July 30, 200917 yr This just made the pit of my stomach drop. I was hoping to chill at the back of the GA with my niece because I can't realistically expect her to stand in line for 12 hours...and then get crushed up front. I reaaaaally think you should be fine. It'll prob be easier for both of you being at the back and not being crushed by everyone else. Plus if she's at the back she won't have to be looking up so much like she would have to the closer she is to the front. I really think you two will be alright, there are no bad areas in the pit, even the back of the pit is close. Last concert I was 11 rows back and that was where the catwalk ended, this concert according to seating map, the Pit goes a few rows past the catwalk, so you guys will still be close. I don't plan on going and lining up all day, I'm gonna show up maybe 7 ish, and hopefully find a good spot.
July 30, 200917 yr Okay so I posted in the thread for last year but accident! Haha! Anyways, I'm going this year, too. I'm really excited, my friends and I are leaving at 9am and driving to Toronto so we can shop! My friendS really want to meet Chris but I don't know if that'll happen. It's a long story but I know Chloe, and so we get to go backstage to the "family room". I hope to talk to Johnny again and maybe get a picture. My best friend is dying to meet Chris though, seriously, ahhaha. Anyways yeah, really excited!

I'm just a bit cutthroat about being at the very front, since I'm a very short person and any more than three rows back I can't see a damn thing. The most recent time I was in GA was in Hartford CT in a MUCH smaller venue than this, and I would say the GA section was about 50-75 people deep in total, so in a bigger venue like this one, I would imagine the GA section being HUGE, upwards of 100 people deep (however, this is all speculation :wink:). Do whatever you're comfortable with, of course, but I would just warn that any more than 7 people deep from the front and you're going to see more of the backs of heads than the boys themselves :\. However, the vibe of the GA section is always more fun, regardless of the view, so you're in for a good time :D. I'm just one to prioritize my view of the guys over everything else :P. How old is your niece? Just...uh, watch her :P. With a band like Coldplay, it's not going to get that crazy or anything, but I've been squashed and elbowed quite a lot :P.

Yeah Guy said in an interview back in April, "Yeah, we've been trying to dust the cobwebs off here and there, because the idea is that for the bigger shows in the summer we'll play for a little bit longer. So we've been digging out some of the older songs which we haven't played for a while. That's actually been really good fun. We played Sparks today and we've been playing Rush Of Blood To The Head, Warning Sign and White Shadows. We're just building up the songbook, basically." I don't know if this is considered one of those stadium shows, or if he meant the European stadiums in September. I really hope they do add songs, and suprise us, but who knows. I do know that they love Toronto (even though they say it in every city, but I like to think they mean it here).

July 30, 200917 yr Ugh, I am in the far back :( Section 124. Oh well, YAY! I was beginning to think I was the only one on this forum who didn't get floor tickets. Can I say I wasn't getting excited about this concert the way I normally would have because I've had the crappiest week (my mom literally just got out of the hospital this afternoon). I'm so exhausted and I'm dreading driving back into Toronto coz I've been doing it every day for the past week. BUT, you all are getting me psyched up for tomorrow. Music really is my drug, and tomorrow it will be my opiate. Can't wait!

And when you mean 50-75 people deep, how many people would you say were in the entire pit? I would say between 200 and 300 in the whole small pit, but A) I am a terrible judge of how big a space is and how many people there are in a large group B) I realize that perhaps my estimate of 50-75 people deep might not be consistent with my estimate of 200-300 in the whole pit :P. Like I say, I can't eye things and estimate very well. I would guess, based on pictures I've seen of the Rogers Center and the floorplan, like 500-600 in the pit there? After trying to give you all a better idea of what to expect, watch me be horribly and drastically wrong :P.

If you get an overzealous security guard, they probably won't want to go in there too much :lol:. Ok, I'm going to stop talking now :P. Perhaps Canada and the Rogers Center are totally different than every other place I've been before.
