Lore
The collage could be tricky though - wouldn't someone have a lot of printing to do? Could we turn the photo's in to the digital thing that Carla suggested? yup!
Chavi
I really like all the ideas so far. and the recording thing would be original and nice. :) BUT would you really think listening to I dont know how many people saying 'thank you Debs + personal messages' for a whole CD is a tempting idea ? I mean it's not like listening to songs you know.. it would have to be catchy. I dont want to seem negative, I wouldnt be able to come up with a better idea myself. Just saying. but if that's what everybody decides to do, then I'm in for sure. Also, any idea that requires individual posting to the PO box isnt that handy.. not too sure she'd want to collect hundreds of little thank you notes again. I'm for a collective thank you, a poster or a digital thank you CD would be much better imo..

RedGirl76
I definately think there's something in the "digital collage" idea of us all holding a sign saying thank you... But I have to go to bed now... :( I look forward to seeing what you've all come up with by morning!

Cris_Santos
let's take pictures of us with a "thank you" sign and then with all the pics uploaded we can make a collage or something like that! Great idea, Lore! I believe this is a way to keep it personal :D We'd just need someone to print it (printing it as a photo helps to mantain the quality) and send it to the PO Box. We could use a paypal account to help with printing and postage costs ;)
mygdalom
we could make her a digital slide show of thank you cards and burn it on a cd hey, good idea :)

ApproximatelyInfinite
i know no one's going to agree with me, so maybe i should just let everyone have at it until a consensus is reached, but i just think everything like that is too involved and complicated, and i worry that it might lose some of its significance if it's too big and fancy. i also think we've already thanked her with written words THREE times now, so if we're going to do something, it probably should be SMALL so we're not bombarding her, and it probably shouldn't be written down. i just don't think we should overdo it, and most of the ideas i've heard sound like overdoing it to me. Glossal Fragster
How about you all do a dance on a webcam to a coldplay song or summit, someone who is very good at editing and that could edit it together and just say "thank you x" at the end or summit? (I should always stick to doing stupid idea's  . I can't do proper idea's :( )
ApproximatelyInfinite
three times? well, i was being somewhat generous in saying three times, but your email (and all the emails, really), my letter, and then everyone saying their individual thank yous in the thread when she posts, which she obviously has read since she's quoted and replied to some of them. I agree. We tend to overdo .. maybe flowers would be enough even if they're not permanent.. Agreed. I also think that thanking her should not be "a project". We don't want her to get tired of us either. Who knows, maybe we'll need her help for something else in the future? Then she'd might be more hesitant because she thinks we're making too much of a deal. (Flowers or) chocolate could do unless if she's allergic. ApproximatelyInfinite
haha, well i'm surprised people agree with me . but yes, i think starting another entire project of almost any sort is too much and is overdoing it. i don't necesarily think that debs would be less willing to work with us in the future or anything like that, but i just think that a small, simple sentiment is more fitting and less cheesy. i like the audio CD idea best of all, and it wouldn't be that hard to put together, but i also think it's making the whole thing a bit too 'projecty,' even if it's relatively simple for us to put together. i wish the flowers idea worked better. chocolates are easier, but still perishable, depending on how often she checks the PO box. however, with something like that, there's the issue of who pays for what and how much, and how we collect money from people. obviously there are ways to do it, i've just never done it before. people that agree with me: can you think of something like flowers that could be delivered to a PO box without going bad or dying? RunForTheHills
^ I kinda like the sending of flowers the best, even though its unfortunately more difficult to send or whatever. But we could always just buy her a 'thank you' card, one of those smaller A3 sized ones, write a quick 3 lines saying a mutually-agreed-on message, and then just sign it 'all the members of coldplaying.com' or something similar. And these are like birthday and christmas cards, so they're pretty cheap. Other than that, i'm fresh out of ideas. If we knew what type of perfume she wears or whatever, we could buy something like that and wrap it up like a present and sent it with a little note, but we'd have to bombard her with questions through through the oracle thing in coldplay.com :P. I don't know, i'm kinda grasping at straws here. But I do agree on the fact that this whole thing is needlessly project-y. It was cool for the project itself, but i think we would be over indulging if we took this thank you thing to the same level. I also think that its kinda less about Debs than it really should be somehow, and the fact that this thing is being called something like 'postcards project part 2' kinda shows that we may be trying to organise this thank you with the wrong mindset. It just seems to me that people who missed being involved in organising the postcards project the first time around want to take this oppertunity to be involved in 'something big' which of course is fine, but I just don't think this thank you thing should be that next big project. Really, I don't think it should have any links to the original project apart from the fact that we're thanking her for allowing it to happen. And it's nice to know that we can organise something as big as the postcards project, and yet we're only a bunch of fans on a coldplay forum, but I just think we should save our talents for something that actually works as a project without being over the top. Sorry if I sound negative or harsh, and by all means we should continue to explore some ideas, but I think I should just be truthful about where I stand before anything is decided on. I still don't mind helping out of course, but I just think we just need to remind ourselves that this is a thank you, for one person (who we've already thanked a few times before).
ApproximatelyInfinite
agreed :D. but about the card thing: i did that already :P. it just was more of a letter than a card, and it had your logo on the top, and i hand-wrote it from all of us :D. that's why i think that doing something with written words like that again would be overkill, which just leaves a small gifty sort of thing in my mind. Pris
Ok, i just read the entire group posts only to end up with you posting in this thread..... :dozey: So i just had to read it all, and i have to agree with a lot of people here. Though i like the poster idea, it would be too hard to get together and send. And the thank-you recordings idea, even if its easy to send and assembly it would get annoying pretty soon... i mean, i don't think listening to 80 minutes of thank-you's on loop is really something she'd <or any of us> listen fully. I have to say that sending her flowers would be super sweet and completely unexpected for her. I was just lurking at her myspace to see if i could find something that could help us with this, but unless we get her a cat or send her a poster of Amelie, i found nothing helpful :disappointed:
