So a week has passed since the match-ups were made and so far 10 mixes have been delivered... pretty good going considering we've all been distracted with Postcards joy/Brits fury/Warchild hoopla.

A week remains to get your Mix link to me - and for those of you who have recieved your tapes, don't forget to post your review here so that your partner can then reveal their identity.

One more thing... according to the tracker thingy, two participants have yet to open the mail telling then who they are to prepare a mixtape for. If you chat with any of the participants (check the 1st post for a full list), give them a nudge and ask them if they have been checking their mail...

Happy listening guys!

Here's the review of the mixtape I recieved and enjoyed :)

The Mixtape contains 12 tracks and is 01h 06m 06s long. Unfortunately the tracks don’t have numbers so I listened to the songs in alphabetical order:

  • “anothertrack” (8:18): This song starts very calm and builds up to an instrumental Editors-like track with very high-pitched guitar-licks and march-like drummings. After the first half the song gets a small break and finishes quietly. I liked this song, seemed to me as the perfect intro-song as I like instrumental songs!
  • “anotheruntitled” (5:41): Starting with a quiet bassline and an interesting guitar-riff the song quickly gains dynamic. The singer has a very strong and rough voice and I can hear a violin in the background during the chorus. The song has a very interesting rhythm, especially in the verses, it sounds like a mix between classic Rock’n’Roll (ala Bruce Springsteen) and a Radiohead-song. The obligatory guitar-solo is okay ;) In the end I hear people applauding and yelling – so I guess it was a live recording! This song was alright, nothing special to me, though.
  • “anthem” (6:05): That’s Sufjan Stevens with “Chicago”. A great singer and a great song, I have it myself :) A real anthem to the city of Chicago, indeed!
  • “forgetthename” (4:55): A rather mellow intro with a sliding guitar and other sounds. As the lead guitar kicks in the song gets a pretty “dark” feeling. It’s another instrumental guitar-song with a small climax at about 3:00 and an even bigger climax in the end. It reminds me a bit of the first song, they sound a bit similar – I liked it pretty much :)
  • “herwego” (2:17): This song is pretty catchy, ska-like but without the trumpets and stuff. It’s pretty repetitive but I can imagine many people jumping with fast rhythm, hehe. Not really my cup of tea, though – let’s see what the next song brings!
  • “last” (8:01): Another song with a very calm start. After a minute a singer with a pretty high and distant-sounding voice sets in. I can’t really tell in what language she/he is singing, but it’s very melodic and I try not to concentrate on any words I might possibly understand. Except for some background vocals during the chorus I can’t really make out any highs and lows in the first half of the song. In the second half drums and a whole orchestra play an epic instrumental outro and a choir is singing it’s “la-la”s. The last minute of the song contains murmuring people and a pipe repeating the song’s chorus until the bitter end. That song was surprisingly great, especially the second half of it! I think this should’ve been the last song of the mixtape, it would’ve made sense there at least ;)
  • “lullaby” (5:49): Haha this is “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” (a small serenade) by Mozart. I was a bit surprised at first, but this classical track seems to fit pretty good to the other tracks. Sounds weird, but it really does – maybe it has something to do with all the other instrumental tracks with partly orchestrical elements.
  • “moremusic” (6:26): Okay, well now this is a strong contrast to the previous song: Only electric instruments, I think. It sounds a little bit like a gameboy-tune ;) I can’t really recognise a melody, but as the singer starts to sing I finally have something to focus on in all that electronic chaos. The whole arrangement resembles a bit of Depeche Mode, but I’m not really into this kind of music and I find it hard to get this song growing on me. The singing is good, but I gotta admit that this is the only upside of this song, sorry…
  • “music” (4:49): That song is way better! It begins – like most of the other tracks on here – with a few high-pitched guitar-licks and drums are kicking in. This is another – if you want – instrumental track, but you can hear a man and a woman probably talking to each other in a few sentences. It sounds as if these voices were coming out of a radio or something like that – the rest of the song stays instrumental, no singing. I don’t know what the two persons said, but it seemed to fit well, the song was good!
  • “piece” (5:06): This has to be a Santana-song! The guitar sounds so incredibly like Carlos Santana that it can’t be someone else. This is not “Samba Pa Ti” (the only Santana-song I really know ;) ), but it’s awesome. I love these guitar-solos and the sound of the 70s. I think I just sit back, relax and listen carefully to this great tune! A remarkable finish after ~4:00! Amazing, best song so far!
  • “song” (4:26): The intro sounds like the music of an O2-commercial ;) just kidding! Ah, I think I know what band this is: it’s “The Postal Service”, isn’t it? I recognize Ben Gibbard’s voice, because I’m a big fan of Death Cab For Cutie. Thus I have already listened to a few tunes of The Postal Service, but I didn’t like them ‘cause I don’t like the sound of Jimmy Tamborellos electric tunes. Same for this song: Ben is great as usual, but unfortunately the music ruins it in my opinion. I hope this was the last “indietronic”-song on this mixtape ;)
  • “untitled” (4:13): The Police with “Every Breath You Take” – amazing song, it’s an evergreen! :D I think I don’t have to explain this song as anyone knows it - I love it, very good choice!

