Coldplay Still Looking to do 2009 Album

So based on what the Rolling Stone article clarified, apparently the band (or simply Chris lol) want to put out another album with Eno next year. You would have thought that with all the tracks they have released already (what is it? six new ones including lhuna) that they might have difficulty with a full new album.

Maybe this is also why the Roadie blog highlighted Chris writing new material during a break.

Do you guys think they're simply being outwardly ambitious and that the material won't materialize until after 2009 or that there's actually a good chance this will happen?

Dang. Just Dang.

I was hoping , as much as I love VLV, that the guys would veer off into an even fresher, newer direction, say....away from the Eno influence:thinking:

Though I`m keeping in mind of course that NEW ALBUM = TOUR WOO HOO, so I`ll take wotever they put forth!

Same here. I really hope they'll not take Eno back. Need something fresh.

But I guess we'll really have a LP5 at the end of 2009 or maybe early 2010..the boys keep telling so...

well it would be lovely cause they HAVE TO COME BACK TO NY TO THIS SPRING OR I AM GOING TO EXPLODE (South America too Lore)

definitely.

Because they only did some free shows in NY and Tv shows. But not a full-length concert which we can pay for tickets and go into our seats and watch it.

The free shows are just so irritating any person can be randomly selected and they are not even seeing whether they're big fans or not for the band.

I still remember when i am almost going in to see SNL taping with stand by tickets and then because not having space enough they made all the people with stand by tickets go away.:(The free shows just suck.

I'm going to agree with you there. I really didn't care for Eno's influence on the latest album and was hoping for a change up on the new material.

On another note I think 2009 is rather ambitious for a man/band to release a new LP when on average they've taken at least 2 years between albums in the past. There not even giving themselves a full year to work on it as they have tour dates well into this spring. And didn't Chris always say in the past there needed to be space between the albums so they could go home and remember what its like to be normal before writing again. He needs to get over this fear of aging, he's only 31 for crap sake.
