The Hardest Part thoughts

Featured Replies

When I was listening to this song, I realised that this song would fit to the Viva la vida album much better than to X & Y ... what do you think about that? The Hardest Part is diffent than other songs from x and y ;p muuch other :) hope you'll say what do u thinki :) love :p

I always thought The Hardest Part seemed a bit out of place on X&Y as the other tracks all seemed to have that cosmic, outer space kind of synthy vibe to them, and THP was so POP. Has there been a poll yet to find out which version is more popular - full band version or Chris on his own? I think that'd be a good poll to get going...

By the way, maybe this should be moved to the Releases forum? If it's fine here then ignore me :P

If I would know how to make it :) I would move it ;p

I love THP!!!

Especially the piano version.

I had goosebumps when Chris played it in Strasbourg!

So moving...

The hardest part at the 02 was being stuck between such total d*ckheads at both concerts!!

I'm with Sue, that b-stage version we got to see on tour gave me goosebumps too.

One of the first things I did to help my post concert crash was come here and scour the Media section here for that piano version. And of course my fellow Coldplayers did not let me down.

As for which album it belongs on, I think that in the end ther is definately a method to the boy's maddness, I'm just glad Chris saw fit to bring it out on tour. It's a GEM

It's my most played Coldplay song on my iPod. I get what you're saying, but I don't think it would have fit on VLVODAAHF.

it probably fits better on X&Y than VLVOD. It may be a little out of place though

I don't know, I think its better than most stuff on Viva..:::hides::: but I did thoroughly enjoy the guitar version of this song they played in SanJose. It was just fantastic.

I have a love-hate relationship with the album version. Sometimes I feel happy hearing it, but most of the time I can't stand it.

The video is awkard, the only thing I like about it is that they filmed their part in St.Petersburg, Florida (quite close to where I live). They didn't tell their fans this.

At the concert, the piano version sound really nice though.

i love the piano version. i don't have anything against the album version, though, at least besides the music video. i just think the piano version is nicer :D. the band seem to have a similar love/hate relationship with the song, though: chris once said two of the band members hate it and two of them love it. i figure chris and will love it, since chris is the one that plays it pretty much solo on tour, and will has to OK everything that goes on the album :P. i bet jonny and guy don't like it, and they don't even really play on it live!

i think i get what you're saying about it fitting better on VLVOD, but i think it's fine where it is on X&Y.

I get how it doesn't sit that well on X & Y, but frankly I just don't think it's good enough for VLVODAAHF

And I must be the only one thinking this, but I really like the video. It's completely original, done with a lot of humour... and Guy looks really hot in it :P

hmm I'm not sure, I always thought THP was the best part of X&Y. It was definitely my favorite song on that album.

haha, i like the COLDPLAY parts of the video. chris also looks particularly gorgy in it, IMO. but the old lady in spandex and the man in the thong is just kinda...disturbing. if it was just them the entire time, i'd love it, or if the shots of them were interspersed with something less disturbing .

Aye, the piano version is very nice. What you say about two of them liking it (Chris and Will) and the other two (Jonny and Guy) hating it is true. I read it somewhere, but I don't remember exactly where.

The video is not THAT bad, it's just the male dancer wearing a thong who ruins it for me :( . Quite different from what Coldplay usually does for their videos. They all look really handsome with the Floridian look  That's why they should shoot all their videos here :D

god ur sooo right, Im listening to it now and i totally understand what do u mean!

Hmm Maybe it would fit on Viva, if it were the piano version, The whole version just might not cut it. What a fantastic song this is live though, Wow. Makes me Shiver.

hmm if not on viva la vida, maybe would fit on prospekt's march :)

The Hardest Part is a beautiful song. In my opinion, it was perfect for the X&Y album (which is still my favourite Coldplay album, although the others are all fantastic).

I love The Hardest Part, but if we compare songs like Low, White Shadows, Twisted Logic or Square One we can discover some similarities ;]

Oooh, that's harsh!

I don't love it, but there's much worse on X & Y

Well, personally, there are only three Coldplay songs I would say I hate and two of them are on X & Y

Don't hate me people, 'cos I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me here... I really don't like "A Message" and I cannot stand "Swallowed In The Sea" - it's like nails down a blackboard to me, though I have no idea why...

(The other one that I really can't stand is "A Whisper" from AROBTTH, which is just pure filler to me)

Swallowed and A Message are two of the better songs on X&Y for me :bigcry:

:P

And I guess The Hardest Part is one of the 'quite good' songs on that album, but I like the paino version that Chris performs live more I think :nice:

I think if anything, the piano version of that song that would fit on Viva better than the X&Y version.