So, all in all I can say this was a great mixtape! There were some songs I didn’t like, but most of the songs were great! Especially the instrumental songs were awesome, I really like these kind of songs. Another great fact is the huge diversity of this mixtape – some plain rock songs, some indietronics, some evergreens and a classic song by Mozart – that’s a very great mixture and let’s be honest: that’s what a mixtape is all about, isn’t it? ;)

Thanks for this great mixtape, oh unknown mixtape-creator! I really enjoyed it and I hope I didn’t screw up the playing order too much.

OK, so I finished listening to mine. I rather enjoyed it :) here's the track-by-track guide:

Track 1

I really liked this, looking forward to seeing out who it is. Starts off with piano music and then gives way to recordings of people shouting at what sounds like a protest. Over this we hear Big Ben and a tape of Winston Churchill. Around 3 minutes in the drums come in. Its got quite a 70s progressive feel to it, so I'm guessing that's what it is.

Track 2

Pink Floyd- One of these Days  nice choice

Track 3

This sounds familiar. Again got a 70s or 80s feel to it with a lot of synth use there. I like it, nice little guitar solo there too.

Track 4

Starts off with a man singing over an acoustic guitar then drums and prominent stings in the back. Really liking the strings in the background.

Track 5

Like track 4, this starts off with acoustic guitar and a man singing over it. This is nice, the singer sounds familiar but I can't quite place it. I quite like it, very easy to listen to.

Track 6

This starts off with sort of ballroom style piano which gives way to the drums and guitars. Pretty feelgood sound to it. I don't usually like this sort of music, but I can't help tapping my foot along :P

Track 7

This is quite a straightforward rock song, perhaps a bit too much for me. But its nice, I like the riff in the middle.

Track 8

This begins with a drum beat and then male singing and a guitar. I'm liking this, the singer has a really nice voice.

Track 9

The final track starts off with what sounds like wind followed by an electronic beat. Hmm, it sounds similar to the first track, its got the same sort of 70s prog feel to it.

------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, I enjoyed my mixtape, in particular tracks 1, 3 and 8. Maybe it was a little on the short side, but whoever made it did a good job, thanks a lot :)

Hey, Mo! That was my Mixtape, glad you liked it :) Track 1 and 9 are the same track by the way - I splitted it into two pieces, I wanted to give the mixtape a "circular" feeling - that's why you had the feeling it was similar to the first track hehe ;)

Maybe you also noticed that between Tracks 1 and 2 and Tracks 3 and 4 I tried to have a decent crossover between the songs... ;)

Anyway here's the tracklisting:

  1. Supertramp - Fool's Overture (Part 1), Even In The Quietest Moments [1977]
  2. Pink Floyd - One Of These Days, Meddle [1971]
  3. The Alan Parsons Project - Children Of The Moon, Eye In The Sky [1981]
  4. Oasis - Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders?
  5. Travis - The Distance
  6. The Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr. A., The Trick To Life [2007]
  7. Jimmy Eat World - If You Don't, Don't, Jimmy Eat World [2001]
  8. Maritime - King Of Doves, Glass Floor [2004]

Overall playtime: 42:02

Great job.

Spring break now! I finally have time to start thinking about making this mixtape.

You're on spring break NOW? Wow. How long does that go until?

Spring break now! I finally have time to start thinking about making this mixtape.

I'm excited about yours. o.o

I love this list. The one that I would actually enjoy listening! Owen and Beirut!

Great job.

Thank you. =D

Okay, here's my mini-review. I thank the person who sent this mixtape. It's definitely a mixed bag. There are recent songs here but there are also oldies. The variety of styles here is evident and that's what I really wanted.

The collection is about 52 minutes short with 15 tracks. The sequencing of songs is well-thought out. Usually, the energetic song is followed by a downbeat one.

Track 1 - The opening song is really upbeat. It's a classic rock hit, I'm sure. Seems like i'm transported into the '60s or '70s, which is totally rad! Haha. The energy in this one is addicting.

Track 2 - The song opens with a soft laugh and nice guitar acoustics. A woman sounding like Bjork starts, I'm not too crazy about her. But the man's voice that followed, is music to the ears! Haha. The man would do without the girl, really. "Flowers in time, bend toward the sun", is a great, catchy line. Unfortunately, the girl sorta destroyed it a bit for me.

Track 3 - I'm sure it's a Stereophonics song. Very laidback and relaxing. Pa-pa-papa-param!

Track 4 - Regina Spektor-like. What seems to be a quirky banjo intro is accentuated by a nice girly vocals. The song is poppy and dreamy. The song is really sweet indeed. Lol.

Track 5 - Yellow Submarine by The Beatles. Finally, a song that I actually know! This one's a classic. Since it's almost summer here and the weather's a bit hot, thanks for reminding me to go to the beach! Listening to this song is like being at sea with all those quirky interesting characters. The special sound effects add to the fun and epicness of this great song. I want to go on a vacation and bring this song with me!

Track 6 - I'm on a roll, yay! Franz Ferdinand's Do You Want To? The song is a gem, it used to be one of my favorites. Not only because of Alex Kapranos' sexy vocals, but also the song's energy and danceability make me want to make love with this song! Lol. The use of words such as transmission party, artsy, etc. make this one really funky!

Track 7 - After an energetic song, I'm treated to a downtempo, mostly piano driven song with lovely female vocals. This one appears to be a folk song. The voice is the one that makes this song great. Her voice is so clear and emotional, makes me want to listen to her over and over again. The buildup is great. It's maybe because of the accompanying strings (cello perhaps?). I definitely like this one.

Track 8 - Didn't expect this one. Sorta retro-ish electro-dance with notable synths (an old song perhaps? I could be wrong, though). It's quite a nice song, danceable but laidback. Sounds old school for me. The solo drum beats are good as well.

Track 9 - Sounds like an R&B song. I didn't like the oooh yeah being repeated several times at the start. It has a relaxing vibe; unfortunately I'm not quite a fan of this one. Maybe it's the ooooh part that didn't really make me like this song.

Track 10 - Old school again. I like the vocals, so unique. Is this a cover song? I'm loving this entirely upbeat, happy and head-bopping number. "I'm back in the new york groove,", the chorus is awesome and engaging! I love this one.

Track 11 - Retro style...Relaxing, summery and fresh sounding. i like the vibe, is it in any way influenced by reggae music? i am a fan of the accent here.

Track 12 - I call this "Kiss". Upbeat, modern and poppy. The vocals remind me of Lily Allen. However, I'm sure it's not her. It's just an OK song, does not really made a lasting impression.

Track 13 - "I want it all, I want it now!" Classic rock, big hair band style. The music is soo Queen-like. I like it really, which is not that weird because I find these kind of songs cool.

Track 14 - The keyboards are nice. This instrumental number is very very short, yet the energy is remarkable.

Track 15 - ukuleles?! wow, i'm floored. i'm just a sucker for ukes. The song is not bad at all. The vocals are great. Somehow, this song is familiar, I just couldn't place it right now. This track makes a great closing number.

Hi partner!!! ^^

I'm glad (and kinda relief XD) you like the mix! I love a lot of differents stuff so I tried to get that through the mix and I'm glad it shows. I also pay attention to the sequencing, glad again that this part works on you!

So now the tracklist *drumroll*

Track 1 - The opening song is really upbeat. It's a classic rock hit, I'm sure. Seems like i'm transported into the '60s or '70s, which is totally rad! Haha. The energy in this one is addicting.

It's '20th century boys', which is a T-Rex song but here it's sing by the band PLACEBO.

