VLVODAAHF- Coldplay

2. All Sides- O.A.R.

3. In Rainbows- Radiohead

4. Who We Are- Lifehouse

5. A Change of Season- A Change of Season:D

That's good. "Brother Down" is one of my favorite songs ever. I shall have to make an effort to hear the new album too.

3. In Rainbows- Radiohead
Sorry dude. In Rainbows topped last year's list, so isn't eligible this year.

A note on The Corrections' Repeat After Me.

It has not been officially released yet (due to label shenanigans) but promos have been in circulation for about three months now. Will we allow it?

Promos and leaks do not count.

If it is released by the deadline, (probably December 14th) it's fine. Dave mentioned The Little Flames barely existent album from last year. That was a special case since the official album did exist to some extent, and there never was going to be a release since the band split up.

If it comes to something like that, I'll take a look at it closer to the deadline, ok? ;)

Lists-in-progress are now linked in the first post so you can find them again easily!:D Proper instructions to follow in the near future.

If I missed anyone, or if you repost your list in another post, make sure you let me know.

To all the people randomly mentioning single albums especially the "Dig Out Your Soul" crowd, I'm assuming an actual list will be a little more you know, list-like if and when you actually post one...

Sorry for the intentional triple post. It does make things easier. :embarassed:

I have enough trouble trying to get my list down to 25, so Beck might make a return if I listen to the album again

What about Joe Ling and the Jing Jang Jong album which got cancelled a week or so before release date as the record label didn't want to take a risk?
