Okay, well I also think that maybe we could suggest to Debs, if she doesn't want to give us the Bakery address and there's no mailbox, that we could coordinate opening a PO box with her (with no expense to them). Very far-flung and slightly crazy, but it could be a good plan D... or Z :P

hmm. i think that might be pushing it, but that's just me. i really think that we should be as self-reliant as possible, in the nature of safety and in the nature of being particularly awesome fans :D

i'm working on a draft of the email to debs, and i have a question:

do we, in fact, want debs to tell the guys about our plan? obviously we're letting debs know, but do we think that it would be even MORE special if the band didn't know about it at all until debs told them one day to go look in their mailbox? i think it would be a really cute surprise, but maybe that's a crap idea. just wondering how i should phrase things in the email draft.

it would be better if it's a surprise!

but we should tell her about our delivery plans... and see if maybe she can help us in any way

Yeah, I just meant as a really last resort, if we hit a lot of road blocks...

Hmmm... If telling them would help the project in any way (although I can't imagine how it would), she can tell them. Otherwise, let's leave it a surprise! :)

yay! i think it would be so nice if it was a surprise.

so, we're supposed to tell her that we plan to drop off the load of cards at the bakery's postbox? or should we hold off saying that until she's given us a better address or not?

Hmmm... I think maybe you could tell her that ideally, we'd love an address, but if that's impossible we've worked out a couple of alternatives.

Although if there isn't a mailslot we're almost back to square one...

yes, i'm terrified that it's not a mailslot or something, or that it goes with some other building than the bakery :uhoh:. i want that to be the solution to all of this SO BADLY!

i said in the draft that if she couldn't give us a better address than the EMI one, we plan to send them to a coldplayer who will drop them off in person. the EMI plan then becomes our plan B.

maybe we should tell her that we know that it's almost impossible that a coldplaying user could give the postcards directly to the band.. but maybe she can help us and tell us that if someone of their crew could receive the postcards and then give all the postcards to the guys

not to play a broken record, but don't you guys think it would be a bit more cool (and polite, for lack of a better word) if we could pull this off ourselves? and if she really thinks its a better idea to have someone meet the coldplayer to pick them up, she could suggest that herself. otherwise, i think we should say self-sufficient, but tell me to shut up if you all think that's stupid.

I think realistically, we're going to need a little help to pull this off. It's better to ask for some help in order to insure this works, than to try completely on our own and risk messing it up. Better safe than sorry! :/

good point. i just don't think we should *expect* help, or rely on it unless it's offered. asking can't hurt, definitely, but i'm just not that optimistic about them going out of their way for us when they have jobs to do and do so much already, that's all :D

We could send them all to the Bistro and ask them to please bring these to your neighbors. :laugh3:

I can see it now.....

*knock knock* Could you PLEASE ask your damn fans to stop sending postcards to our bistro....*throws cards at Chris when he answers the door*

pretty idea hahah sounds cool, I'd like to make my postcards from far here but I'm not much into those things and I like software

Psshh, we're so awesome, and this project is so awesome, they won't be able to resist! ;)

But seriously, I think we should just focus on getting the letters out to our contacts for now, and worry about the responses when we get them. If they can't help, we'll find a way. We've definitely discussed enough alternatives! And if they can help, that's great. But we won't know until we ask. :)

yeah it'd be better try to do most of this by ourselves... they're busy people :P

I just added a poll to see how many of us will participate in the project

yeah it'd be better try to do most of this by ourselves... they're busy people :P

Obviously the more we can do by ourselves, the better, but if they're willing to help us.... Again, we won't know until we ask :)
