Leona Lewis is keen to work with Coldplay on her second album, according to reports.

 

The former X Factor winner is said to be looking to give the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Spirit’ a “rockier edge”.

 

“Leona would love to work with Coldplay and knows Chris Martin likes her voice,” a source told the Sun newspaper.

 

“She would love to sing a duet with him. If not, maybe he could write a song for her.

 

“Chris is open to all kinds of music and isn’t at all snobby about what some see as cheesy pop.”

 

Lewis has previously spoken of her plans to work with a number of bands on the project – although she refused to name which ones.

 

As previously reported on Gigwise, both Lewis and Coldplay are among the biggest selling acts of 2008.

Depends on when Leona Lewis' album is slated to be released, I guess. Wiki says November, but it can't be trusted anyway.

 

Only one side has expressed interest for now. I'll wait for an official announcement from Coldplay ;)

i don`t like the music of Leona Lewis...her music is like the music of Whitney Houston...I hate this kind of music because it`s made without soul...

 

I appeal to Coldplay to make everything they want but they should never forget their roots and the roots are (Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head)!!!!

I can only take her voice in very small doses. It's far too "wispy" and lightweight for my liking.;)

I used to like her (not really actually) but after I listened to her cover of Run (Snow Patrol)... ugh :sick:

I wouldn't call her voice "powerful". New winner Alexandra actually has a more powerful voice than her.;)

I hope Chris realises that these people will use him to legitamise their place in the recording business. Leona Lewis is an instrument not a musician, great voice, zero substance.

I don't have a problem with Coldplay performing with Leona Lewis. If they want to then that's fine. The only issue I have is her voice. I am not too fond of her voice. I don't know what it is but it sounds like she's straining her voice to sing and it sounds bad. Perhaps that is because they played Bleeding Love non-stop. IMO, that song and not VLV was overplayed.
