LOVE their music! Ive never met anyone that has heard there music... Glad to finally know someone has heard of them!:D

Viva La Vida is obviously the one

I disagree, it doesn't even feature in my top 10 albums of the year so far list.

says the one person who didn't put coldplay in their favorite artists lists.....

Slightly revised list. Perfect Symmetry is *just* outside the top ten at the moment. Only By the Night has gotten a bit stale. It's good, but it isn't brilliant like the rest of the albums in my top ten.

Oh, and the new Dartz album is fantastic.

Yeah, whats up with that? Definitely my favorite, I think its their best. Just slightly better than AROBTTH...

THE MUSIC - STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

themusic.jpg

Remember The Music? In 2002 they released thier debut self-titled album (and easy to google) The Music, featuring such tracks as The People and Getaway. They had only just gotten out of high school and already they are touring the world and producing radio hits. The second album saw the band vastly grow on thier songwriting abilities for a much more accessable second album. The Music were going to be huge, but young life on the road takes it's toll. Singer Robert Harvey became an alcholic and the other members were rethinking thier musical ambitions. It could've been so easy for the band to call it all off at this point.

4 years passed and The Music dissapeared from the limelight whilst the band got thier personal lives in order. With much help Robert kicked his addictions and began to focus on music again. Eventually they returned to the studio with Flood and half of Orbital to create thier most emotionally honest record to date.

It's easy to see how The Music have evolved through this experience. Whilst the title track "Strength In Numbers" reassures fans that The Music are back and might have never been away, songs like "Idle", "Drugs" and album closer "Inconcivable Odds" could not have been done earlier in thier career. My personal highlights are "The Left Side" and "Vision", dark tracks with some of the best singalong choruses this year.

The album's production makes for a challenging listen at first which has turned many people off the band's 3rd effort, however I found despite bizzare tracklisting choices this album just keeps getting better and better with each repeated listen. Whether you want to be swept away into a dreamy world or rock out and dance like crazy, there's bound to be something on "Strength In Numbers" which takes your fancy.

^^You need at least 5 entries for your list to count. Care to add to that? Eh, Dave beat me to it. ;)

That is a very good question. Last year eps of exclusively original material were allowed. The year before no eps were allowed. BUT nothing previously released or live was allowed, and Prospekts March is not entirely new so even if they are allowed, it probably won't count.

Hmm. I'll get back to you on it.