This one is called 'All flowers in time bends towards the sun'. The singers are Elizabeth Fraser (from the band Cocteau Twins) and the other one, the male is my music god Jeff Buckley. Jeff wrotes this song for Elizabeth when he was dating her and they sang this for fun but it was never really recorded properly...I love this song cause it's just the spurs of the moment between two lovers, and it transpired in their gigling...so sweet.

If you like it (and if you don't know him), check out Jeff's work, it's just...well...not from this earth. This man was pure genius.

Track 3 - I'm sure it's a Stereophonics song. Very laidback and relaxing. Pa-pa-papa-param!

You're right, it's them. It's "Have a nice day".

Track 4 - Regina Spektor-like. What seems to be a quirky banjo intro is accentuated by a nice girly vocals. The song is poppy and dreamy. The song is really sweet indeed. Lol.

This is called "Miss Shanghai" by the band Shanghai restoration project. I discover this on myspace. The strings are made from a shamisen, a japanese instrument, not a banjo ^^

All good. I'm glad it made you want to go on vacation!! Where areyou from if it's summer for you??

Track 6 - I'm on a roll, yay! Franz Ferdinand's Do You Want To? The song is a gem, it used to be one of my favorites. Not only because of Alex Kapranos' sexy vocals, but also the song's energy and danceability make me want to make love with this song! Lol. The use of words such as transmission party, artsy, etc. make this one really funky!

Again, all good ^^

Track 7 - After an energetic song, I'm treated to a downtempo, mostly piano driven song with lovely female vocals. This one appears to be a folk song. The voice is the one that makes this song great. Her voice is so clear and emotional, makes me want to listen to her over and over again. The buildup is great. It's maybe because of the accompanying strings (cello perhaps?). I definitely like this one.

This one is called 'Winter' and the artist is Tori Amos. She's known for her piano ballads and powerfull imaged lyrics. Kinda feminine version of Jeff Buckley but with a piano. She's very famous in the US (not to much in my country :/)... Check out her work, she's quite a personna!

Track 8 - Didn't expect this one. Sorta retro-ish electro-dance with notable synths (an old song perhaps? I could be wrong, though). It's quite a nice song, danceable but laidback. Sounds old school for me. The solo drum beats are good as well.

XD It's fun you thought it was an oldie cause it's 'Electric feel' by MGMT. New band, they explosed this year with their album 'oracular spectacular'... I'm not fond of all of their tracks but this one is my favorite ^^

Track 9 - Sounds like an R&B song. I didn't like the oooh yeah being repeated several times at the start. It has a relaxing vibe; unfortunately I'm not quite a fan of this one. Maybe it's the ooooh part that didn't really make me like this song.

This one is called 'Femiliarise' from a nigerian artist called Keziah Jones. He lives between Paris and New York and he invents a style called 'Blue funk'. You may not like this one but check his work on youtube, he's terrific on stage and he's an amazing guitar/bass player. He does a lot of 'tapping'. His music is very funky and groovy.

Track 10 - Old school again. I like the vocals, so unique. Is this a cover song? I'm loving this entirely upbeat, happy and head-bopping number. "I'm back in the new york groove,", the chorus is awesome and engaging! I love this one.

No it's not a cover! It's the original ^^ The song is 'New york groove' by KISS. I'm not a Kiss fan but I just love this song!

Track 11 - Retro style...Relaxing, summery and fresh sounding. i like the vibe, is it in any way influenced by reggae music? i am a fan of the accent here.

This one is from the scottish (hence this accent XD) soul singer Paolo Nutini. The song is called 'January'. He's only 20 but his voice sounds muuuch older XD!

Track 12 - I call this "Kiss". Upbeat, modern and poppy. The vocals remind me of Lily Allen. However, I'm sure it's not her. It's just an OK song, does not really made a lasting impression.

It's 'Pumkin soup' by Kate Nash. A british singer, but I prefer her rather than Lily Allen.

Track 13 - "I want it all, I want it now!" Classic rock, big hair band style. The music is soo Queen-like. I like it really, which is not that weird because I find these kind of songs cool.

You make me laugh with this one....It's indeed 'Queen-like' cause it's QUEEN!!! XD And the song is 'I want it all'. My favorite band after Coldplay...So inventiv and just classic!

Track 14 - The keyboards are nice. This instrumental number is very very short, yet the energy is remarkable.

