Postcards From Far Away project | Previous pre-delivery discussion (thread closed)

Featured Replies

Hey fellas I was reading the local newspaper and saw a review about "Road to Guantanamo", a film co-directed by Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross. Then I saw a line where they said Mat was preparing a documentary about Coldplay. After a short research I found this

"Mat Whitecross has spent a lot of time working with Coldplay over the past year or so, from making the dancing politicians viral for Violet Hill, to live stuff. And he’s certainly not done yet. In fact, he is now preparing to shoot a documentary about the band as they spend ’09 plugging away at touring the current album and making the next one."

Sorry if it's old news, but do you think our postcards have any chance to be part of this documentary?? I believe so :nice: Wouldn't it be awesome??!!

^^exactly! :nice:

that's what i've been trying to say all along :D. however, when we KNOW something is coming for us, it's hard not to be excited :P

EDIT:

cris, don't get my hopes up! :bigcry:

i seriously doubt it, though. it says PREPARING to shoot, and i figure that they're not going to tote the postcards around with them for the rest of their lives, or even keep them in a box somewhere forever :P.

but OMGZ COLDPLAY DOCUMENTARY :freak:

It'll be soon guys, I'm sure! I just hope it doesn't happen next Monday or Tuesday- I won't have internet at all :uhoh:

Hugs for everybody!!! :hug::hug::hug:

Yeah! Postcards on it would be super awesome, but only the idea of having another documentary is already wonderful!!

when Cris posted about the documental, I just thought about a dvd... I don't think the postcards will be in it though... ok, I'm not optimistic anymore about coldplay related things.

Oh I forgot to mention... that quote I posted was from January 19th :D He was preparing to shoot on that day... 'til when is a surprise :P

^shouldn't that tidbit of info have its own thread? to me, the news of a coldplay documentary is HUGE!

Since I've been busy and haven't had much time to check the others threads I really thought it was old news to you!! Are you sure it haven't been posted?? I'll create a new thread then ;)

The doco might be on the tour dvd which might feature a special feature called "Postcards from far away" where they talk about and show us all the postcards.

Ok :bomb: now I am definitely dreaming .

:idea2:

If he was already at the Bakery filming for this documentary, maybe Debs recruited him to film the delivery, and that's what we're waiting for!

let's stop the speculation before i explode :bomb: :P

i would think that if matt whitecross had anything to do with filming something about the project, it would be for the greater purpose of this documentary, which we won't see for at LEAST a year. i don't think they'd make us wait THAT long for us to get our surprise.

besides "preparing to shoot" can mean any frame of time. just because that was posted somewhere on january 19 doesn't mean he started shooting the 20th :P. the postcards were delivered the 28th, yes, but who knows if he's even started shooting yet? it's just too much uncertainty.

however, this would fit, with the hints debs has given and with why it's taking so long.

i need to shut up. this stuff makes me go off way too far into dreamland.

I also believe Chris picked up your postcard, kissed it and rolled around with it.

hahaha Chris, you're mean :P

I also believe Chris picked up your postcard, kissed it and rolled around with it.

:embarassed: This comment makes me wonder about the legitimacy of your post on Grammy night... you know, when you said that Will whispered "I love Zoe" at the end of the acceptance speech?

:P

:p

awww that made me laugh :D

Well either way.. I'm still going to be waiting.. just like I've been waiting for that dvd... which I wrote on the postcard lol :embarassed: OMG! Do you think they are doing a documentary this time for this tour? :idea2:

man this thread is getting depressing.

lets re-focus boys & girls.

We did a really cool thing and sent lots of love in the post to 4 men who we think are amazing.

Thanks to Debs, we know that they received the love.

Anything else is a bonus. We know that we will find out more, we just have to be patient. Its already an amazing thing & we're really lucky that there's going to be more to come. We don't want to look ungrateful by moaning every day.

so,

back to the jaffa cakes :P

Point well made, Jen, but as I've said before, I'm not a fan of the jc's. So I'm going to throw another biscuit from my childhood in to our discussion.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the wagon wheel:
