February 1, 201016 yr I know it's been discussed already, but you have to feel for Murray when he broke down onstage. It's so rare that he expresses any form of emotion. He did so much to reach the finals, only to face a very in-form and very spectacular Federer. I know many people who dislike Murray, but I always believed that behind the whole emotionless facade lies a rather interesting and smart character. As I said, people shouldn't be so quick to judge. He's a fantastic player, and his time will come.;) That being said, congrats Federer for another cracking performance! It was one of Fed's best ever. Mats Wilander said afterwards the first set was the best he'd ever seen him play in terms of quality.;)
June 3, 201016 yr Soderling played like a beast was serving bombs and hitting forehand rockets, should be a tough semi against Berdych. Federer's No.1 ranking and quest of beating Sampras's record at No.1 hangs in the balance Nadal wins this and he's no.2 but at least he seems calm about it in his post match interview. Sam Stosur has been playing great tennis vicious forehands and has killer guns to add to it. Would love for it to be a Stosur vs Dementieva final.

Sam Stosur has been playing great tennis vicious forehands and has killer guns to add to it. Would love for it to be a Stosur vs Dementieva final. I don't really mind who makes the final now. The only important thing is that neither of the Williams brothers will be in it!:D However, it could certainly be argued that Stosur would be a worthy champion having defeated both Shrek and Henin! The men's draw has been very interesting as well, with a lot of the favourites going out. I hope someone other than Nadal now wins. Maybe Soderling can beat him for the second year running!;)
June 3, 201016 yr Disappointed for Dementieva that it had to end this way. Should be something serious if not she wouldn't retire just like that hope she recovers from it and does well at Wimbledon. Since Elena is out :( I want Stosur to win this, Go Sammy!
June 3, 201016 yr Disappointed for Dementieva that it had to end this way. Should be something serious if not she wouldn't retire just like that hope she recovers from it and does well at Wimbledon. Dementieva isn't a quitter, so she must have been really hurting to concede.;) Since Elena is out :( I want Stosur to win this, Go Sammy! Yay! Aussie, Aussie, Aussie...................................... :D
June 3, 201016 yr Elena Dementieva had a torn calf muscle hence the retirement, happened after her second match and has been playing with it since, quite a feat itself making it to the semis. Pulled out of Eastbourne and is not confirmed for Wimbledon hope she makes it would be a lesser tournament without her. Glad Stosur is in the final she steamrolled past JJ, hope she goes all the way.

June 5, 201016 yr Francesca Schiavone dispatches Sam Stosur in straight sets to seal French Open crown By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 4:40 PM on 5th June 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Francesca Schiavone produced another inspired display of all-court tennis in the French Open final to become the first Italian woman to win a grand slam. Schiavone stunned hot favourite Samantha Stosur on Philippe Chatrier Court to win one of the best women's finals of recent times 6-4 7-6 (7/2) in one hour and 38 minutes. The 29-year-old once again celebrated victory by kissing the clay, though this time she first fell backwards in jubilation as she became the second oldest first-time winner of a major. An ecstatic Schiavone said: 'I didn't prepare anything because, if I prepare something, it will never happen. 'I always watched every final of this tournament and I know what the big champions say. I want to thank everybody. Joy: Francesca Schiavone kisses the clay at Roland Garros after sealing her first Grand Slam 'I felt amazing today. I feel a real champion and I'm very, very happy. I have to say congrats to Sam because I think she's a great, great person and she's a great athlete. An emotional Stosur said of Schiavone: 'You played very well today and a great tournament. Well done and good luck for the rest of the year.' Both women were making their grand slam final debut, only the fifth time that had happened in the Open era. Stosur was the first Australian female grand slam finalist for 30 years and had won the last four of her five meetings with 17th seed Schiavone. The former's strength told at the start, the serve and forehand that disposed of Justine Henin, Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic helping her to two quickfire love service games. Schiavone, who was also serving as well as she had done all tournament, had a sniff of a break when she got to 0-30 and deuce in game five, but Stosur pulled out the big guns again to hold. It was high-quality stuff from both women, Schiavone holding from deuce with some delightful net play. Smashing: Francesca Schiavone clinched the crown in just an hour and 38 minutes More followed in subsequent games and a brilliant chip and charge set up 0-40 in the ninth game. Seventh seed Stosur got lucky to save two break points but double-faulted on the third. Schiavone came back from 0-30 down serving for the set and Stosur saved one set point with more brutal strokeplay before netting a backhand to give her opponent the game. Stosur, who was struggling badly when she got anywhere inside the service line, was not used to seeing so many balls come back as Schiavone persistently made sure she had to play one more shot. There was controversy in game three of the second set when the Italian complained about a ball she thought was long. But she had played on and was rightly told she should have stopped if she wanted to challenge the call. Out of reach: The French Open crown proved a step too far for Sam Stosur A fired-up Schiavone got to 15-40 anyway before Stosur - roared on by chants of 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie' - battled back to hold. The Australian's forehand finally gave her a first break point in game four, but it was her backhand which converted it at the second time of asking. Stosur raced through the next game but found herself 0-40 down again in game seven, a wild forehand gifting the Italian the break back. Both women served almost imperiously for the rest of the set and a tie break ensued. Schiavone took the first mini-break when Stosur's discomfort at the net let her down again. To rub it in, the Italian showed her how it should be done before hitting a Stosur-esque forehand and a sublime stop volley to bring up four championship points. She only needed one to complete a stunning success Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-1284243/Francesca-Schiavone-dispatches-Sam-Stosur-straight-sets-seal-French-Open-crown.html#ixzz0pzho6vXi
June 21, 201015 yr So I wake up this morning, turn on the switzerland-chile game and my mom tells me that federer lost in the first round. I had a series of heart attacks before finding that he actually had won, and she was just going off of my grandmother's reactions to his dropping the first two sets. All the same, this is really unprecedented from the fed.
June 23, 201015 yr Currently 6h 43min 34-33 to Isner, this is the longest match in history ever. Fact.
June 23, 201015 yr it's broken a ton of records just because of its longevity. Not sure if it's funny or exciting or both. I'm sure I'll never see anything quite like ti again though.
