^ me too. i'd bet a lot of us will be spending some time this weekend finishing them up. i made about five different versions of mine yesterday afternoon, and i can't decide which one i like best. by monday i should have a stack big enough to sell on street corners for a dime each :P

 

 

i don't see how it should be a problem for people overseas though. if we send them sometime around monday.. they probably wouldn't get to the PO box very much before Dec. 1st anyway.

i think you're probably fine. aren't most stamps basically stickers these days anyway? i haven't seen one that you lick in years, basically :P. the sticker ones would definitely stick to the lamination.

 

and as for the ink marks that the PO puts on them, the front of most postcards are usually glossy anyway. i think the post office would deal with it :D

 

don't know if you can get them everywhere but I have a packet of self-laminating cards. they're postcard sized, and the back is card and the front is a protected, self-adhesive piece of plastic. you put what you want on the card, pull the backing off, and stick the plastice down. no laminating machine needed, and you have a cardboard side to do your writing & put your address on.

I think I got it from either Staples or PC World

in the first post, i added a paragraph about how debs will ONLY ACCEPT POSTCARDS RELATED TO THE PROJECT at this address. no packages, parcels, large envelopes, demos, or anything other than POSTCARDS will be seen by the band. keep in mind that debs has gone out of her way to set up this P.O. box for us for the project only, and that in order to maintain a good relationship with her and for things like this to work well in the future, we can't abuse her kindness. there is another address for everything else to be sent to which would work just as well, since debs is only dropping off the postcards to the guys. so, don't even think about sending anything but un-enveloped postcards :wink:.

 

 

maybe mention that there will be no individual responses for anything sent to the PO BOX. So the autograph hunters etc will be aware that its 1-way traffic only. We're giving to the band and not asking for anything in return.

 

 

Didn't get notification of PO Box number as promised today. I will call them on Monday to find out why and hopefully they will let me know the address then.....

Hold off sending them 'til then.

Good news and possibly bad news....

I got a letter from Royal Mail with the PO Box address (yay!) but for some insane reason it says "starting Dec 1st" (grr).

 

I told them what it was for and how important it was and I needed it asap and they said I'd get the address on the 21st and could use it from then!

 

So...... this is what I suggest...

 

Check the last posting dates from your area and then if you can wait til the 1st, do (ie UK). Otherwise I reckon the international peeps can post now. I am sure that's fine. I will assume that I can't pick up until 1st Dec which is of course won't effect the project... as long as the box is able to receive that's not a problem.

I will call them on Monday so will let you know if they advise me differently.

I have a question because of our logo. How do I have to print it that I get it in the correct size? So that it isn't printed all over the paper. I mean, the high resolution thing.. I guess it would print it giantly all over the paper, right? :embarassed:

MONDAY will most likely be the day, so be sure to visit the thread then. if it's not up in the first post, odds are we haven't gotten it yet, or i just haven't seen that debs has posted it yet. since i basically live on this board, though, i can pretty much guarantee it won't be more than like 3 hours from when we get it to when it's in the first post.

 

my point is that you won't miss it as long as you come to the board regularly, no way. just be patient and don't worry :D

that's a good point. we were just worried about people abusing the PO box, especially since you were nice enough to set it up for us at our request! we weren't sure if you were going to close the PO box once the project was over or not, but it's a good idea to keep it open! i'll go change the first post now :wink:.