It's a short piano piece by Stravinsky. It's 1st Movement Russian Dance 6 of Petroushka ^^

Track 15 - ukuleles?! wow, i'm floored. i'm just a sucker for ukes. The song is not bad at all. The vocals are great. Somehow, this song is familiar, I just couldn't place it right now. This track makes a great closing number.

It's ukulele and it's called 'Freaky new child ' by the french singer Julien Doré. He won the french 'idol' two years ago and he's quite different from what you can hear on radio right now. And he likes jamming with ukulele ^^

Ok, I've been very chatty but I'm glad you enjoyed this mix! Now I'm looking forward to hear yours!!

  • Author

Wow, that sounds like a very diverse Mix!

Hi partner!!! ^^

I'm glad (and kinda relief XD) you like the mix! I love a lot of differents stuff so I tried to get that through the mix and I'm glad it shows. I also pay attention to the sequencing, glad again that this part works on you!

Thanks for the fast response. I feared that I might wait a while to find out the titles of the songs and the artists in the mix!

I would like to reply to your comments, if you may. ;)

It's '20th century boys', which is a T-Rex song but here it's sing by the band PLACEBO.

I really thought the version is the original one. Well, Placebo made a good faithful cover of it. I tried to get into Placebo before, but failed miserably. This song, however, is nice. I'll try to listen to the band again.

The only song I know from Jeff Buckley is the Hallelujah cover. He really has a nice voice. Knowing about how the song came about made me change my about the female singer. Maybe the reason she sounds over the top is that because she has full of emotions for Jeff!

This is called "Miss Shanghai" by the band Shanghai restoration project. I discover this on myspace. The strings are made from a shamisen, a japanese instrument, not a banjo ^^

I just supposed it's a banjo. Haha. But thanks for the information. :D

All good. I'm glad it made you want to go on vacation!! Where areyou from if it's summer for you??

I'm from the Philippines. A hot country. Haha.

Not too much Tori Amos here I reckon. However, I used to listen to Cornflake Girl. It's quite an awesome song. It never occurred to me that the singer here is Tori Amos!

XD It's fun you thought it was an oldie cause it's 'Electric feel' by MGMT. New band, they explosed this year with their album 'oracular spectacular'... I'm not fond of all of their tracks but this one is my favorite ^^

I never get to listen to any MGMT. I know they're popular nowadays. I guess I should.

Cool. Maybe I should check out the other songs of Keziah Jones. I might find ones that I truly like. :D

No it's not a cover! It's the original ^^ The song is 'New york groove' by KISS. I'm not a Kiss fan but I just love this song!

Never got exposed to Kiss' music. My bad. This song is excellent and I never expected that Kiss made this one.

This one is from the scottish (hence this accent XD) soul singer Paolo Nutini. The song is called 'January'. He's only 20 but his voice sounds muuuch older XD!

Sounds like a nice guy. I love Scottish accent, it's funny though that I didn't recognize it's Scottish!

It's 'Pumkin soup' by Kate Nash. A british singer, but I prefer her rather than Lily Allen.

I'm not a Lily Allen fan too. I might check Kate Nash as I've only listened to her "Seven Nation Army" cover.

You make me laugh with this one....It's indeed 'Queen-like' cause it's QUEEN!!! XD And the song is 'I want it all'. My favorite band after Coldplay...So inventiv and just classic!

Hahaha! I was not sure it's Queen, so...

It's a short piano piece by Stravinsky. It's 1st Movement Russian Dance 6 of Petroushka ^^

I really thought it was a modern instrumental number!

It's ukulele and it's called 'Freaky new child ' by the french singer Julien Doré. He won the french 'idol' two years ago and he's quite different from what you can hear on radio right now. And he likes jamming with ukulele ^^

Yay for ukes! I don't know Julien Dore but he seems like a pretty decent and interesting guy. I'll surely check him out!

Hope I also get some reviews for my mixtape. I'm very excited with it!

I really thought the version is the original one. Well, Placebo made a good faithful cover of it. I tried to get into Placebo before, but failed miserably. This song, however, is nice. I'll try to listen to the band again.

They do this cover for the movie 'Velvet Goldmine', they did a little cameo in it and sang this song from T-Rex. I've always love them, great energy in their music.

The only song I know from Jeff Buckley is the Hallelujah cover. He really has a nice voice.

