I do, vector images are forever enlargable, where a regular image built up out of pixels would get blurry and pixelish, I dont know what type of images sue made, but i'd be able to help out with that if needed

As far as I understood the spreadshirt site vector images will indeed bring the best quality print.

Pixel graphics only allow a digital print which is less optimal than plot printing.

I made 3000px wide .gifs and unfortunately can't create vector images with GIMP...

And I don't have a program to create vectors.

But if one of my designs will be chosen - they only have 2 colours (everything black except the "ing" of "coldplaying" is white).

As far as I understood the process of creating vectors that makes it easier, right?

Hey, I have to say that the one I made was just an idea, not a finished design, I'm not a good designer.

It shouldn't be in the poll. ;)

i'd just 'copy/trace' your design with vector lines, if you could send me the original image I could start that asap, and maybe the exact fonts you used

it's fairly easy, would take me about ten minutes.. it does help that it's just one color, but not necesairy..

I know that there will be a poll and aso. but I would so love it if one of Anna's designs was chosen because I think they are just amazing, esp. with the silhouette on the backside :)

I can already imagine the army of Coldplayers at Wembley wearing the same shirt :)

And even if not everyone of the 100+ goers from this forum will participate in ordering a t-shirt, it will look special nevertheless :D

Carla, this is so great that you can do vector images!!

Your help will definitely be needed!!

But we should wait until a design is chosen, otherwise you'd make all those efforts for nothing... :(

it's no problem,a nd besides, once its's been chosen Jen might want to get it up there as quickly as possible and I'd still have to start on it..

but i don't mind it's your thing i just wanna help out :nice:

argh, i just posted a big long post, but i think the board crashed for a minute and it didn't get posted .

ANYWAY. i rarely frequent the live section, so i didn't even know this thread existed! i missed the poll, but after reading the whole thread, i agree with the spreadshirt decision . i especially LOVE the personalization option: now we don't have to worry about nametags and/or country flags! people can just put them directly on the shirt :D. i also breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when i saw there was a US store too :P. question, though: with using spreadshirt, do the profits still go to the CCC? will we still have one or two different shirt options to put the final design on (i'd probably want a girly-fitting shirt, personally, no matter what color the final design ends up being).

because i offered to help organize this whole project early in the game, jen has been in touch and we've talked a bit about how we think the whole deciding process should go from here on in. i think it should run like the postcards project logo was decided, since that went smoothly and fairly. this is what i think the plan is for now:

we'll advertise through the main page/emails/twitters that we're still looking for a few more designs until the end of the month (though i LOVE the ones that have already been proposed! i just say the more the merrier, and variety of options is always good :D). then, at the start of april, i'll/someone will start a new poll thread for people to vote on the designs. we're thinking the poll will stay open for most of the month of april so everyone gets a chance to vote, and then whatever has the most votes around the end of the month becomes our design . then the store(s) will be set up in the month of may, and we should be ready to roll in ordering starting in june! then everyone, even the procrastinators, can have all summer and a week or so in september to get their orders in before wembley :D. does that sound ok to everyone?

there's always one :P the US/Canada site doesn't do girlie shirts in the dark yellow, and I think its better to have the same basic colour. If everyone is happy to do so, we can have one in the UK/EU shop, and anyone who desperately wants a girlie shirt will have to find an EU buddy to source them one.

SueDeNimes has also agreed to be our technical advisor. The work she has done in sourcing Spreadshirt, and also putting some of the designs into practice has been awesome. :D

Now all that's left is for me to think about setting up the shops so we're ready to open once you guys have picked the Wembley 2009 design.

probably not, since we don't control the CCC and seem to be running out of ideas in trying to maintain regular contact with those who do

 and yes, after reading the whole thread and being in the other wembley ones off and on, i've seen all the work anna has done and all her great designs! she's been awesome :nice:

ian, do you think you could put something in the emails/facebook messages and twitters that we're looking for more designs (in this thread, i assume) until...march 31? are there any big general guidelines that should be posted somewhere? i assume the design needs to say "coldplaying" and "wembley" on it somewhere and that's it, right? anything else flies? i'd personally love to see lots of variety, though i LOVE what's already been posted too :D

hi again :D.

as far as i can tell, these are the main options we have so far

am i missing any major ones? i just want to try to keep track of what we have so i'm better organized when it's time to make a poll in april. so far, i count 5 major poll options (which i LOVE!), and i'm hoping we'll get more in :D. (and perhaps some that aren't yellow :uhoh:. sorry guys, i'm still of the opinion that yellow isn't a necessity :P)

i asked ian, and he says he'll advertise that we're looking for more designs by the end of the month. i wish i was more creative so that i could make one :disappointed:.

so far, #3 is my favorite :wacky:. i like the "WEMBLEY" big because it's awesome how the letters are so perfect to what's on the album covers

Oh I see Jen sent you my message!! :)

(and perhaps some that aren't yellow :uhoh:. sorry guys, i'm still of the opinion that yellow isn't a necessity :P)

Of course they could also look like this for example:

But I think it would be best to choose a colour that many others won't wear so we stand out in the crowd as much as possible!

And yellow shirts have such a nice double meaning :)

I did the previews so it is easier to imigine what the end result looks like.

All those design drafts could of course be used with different colours, but I prefer yellow.

It won't be the "colour of summer '09" so we'd be easy to spot in the masses!

I'm for yellow too, apart from anything else, yellow will stand out more than most other colours when it gets dark :)

I agree. :)

Yeay, so glad things are really starting to get organized:thumbsup:....love the plans for giving time suggestions, poll, etc etc etc. (I'm a planner so it totally makes sense!hehe)

And I've resigned myself to the idea of wearing yellow, now you wanna change it on me?!?!

Like you said SueDeNimes, it won't be "the color of summer '09"(or any summer :P) and will def stand out, and this being London, might be the only sunshine we might see LOL--

over 100 of us wearing bright yellow, we might blind the band!

Yellow is non-negotiable on the Wembley shirts :D That was the first thing the majority were ever in agreement one. Plus I think bright yellow is the colour that will stand out most, whilst also having a Coldplay relevance

I don't know if it was the same for all of you but I couldn't access the board for about an hour...

So I got bored and made this:

(I still prefer the other designs (#1 and #3 particularly, like you, Chelsea!!) but wanted to try a new approach to it...)

^i love this one too! :cheesy:. i love that it actually has wembley on it :wacky:

haha, and i'm resigned to yellow too, i'm just not as thrilled about it as everyone else :P. i'd wear a potato sack if that's what everyone agreed on :D

It doesn't really matter what colour we pick, I'll be so cold I am gonna have to wear a jumper anyways .
