just like 3 days :P

According to houseprices.co.uk (and also ourproperty.co.uk):

2a Fleet Road was sold for an extortionate amount (£499,995) on 30th November 2006. No mention at all of 4a being bought/sold.

Check out no.14 at the following link - http://www.houseprices.co.uk/fleet-road-camden-london-nw3/11/

4 Fleet Road is Ravel's Bistro

2 Fleet Road is DayMorris (Estate Agents)

OMG Coldplay are a bunch of squatters!!!! They just moved into an abandoned building!:o

:P:laugh3::lol:

good night

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, I've PM'd Lore with more details about a PO Box - it takes 10 days to set one up, I have an application form ready to go if that's what we decide to do.

Can I just throw in my two cents about delivering to The Bakery?

I know it's the "spiritual home" and in our heads we have this lovely image of Chris opening the door to find thousands of postcards on the welcome mat - but would that be the reality? They're heavily in to a tour at the moment, when they get some free time, will that really be where they are headed? Especially with Christmas approaching, won't they just be spending time with their families?

I'd hate to go all the way to London to find the mailslot covered, or worse, to post the cards and have them not be discovered for six months...

^^ Where would we deliver them if not to the Bakery? I'm not too crazy about the EMI idea, and we definitely can't drop them at a gig. That's just way too risky.

just like 3 days :P

God, has it only been three days?! I feel like I've been working on it for my entire life :stunned:

I agree... that's why some kind of "official" help would be awesome.. even if we ca't really be sure that they'll be able to help us

I must say that i'm really happy because there's so many people interested in this ..

edit: the first post is from october 6th :P.. so.. 3 days!

it was at 22:14pm here.. so

less than 3 days really :P

well, just a thought i'm gonna throw in, but i think they definitely hang out at the bakery when they're in london even though they might not be recording anything.

in that other thread about the travis concert chris attended, chris said he was late for the concert because he was in the studio.

i guess we just have to make sure they're in london when the postcards arrive.

I wouldn't just turn up two minutes before the lights go down and demand an audience with Chris Martin. I figure if we can get Debs to give us the name of a member of the crew, I can go down in the morning and pass it on then. Surely there'd be someone to take them off my hands...

^ I say we aim for when they're playing at O2 in London, I think they'll definitely stop into the Bakery at some point during that time...

EDIT: I still think trying at a gig isn't a good idea, I know Chelsea thinks so too.

the gig would be a good idea only if we agree with debs or someone else that there will be someone who will definitely receive the postcards and then give the postcards to the guys...

in other case it'd be a bit risky

Definately!

Surely Debs could arrange it for us - after all, we did get a name check from the Oracle...

I think, unless when we contact Debs she suggests otherwise, leaving postcards at The Bakery is the BEST bet the guys would see get them quickly/safely, especially if they're delivered in December, like we're planning(right?). The whole point of The Bakery is to use as their "headquarters" and supposedly relatively close to all their homes for easy access. And if they'll be doing shows in London in Dec., I'm sure someone from band/crew will stop by at some point...so if it's not Chris himself who first discovers the "big box o' luv' (like we're all fantasizing) someone who can get to the guys to let them know will be around.

Also, aren't we pretty sure that someone related to the band lurks around here occasionally?? Even if when we try to contact Debs, it doesn't get through or we don't get a response, I have a feeling that with this thread being in the top 5 everyday lately, it's been noticed.

I know this whole project has a lot of "maybes" attached to it, but I dunno, I've got a really good feeling about it. I think it will all work out!!!:) (I have been listening to a lot of Coldplay today, which always leaves me feeling optimistic -uncharacteristic for me!-gives me good vibes about this)

P.S. RedGirl you are THE BEST for volunteering yourself with the PO Box thing!

Ahhhh! I jus read this, it's such a lovely idea!! :D *working on the postcard*

keep in mind that they all live within minutes of the bakery, and i bet they pop in from time to time when they're not officially recording, whether to get away from the house or record an idea or because they've forgotten something there. as long as we keep our drop-off date sometime around the O2 concert dates or close to christmas, which i'm under the impression the plan is, they're probably going to be at home, meaning near the bakery. as long as you're willing to do it and there is a mailslot so we don't have to leave them out anywhere, i think this is still the best way of going about doing it. every method has its risks, this one being that the mailslot will be blocked, but i think the risks are even greater in the other methods.

also, in the email, i asked debs (i think) if she had any other suggestions for how we could get our cards directly to the band, so we'll see if she says anything :D

but maybe someone from London could go to check if the mail slot is open and then Alison can go there

I have faith, too! After analyzing and throwing out basically every possible scenario for 3 days and 52 pages, there's no way this won't work out. We have so many plans there aren't enough letters in the alphabet :P

We've just got to get some emails out there, and then this thing will really get rolling! It's very exciting... Who knew it'd turn into this when Lore posted that little idea on the Prospekt's March EP thread?

Yes, I really think the mailslot idea has the fewest risks. I think we should aim for the day of the first O2 gig. That way they'll have a bit of a chance to get over there and discover them before they run off again :P

when is that concert?

i've also finally figured out how to express why the "drop them off with a crewmember somewhere in london" plan bothers me:

a common practice with fanmail for very popular bands and people like coldplay is that there are hired people to open and sort through it all who set aside only the most interesting letters or whatever for the band to read. i feel like if alison arranged a meeting with someone to pick up the cards for the band in london, that person would then give them to someone in management (because i can't really imagine the management sending anyone more than a gopher with no direct band contact to pick up some letters from a fan), and then management would sort through them and only pick out the coolest/most interesting cards, and the vast majority of our work would go to waste. i don't know if this is how EMI and/or coldplay handle their fanmail, but its a very real possibility. i feel like if we threw the letters in the mailslot of the bakery, the band would DEFINITELY see them since the bakery is their place, not official management HQ. in all honesty, i would feel better about the cards sitting on the other side of the door for months with a guarantee that the boys would see them eventually the next time they popped by rather than only having the ten coolest cards ever get seen by the band.