You should check him out, this man was just beyond awesome...a true artist.

Cool. Maybe I should check out the other songs of Keziah Jones. I might find ones that I truly like. :D

Sounds like a nice guy. I love Scottish accent, it's funny though that I didn't recognize it's Scottish!

I'm in love with his voice....v.v He's very young but his musical tastes are from another ages! He's now acknowledge by artists like The rolling stones or BB King... Again, check the videos 'the history so far' on his myspace:

Yay for ukes! I don't know Julien Dore but he seems like a pretty decent and interesting guy. I'll surely check him out!

Here's the review of the mixtape I recieved and enjoyed :)

The Mixtape contains 12 tracks and is 01h 06m 06s long. Unfortunately the tracks dont have numbers so I listened to the songs in alphabetical order:

  • anothertrack (8:18): This song starts very calm and builds up to an instrumental Editors-like track with very high-pitched guitar-licks and march-like drummings. After the first half the song gets a small break and finishes quietly. I liked this song, seemed to me as the perfect intro-song as I like instrumental songs!
  • anotheruntitled (5:41): Starting with a quiet bassline and an interesting guitar-riff the song quickly gains dynamic. The singer has a very strong and rough voice and I can hear a violin in the background during the chorus. The song has a very interesting rhythm, especially in the verses, it sounds like a mix between classic RocknRoll (ala Bruce Springsteen) and a Radiohead-song. The obligatory guitar-solo is okay ;) In the end I hear people applauding and yelling so I guess it was a live recording! This song was alright, nothing special to me, though.
  • anthem (6:05): Thats Sufjan Stevens with Chicago. A great singer and a great song, I have it myself :) A real anthem to the city of Chicago, indeed!
  • forgetthename (4:55): A rather mellow intro with a sliding guitar and other sounds. As the lead guitar kicks in the song gets a pretty dark feeling. Its another instrumental guitar-song with a small climax at about 3:00 and an even bigger climax in the end. It reminds me a bit of the first song, they sound a bit similar I liked it pretty much :)
  • herwego (2:17): This song is pretty catchy, ska-like but without the trumpets and stuff. Its pretty repetitive but I can imagine many people jumping with fast rhythm, hehe. Not really my cup of tea, though lets see what the next song brings!
  • last (8:01): Another song with a very calm start. After a minute a singer with a pretty high and distant-sounding voice sets in. I cant really tell in what language she/he is singing, but its very melodic and I try not to concentrate on any words I might possibly understand. Except for some background vocals during the chorus I cant really make out any highs and lows in the first half of the song. In the second half drums and a whole orchestra play an epic instrumental outro and a choir is singing its la-las. The last minute of the song contains murmuring people and a pipe repeating the songs chorus until the bitter end. That song was surprisingly great, especially the second half of it! I think this shouldve been the last song of the mixtape, it wouldve made sense there at least ;)
  • lullaby (5:49): Haha this is Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (a small serenade) by Mozart. I was a bit surprised at first, but this classical track seems to fit pretty good to the other tracks. Sounds weird, but it really does maybe it has something to do with all the other instrumental tracks with partly orchestrical elements.
  • moremusic (6:26): Okay, well now this is a strong contrast to the previous song: Only electric instruments, I think. It sounds a little bit like a gameboy-tune ;) I cant really recognise a melody, but as the singer starts to sing I finally have something to focus on in all that electronic chaos. The whole arrangement resembles a bit of Depeche Mode, but Im not really into this kind of music and I find it hard to get this song growing on me. The singing is good, but I gotta admit that this is the only upside of this song, sorry
  • music (4:49): That song is way better! It begins like most of the other tracks on here with a few high-pitched guitar-licks and drums are kicking in. This is another if you want instrumental track, but you can hear a man and a woman probably talking to each other in a few sentences. It sounds as if these voices were coming out of a radio or something like that the rest of the song stays instrumental, no singing. I dont know what the two persons said, but it seemed to fit well, the song was good!
  • piece (5:06): This has to be a Santana-song! The guitar sounds so incredibly like Carlos Santana that it cant be someone else. This is not Samba Pa Ti (the only Santana-song I really know ;) ), but its awesome. I love these guitar-solos and the sound of the 70s. I think I just sit back, relax and listen carefully to this great tune! A remarkable finish after ~4:00! Amazing, best song so far!
  • song (4:26): The intro sounds like the music of an O2-commercial ;) just kidding! Ah, I think I know what band this is: its The Postal Service, isnt it? I recognize Ben Gibbards voice, because Im a big fan of Death Cab For Cutie. Thus I have already listened to a few tunes of The Postal Service, but I didnt like them cause I dont like the sound of Jimmy Tamborellos electric tunes. Same for this song: Ben is great as usual, but unfortunately the music ruins it in my opinion. I hope this was the last indietronic-song on this mixtape ;)
  • untitled (4:13): The Police with Every Breath You Take amazing song, its an evergreen! :D I think I dont have to explain this song as anyone knows it - I love it, very good choice!

