Postcards!!!!

.............................

that is like the most random-back-of-a-postcard ever.......

but tonight i'll try to come up with some design for the PFFA/coldplaying logo!!! ;)

What a good idea!! I'm in.

I'm gonna think in a logo

Thanks Lore

.

we have to wait to decide the delivery method but we could start to think about the postcard itself

since we said that all the postcards can be different there's no much to decide... only where will we write the "postcards from far away thing" and a logo..

ohh and the custom template too... it might be useful for those who don't know how to make the postcard :D

we have to agree also in a measure... Chelsea posted the average measure of a postcard, it's in the first post :)

Maybe this could be the first poll, deciding:

- how many cards can one send

- what the actual logo should be

- compulsory thingies to write on, I mean nickname, country, the name of the project

- and that it is for all band members

Do you agree?

Btw Lore, I think all projects need someone to handle them and since you came up with the idea for me it seems totally clear that it could be you :) Not to make a boss or whatever but we are too many involved in this thingie already and when there are more then 2 person working on something, a decision maker kind of person is needed :D

All I mean is totally positive abt this promotion of yours :)

By the way just finished reading Anybody Out There by Marian Keyes wher there are butterflies as the metaphor of the lost loved ones.. I thought of the guys instantly and I love this butterfly themes project more and more with every moment.:D

Lovers, keep on the road your on....

This should be our motto for the moment as we are the lovers (of coldplay) and the road we're on should lead to something great.... Just a thought.

I can try to organize it and Chelsea is helping a lot too... but all the help from everyone is really appreciated :D

we'll make polls soon we all will vote :D

I agree, the butterflies theme is really beautiful... it's spring here and everytime that I see a butterfly I think about the band

I think all of us like the butterflies idea :nice: It's so Coldplay :D

I'm back!

Soooooooo.... What have I missed? :P I was expecting to find like 20 new pages, luckily there were only 3!

it's because now almost everyone knows about the project :P

it's because now almost everyone knows about the project :P

I HOPE they do, after we've wasted away several days on this thread and posted almost 650 posts!

I didn't see any big breakthroughs on the posts I missed, though. We're still waiting on mailbox confirmation, right?

I'll be at the Bakery on Friday, and will be able to confirm if they can receive post there and (possibly) the postal address (that's if someone else who's already been there won't confirm for us sooner than that - and plenty of people have been so I don't see why not).

If it is decided that all the postcards will be sent to a reliable and willing 'Post(wo)man' in London/the UK to be delivered all together, then there's one more very important point to consider. That is, unless that person has their own business address, there will be probably thousands of postcards/letters (with the two postcards in) arriving within a few weeks at somebody's home. It just isn't practical I don't think (and quite honestly it's very risky (Lhunacy??) to give thousands of people around the world your home address anyway, no matter how wonderful almost all of them are).

SO. The answer is for that person in the UK to get a PO Box just for the postcards. Their normal mail would be delivered to their home, and the 'good stuff' gets delivered to a private box at the nearest postal exchange. It takes ten days to set up, and costs just under £50 for six months, or £60 for the year (probably not needed).

If this was the case then I'd suggest very small donations via Paypal to cover the cost of the PO Box for the person who is kind enough to put in so much effort for Coldplayers all around the world. It would only need 100 donations of £0.50 (US $1) to pay for.

There would also be the added benefit of calling the PO Box 'From Far Away' or something like that (one of the the few compulsory things on the card could be From: Far Away, PO Box xxx') Wouldn't it be cool if even a little letter or thank you was sent back to that mysterious address by someone connected to the band, to be shared back with everyone??!

All this assumes we can find that one person in the UK to make this great effort for everyone....

Hello

Here comes my logo.

Its handmade, and it needs photoshop now. Its made with black ink. Whats your opinion?

(Argh..., I have to find and install photoshop now....) :P

they still need technical tweaking, and the background colors don't mean anything. but there you go :P

very good point; i was thinking a bit about this too. as much as i'd be willing to do it if i was over there, i wouldn't give out my home address online. i love the idea of a temporary PO box and a fund to help get it set up! or perhaps the person will have a viable business address or something too...we'll have to see (did redgirl76 tentatively volunteer, or am i making that up?)

i think we'll have more answers by next week at any rate.

ApproximatelyInfinite, we had the same idea with the position of the words in a circle!

I love that postmark idea, can I use it?

(really, sorry for my english, I know, its horrible)

If we go the "send postcards to a coldplayer to deliver" route, I really don't think we should expand this to too many other fan sites. That's just a LOT to ask of someone, even if we use a PO Box. The poor postpeople will have to deal with it too!!

EDIT: mygdalom and Chelsea, great logos! How are we going to choose?!?!

Hi there,

Yes, I did tentatively volunteer, although I hadn't thought about the implications of giving out my Home address to any random person who stumbles on to this site

I work in a school, so gettin stuff delivered there is possible, but if there were hundreds, it could be a problem.

If I can find out how to sort out a temporary PO Box, then I can defo do it. As I said last night, I can go to London at the beginning of December. Someone also mentioned passing them to someone at a concert - I'm going to the Liverpool gig, so that would be totally easy to do.

I love the logos everyone. Especially the butterflies. As for the PO box idea, its probably the biggest advancement we've have in the last 24hours so now we need to get that set up. Are we getting busybeeburns to make an annoucement on the site? I can't wait till this becomes opperational.
