haha, well that's kind of a really cool idea, but...i would assume that a box of butterflies is MORE perishable than a bouquet of flowers of a box of chocolates :lol:. and i know that i'd be scared out of my pants if i got a random box in the mail and opened it my bedroom or something and a million bugs flew out, even if they were butterflies :P.

butterflies are very nice from a distance, but without the wings, they're just icky bugs :sick:. i wouldn't want about a hundred of them flying through my house.

:lol: i have no idea where we stand. i know what i think personally, and i know some people agree, but i don't know what that means for everyone else.

 

i say we figure out something similar to flowers or chocolates (not killer :flutterby:s in a box :P) and go from there. i also wouldn't object to the CD idea, but that would take longer to organize, and people are right, it might get a bit boring to listen to people just saying thank you over and over.

haha, well i'm surprised people agree with me :lol:. but yes, i think starting another entire project of almost any sort is too much and is overdoing it. i don't necesarily think that debs would be less willing to work with us in the future or anything like that, but i just think that a small, simple sentiment is more fitting and less cheesy.

 

i like the audio CD idea best of all, and it wouldn't be that hard to put together, but i also think it's making the whole thing a bit too 'projecty,' even if it's relatively simple for us to put together.

 

i wish the flowers idea worked better. chocolates are easier, but still perishable, depending on how often she checks the PO box. however, with something like that, there's the issue of who pays for what and how much, and how we collect money from people. obviously there are ways to do it, i've just never done it before.

 

people that agree with me: can you think of something like flowers that could be delivered to a PO box without going bad or dying?

 

Does anybody remembers that flying butterfly postcard? I don't remember who suggested it. I liked it alot.

1. can't we give her a star as in an actual star, and relate it to her fav coldplay lyric

 

maybe add like a star pendent or earrings as a keeper?

 

2. could we donate to charity in her name, these might be things debs would appreciate even more than just any gift

I haven't posted anything 'cause I don't have any ideas to contribute:blush:, but just want to butt in with some opinions...

 

--"killer butterflies" in a box sounds scary--pretty paper butterflies in one thing, but BUGS are not cute LOL (a JT "XXXXin a box" is a whoooollle other kind of gift. Are we really THAT thankful:wink::lol:)

 

--I thought I heard somewhere that "name a star for someone" thing is a big scam:thinking:; but sending something star-shaped with a card is a cute idea.

 

--I think the best would be sending ONE thing, whatever that is, rather than Debs collecting individual thank you's from us indefinitely. And also, it'd be good to do it SOON. And since organizing anything takes a while, I think we just gotta make a decision...

If we do send 1 thing--flowers, chocolate, etc--we could always send her a heads up around the time we think it'd be delivered, if we're afraid she might not check the PO Box all the time. Send her an email saying, Debs we sent you a little thank you, be on the look out in the next few days...She'll still be surprised, and can't really say NO, you shouldn't have, 'cause oops we did it already!:P