So, all in all I can say this was a great mixtape! There were some songs I didnt like, but most of the songs were great! Especially the instrumental songs were awesome, I really like these kind of songs. Another great fact is the huge diversity of this mixtape some plain rock songs, some indietronics, some evergreens and a classic song by Mozart thats a very great mixture and lets be honest: thats what a mixtape is all about, isnt it? ;)

Thanks for this great mixtape, oh unknown mixtape-creator! I really enjoyed it and I hope I didnt screw up the playing order too much.

Hi. It was me again :D. Dont worry about the order. Maybe only 3 songs were important to end and begin, thus dont worry.

And sorry for the big mess on my mixtapd, i thouht it was 60 minutes but not. I struggled too to delete the info of the songs and had to upload twice the mixtape. Im glad you liked it i was afraid you were going to like 2 or 3 song. Thats why i added postal service and the police :uhoh:. I ll tell you later about the songs cause im not in my pc

My Dog Ate my mixtape

Weighing in at 82.8MB, with 12 tracks, totaling 55 minutes on the dot

according to iTunes which picked up a couple artist names, and did it usual

thing of messing up the track names when the name is 1-2-3 with track

numbers. Once sorted trying to keep to the original tracklisting according to

the track-list given I dumped the tape onto my iPod nano to listen to at

work/in the car etc.

Track 1 sounds a bit like the sort of music you get at the circus or at a street

magic show when someone is doing a trick or an act. Nice opening, and

some nice trumpet action.

Track 2, Nice organ action, one melody, don't know the band nor the song,

but songs alright.

Track 3 is a nice long number, sounds like the The Decemberists' long 3-part

number on their 2006 album called the Island.

Track 4 is by Sufjan Stevens which sounds like The Man Of Metropolis Steals

Our Hearts from his 2005 album, (Come On Feel The) Illinoise!.

Track 5 is by Arcade Fire, but I can't put a name to the track, something

from the EP maybe?

Track 6 is another circus type song like track 1.

Track 7 is Fleet Foxes Ragged Wood, great song from a great album.

Track 8 I don't know much about, sounds good though

Track 9 sounds a bit folky at the start and sounds Irish, but sounds like it's German or Dutch.

Track 10 - Have you ever been to an american weding? Sounds very mexico, but sung in english, it's okay.

Track 11 - Sounds like track 2, same band maybe?

Track 12 - Nice non-english track, sounds like japansive

Overall a very good mixtape, some tracks I knew, some tracks I don't know

That was my Mixtape

1.- El Niño Perdido. A very old traditional song of my little city, it tells the history of a lost kid -represented by the trumpet-, which sounds very weak at the begining, and strong at the end, which means the kid finds his home. Very Mexican Folk.

2.- Cliquot-Beirut ... The Flying Club Cup.

3.- The Island-The Decemberists ... The Crane Wife.

4.- The Man Of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts-Sufjan Stevens ... Come On! Feel The Illinoise!

5.- Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)-Arcade Fire ... Funeral.

6.- El Zócalo-Beirut ... March Of The Zapotec.

7.- Ragged Wood-Fleet Foxes ... Fleet Foxes.

8.- He Poos Clouds-Final Fantasy ... He Poos Clouds.

9.- Fiesta Pagana-Mago de Oz ... Finisterra.

10.- American Wedding-Gogol Bordello ... Super Taranta!

11.- La Llorona-Beirut ... March Of The Zapotec.

12.- El Presente-Julieta Venegas ... MTV Unplugged.

:nice: Well, the objective of this is to listen music you have never listen to :)
