Lots of god music this year. I'll get my draft in soon.

Good work, Other Mo :nice:

Probably the best album of the year so far is Death Cab - Narrow Stairs,

closely followed by VLV and Bloc Party - Intimacy.

I'm fairly sure All-American Rejects - When The World Comes Down and Snow Patrol - A Hundred Million Suns will be in there somewhere, too.

Thanks, proper Mo. :D

What about Joe Ling and the Jing Jang Jong album which got cancelled a week or so before release date as the record label didn't want to take a risk?
What I can find on it says they're still planning to release a new version of it next year. I suppose I possibly could allow it if you were desperate to include it, but it would make it really awkward next year.

I'm finding it hard enough to:

1 - Narrow my list down to 25

2 - Sort out albums from 5 to 25

I might just do a top 5 and have another list afterwards

Hmm, yeah, I think I might do the same. It is going to look well cluttered up there in December if I don't.

Top 6:

1 - Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid

2 - Tom Baxter - Skybound

3 - Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

4 - Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

5 - Seth Lakeman - Poor Man's Heaven

6 - Yeti - The Legend of...

*edit - forgotten how great Skybound is*

There are, like, seven (!) albums out next month that I'm buying. That is quite an amount.

Although I've already mentioned two on my (updated) list.

EDIT: You finally managed to separate those then Dave? :D

For the time being, no doubt they would be swapping around.

Anyone else dissapointed by either the new Travis album and/or Ben Folds album, I don't think they'll be making the top 2008 albums list

I found Metallicas Single ' the day that never comes' average wasnt that good and was too long

Damn. why all of you guys get to buy as many albums as you want. You guys must be very rich with money....... I have a hard time saving for one....Getting MY VIva copy for free because my aunt bought it..sigh

I do buy quite a few though.

And again, a bump. I'll officially get this all kicked off as soon as test season is over and I have a tiny bit of extra time.

I know what you mean, on the rare occasions I have a bit of spare pocket change it usually goes to music, but I can't afford much of anything either.

That doesn't mean you can't listen, even if you're against illegal downloading. I usually keep one eye on myspace album premiers. That's the best way for me to hear ones I'm interested in these days. Some bands will preview albums on their website or lastfm or msn. Back when I had a bit of spare money to afford it, I used to have a yahoo subscription- unlimited music for about 7 or 8 bucks a month. It was nice.

If you're a compulsive new music listener like me, there are ways.

Always. Lots of free streams over the internet to listen to.

Pretty much all of the albums I've been wanting to hear this year have come out so I should be able to do a proper list soon. Just a few more weeks for Snow Patrol and Computerclub, and I've lost hope of new records from Lost Valentinos or The Boxer Rebellion appearing this year.

*gets pritt stick out*

My task of narrowing down my list to 25 albums has gotten harder with:

Duncan Lloyd - Seeing Double

Department of Eagles - In Ear Park

Iain Archer - To The Pine Roots

And for my "great albums of 2008 which are not allowed to be included" list gets

Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series Volume 8 - Tell Tale Signs
