I am kind of treading the 5th CD from Coldplay because, i'm not sure if any of you know this, Coldplay signed a 5 album contract, and when they make the fifth album, the contract will be over, and that might be when they break up. I really hope someone offers them a contract.

i personally don't think they are gonna break up..

I can't see them breaking up, they have a definate lack of egos in that band. They may well take a break though :(

wait u made it sound as if they are going to break up because their contract is going to be over...if that is what u mean why would they break up just because their contract is over and plus i'm sure someone will offer them one or maybe renew the one they have...

I hope they won't break up. I am sure there is creative differences in the band and i'm sure their personalities clash sometimes, but that is no reason for them to break up.

Coldplay could start doing everything in-house, like Travis.

In that case they should change their name to CMI!!:D

Well I really don't think Coldplay will have trouble finding another record company (if they still want one), but I am concerned if they leave EMI the company very well may go out of business, causing even more job losses (which they have been trying to prevent.)

 

As for the band, I doubt they will break up. A hiatus seems very likely though. By the time the VIVA Tour ends, they will have been playing a show nearly every few days for almost a year. They will be exhausted. Then they will have to put out a new album under EMI's pressure, causing even more headache. After they are finally done with that, do you really think they will want to go on another tour or head back in the studio? I highly doubt it, they most likely will want some time with their families. I think that might possibly be a good opportunity for any/all of them to attempt a solo album. But after a while I think it's inevitable the band will be back together.

Well in their interview with Steve Lamacq on August 30th, Chris said that they were going to put out their 5th album late in 2009... then they were going to dissappear.

 

 

His exact words were:

 

"And then we're gonna have another record ready for December 2009 to end the decade... and then we're whoo waaa where-did-they-go. Just like that"

 

So I guess that means they are planning on taking a break :(

Any record company would kill to sign Coldplay, they're one of the biggest/ best-selling acts around! There's no need to worry ;)

I think that even if they do take a break after this fifth album, they most definitley won't be gone for good. Wasn't it when X&Y had just been released that Chris said they were going to take a really long break? - if so, that only lasted for three years and then they came back on top form, almost as if they'd never been gone.

i deffo read a artical where chris said that the band have broken up like 6 times in this tour alone and they have gotten back together in like 20 min each time lol...he also went on to say that he coldplay would prob NEVER split up...ill try to find that artical

I don't think they will break up for personal reasons matter of fact I KNOW THEY WON'T. THe boys always say that they are best friends! Chris just recently said during the Q Viva interviews that they argue but the thing that keeps them together is that they love each other and are buds! I doubt EMI will want to get rid of them but I see them taking a break b\c they all have families ! So they may be on a hiatus for 2010 then come back with a BANG !!

yeh that was it....i guess they split up b4 the 5th album has come out..and they had there reunion concert...ummm...the day after:laugh3:

omg i was just thinking if the 5th album were to be their last album everyone would like go crazy and try to go to the last coldplay concert ever no matter where it would be at least i would...alas this is not going to happen never but now that i think about it the guys will need/deserve a break!!!
