Here is a rough edit of the two sides.

Like you said, Camille, the many fonts are not good...

I am not happy with it but maybe someone has an idea from seeing these??

The black background for coldplaying.com was better in my opinion.

There is something missing when I look at this version...

Maybe add it again?

Back:

EDIT: I'll make one with the black background still there but with the same font as the "Wembley" writing...

yeah, i think i agree with you about the black background for "coldplaying." i still like #3 the best :D:

i don't know which back i like the best, though! :bigcry:

this one:

back05.jpg

or this one:

back02.jpg

the second one is definitely easier to see, and makes more of a bold statement, but i so love the idea of using their doodle-faces :wacky:.

yeah, i think i agree with you about the black background for "coldplaying."

I'll make one with other letters later!

I love the doodle faces!

Ah Anna I know what you want to do !!!

This writing :

with the black background, in order to change the font of this front :

?

I'm looking forward to seeing the result... though I liked this one :

front13.jpg

which was quite simple and which suits this back quite well:

(that's Chris' writing, for those who are wondering what's new on the last one ;))

Still Chris' writing :

I'm so sorry!

I didn't see your PM because I was busy doing this:

It may not look really different in the preview but you have to trust me that it is far better now!!

It's 4am and it was tiresome cutting out, inserting and what-not the letters...

I need to go to bed!!!

Sleep well everybody

Wow, you spent some time on your PC with this as well!! :)

But with Chris' writing there's still 2 different fonts...

I'd really prefer to not make it too confusing.

Like you did with the ones you posted afterwards.

More tomorrow when I can think straight!

:stunned: WOW havent checked into this thread in sooo long- but Im LOVING how this shirt has progressed! # 3 is deff my fave, the handwriting, all 5 of the guys in the doodles....

I ddint go keen on the Yellow idea, but this, im really liking ! Good work, girls:D

Woow great designs!!

For the front, I'll just put 'WEMBLEY 09' with this font in big, like this because for the back, I like the little figures from the myspace, and there is a mention of coldplaying.com, so no need to repeat it front AND back...

So to me the shirt could simply look like this:

back05.jpg

What do you think?

This looks bloody awesome Anna, and yeah, there's a big dfference :D

Comparing both...

Yours obviously better :) especially because we've got one font; mine could just suits the 5 faces in the back.

a-chan : that's actually my first idea I still believe it could be better to mention Wembley on one side (front for instance) and Coldplay.com on the other side. Moreover, if we're trying to give the boys a shirt hoping for them to wear it (I'm currently thinking about putting 4 shirts in the Bakery's mail box in May lol), they would more likely do it if Coldplaying.com was in big letters IN THE BACK rather than on the front (especially if Wembley's gig is filmed, I doubt they would do that even if they do like Coldplaying).

I'm thus going to work on that in the following days...

I also have a question : is it going to be more expensive if we're printing on both side ? Cause we're all getting crazy about the back and the front but if it's too expensive we might end up with one side only... what do you think ?

I like the last back view with the five faces and coldplaying.com in Chris handwriting and the big Wembley 09 on the front. That would make more sense and have more possibility of band actually wearing them. :)

:cheesy:

definite favorite for me!

SAME FOR ME!!!

Great design!

i'm going to have a hell of a time this weekend sorting through all the designs in this thread and determining which ones go in the poll :uhoh: :P. if i'm not mistaken, some were meant just as "test" designs and not actual submissions? or should i just put everything in?

and i'm still wondering what to do about the backs...should we have two separate polls, one for backs, one for fronts? i feel like that's not the best decision, since we'd need two threads to do that, and i think the front and the back should work together in a way, rather than just smacking the most popular back on the most popular front. do the designers have any input?

i love the 5 faces, but think we might have serious copyright issues with them as Chris drew them.

eek, do you think? but then wouldn't we have the same issue with the other back image, the X&Y-era silhouette of the four guys, since it's a photograph that we don't own?

aww man, i really like the doodle faces :bigcry:. does that mean we can't use them?

yup, I didn't realise the silhouette was an official image either. don't remember seeing it before this thread.

Wouldn't the copyright would come from Chris though, not EMI. I can't see him having any issue with it.

Plus it's not like they're being made to sell for profit.

i can't see anyone even realizing there was a copyright infringement, let alone enforcing it. that's not to say i necessarily think we should barrel on anyway (i'm the cautious worry-wart, remember :P), but in some ways i just don't ever see anyone from EMI or the band coming across this, let alone enforcing whatever rules apply to it (especially the chris doodles, since i doubt EMI owns them and i doubt anyone would care enough to make it known that we made an oopsie and demand money or sue us).

i assume then we would have the same issue with using portions of chris's handwriting? especially because it's not direct reproduction, but because it's slightly altered to make it say what we want .

errrrrrrmmmmmmmm not to point out the obvious, put if we proceed with the plan to provide the band with a t-shirt, then they'll see the doodles.

I've not investigated copyright far enough to know enough about the handwriting.

^well duh. i'm assuming we wouldn't do that, especially now that there might be this issue. i'm of the mind that we shouldn't provide the band with shirts anyway, since i don't think it would get anywhere. i think throwing one on stage for a laugh is one thing (though that sounds like it could be problematic and get someone thrown out of the venue), but trying to get them to the band beforehand through roadies or whatever is another, one that has a higher potential of someone saying "hey, they can't use that image!" that's just my personal opinion, of course, but if we plan to use either of the designs for the back that we have up for contention now, it's in our best interest NOT to try to get the band tshirts.

i think the decision is ultimately up to you and ian, since i'd imagine you guys are the ones that would get most of the heat in the event that we get in trouble. i also think we'll need some alternative back designs in case you decide not to use anything with a non-coldplayer-original image or writing.

i completely agree with mich. the only thing that worries me is that even though we're not TRYING to make a profit, as far as i understand whatever money is made does go to this site versus any official coldplay venue (or charity), and that, i would imagine, could be good reason to get angry with us if they were being nitpicky and whiney. however, i can't see them getting nitpicky and whiney, so i'm on the side of just carrying on with the doodle faces.

Wouldn't the copyright would come from Chris though, not EMI. I can't see him having any issue with it.

I agree. I can't imagine there would be a problem.

If it eases minds, maybe an email to Debs with our concerns?
