Wasn't the runner up video the shoot you reported on this forum a while back? Wasn't it a professional video company that made it?

I really don´t understand why they did the contest?this was supposed to be a fn contest!!!

I think that that has been a very bad choose, very very bad.

I feel really dessapointed with the decission!!

Are we sure about that for the winning entry? That's certainly true for the runner up but I'm not sure that's the case for 1)

 

If it is, it kinds of defeats the whole idea of a fan video competiition. Why ask fans to produce a video, if you wanted a professionally made one. Why didn't they just commission one and post it up on their site, like they did with Lovers in Japan!

 

 

 

Here's an idea for Coldplay to redeem themselves. Hold a gig open to all the competition entry peeps (or alternatively one in UK, US, Aus, EU) and invite the entrants + 1 guest to it (non expenses paid this time). It would be a nice way to say thanks and a chance for us all to meet the band.

I think it's very good technically however I'm rather annoyed to learn it's a) made before the competition opened (and thus not subject to the time constraints we all were) and b) it's a professional film making company doing it, as was the runner up!

LOL, I share your frustration at them choosing film companies (and not home made) entries.

 

All I can say is they should consider themselves lucky we've put up with their homemade clothes these last 6 months and not eschew them for not having the satorial elegance to shop at Armani! :rolleyes:

however, my point is, like it or not:

there were more than 10 better videos that thins onE. the ONLY quality is claymation, THE ONLY QUALITY. i repeat. only a 9 year old girl would chose the winning video. I REALLY HATE THE SET UPS

I rather find it odd that a story re the shooting of the runner up film was posted on this site by the mods about two weeks ago!

 

Perhaps those "in the know" knew something we didn't?

pinata_smasher: have you considered that it isn't politics? that they perhaps genuinely liked the winning video (which they prolly did, seeing as they chose it). The video was sweet and even if the person who made it is a professional, it doesn't mean he put any less effort into it as anyone else did, he prolly put more considering all the little details that are in it.

 

also, those who think the winning vid sucks must be watching a different video than me. But honestly, a lot of the videos ppl have posted in this thread (mine included) are not that great (of course, I've seen some wonderful ones too). I think I've honestly seen about 8/10 of the entries online and 7.5/10 of them were/are pretty bad.
