Chris' crazy-weird dancing

Featured Replies

When did he start them? I look at some of the old, old vids of him and he's too terrified to basically move :P. When did he start all of his silly/weird/stupid/crazy dancing?

Discuss, I guess.

well, i'm not sure, but he probably started to move around more when he got more confident on stage in front of all those people.

jonny's done the same thing through the years. :D

O-o. He HAS?

Why does no one ever tell me these things? The camera's always trained on Chris, I guess, so it's hard to notice.

Wait, does he really? Isn't that hard with a guitar in the way and so on?

well, look at him back in like, the glastonbury concert in 2000.

he doesn't move like, at all.

now look at him at today's concerts. he's walking down the ramp, rocking out, dancing, i've even seen him jump a bit. :P

They have all become much more active on stage.Well especially Chris....

All I know is I like it:dance: I love the airplane move which I have dubbed (ChrisPlane), and when he stands in one place with his legs together and just moves in the one spot. Hmmm good stuff!!!

You can see some dancing in the 2003 DVD.

The "One I Love" performance pops up in my head right away. He has this dance move that I do, where he raises his arms up and kinda jumps, as if he's reaching for something in the sky, LOL. It's my favorite.

But the best has to be seeing him when he does those super limber yoga moves where he can bend down to the ground with ease and still sing his little heart out. Dear goodness gracious that is just pure eye candy, all the way.

I love his dancing during Yellow in the Live 2003 DVD. He's standing on one leg and hopping around in a circle. It's so weird, but it works!

You think Chris is dancing weird? :stunned: :surprised:

:D

Me too

love chris's dancing

it's a good kind've wierd.

like, a fucking awesome wierd.

!!

exaaaactly! :smug:

Chris's dancing is great as it's completely natural and un-choreographed.:smug:

love chris's dancing

Me tooo!!!

He's sooo great!

I think he first started on the Rush of Blood tour. He gave up guitar duties on Yellow (Matt played Chris' part) so he could jump about like a loon. And during In My Place he had the "climbing the ladder" dance. On X&Y tour, he added the whirlie twirlie dance. :D

Exactly.

The moment he puts down the guitar, he's anxiously looks for another way to entertain (apart from his voice that is). He's uncomfortable just standing and singing in place, so he compensates by sprinting, jumping, spinning and rolling around the stage. It started with In My Place because he didn't have an instrument to play in that song. And when he realized the audience got a bit more energized when he moved around a lot, he started doing the same thing in Yellow, and then most of X&Y...Unfortunately all that running gets him out of breath, and effects the quality of vocals. I much prefer him when he has an instrument in his hands.

Well the change isn't as noticeable as with Chris. But if you watch videos from back in 2000, Jonny hardly moves an inch, and just stands with his head down, even during the solos of spies and bigger stronger.

In AROBTTH he felt a lot more comfortable on stage, and started swaying to the music a bit. Like in one I love and the solo of AROBTTH from the live DVD.

Come X&Y he rocked out even more and now in the VLV he walks and even dances around the stage (often feeding off of Chris's energy) like in In My Place, Chinese Sleep Chant, Violet Hill, 42 etc.

Infinitely better than all that carefully synchronised and choreographed crap the likes of Wacko Jacko, Madonna and Trousersnake do.;)

I miss the climbing the ladder dance  He also doesn't twirl as much as he used to.

I would gladly see the Fix You/42 spaz out dance go though :P
