Article on Joanna Berryman and her Hampstead home

Featured Replies

Hmm, well thats good to hear I suppose.

I do think shes just using Guys fame to promote her own business and opening up about their relationship to make people more interested in her, but even though I see that ulterior motive she still seemed like a very genuinely nice lady...

:surprised: she has a nice bedroom, & it's great that they're still close... but it's also kind of sad to know that Guy probably payed for all of that :\

I guess he probably did as her shop (her first business) was reported in the papers to have closed down with big debts. I can't remember how much but it was a lot. But I guess that is just the way divorce is and he would have wanted his daughter to have a nice home to live in. I guess he also probably wants to keep Joanna happy. Better she's positive about the relationship than the other way - selling stories about the bad stuff.

She ran a fashionable clothing shop called Jezebell in London, until it was closed down following debts of more than £248,000.

so that's about half a million dollars. :\

o yah...i agree....it would be so bad if she was one of those girls who tells all the shit after they break up....:\:\ i would hate that......

Their divorce thing makes me think of my parents. They got divorced but still see each other A LOT.I mean don't I live at home anymore but we spend still holidays together once in a while, like Christmas. My parents talk quite often, mostly because of us but still they get along well. And my mum got the family dog but then my dad got another one but when my mum is away he gets to take care of both. It's weird but I like it that way. They can't be together all the time but at least they get along for the Nico's sake

I felt kind of awkward reading that. :\

^why?

I can see why they feel weird about reading it. It's a really personal article that goes into detail about Guy and Joanna's relationship. Knowing what we do about Guy being a VERY private person it's just strange to read it, even though was being nice and said they are on good terms it's just...odd :\

yes i guess that's true.

that's what I keep asking, but apparently it's just really bothersome to change your name. but if I ever got divorced I would change my name back.

Why is her last name still Berryman???

yah i've been wondering that. i used to think that it was because they were "separated" not divorced, but this article says they are divorced...

Maybe it's because of Nico. If her surname is Berryman, maybe Joanna feels funny changing her name back and having a different surname to her baby. That would be my guess. I think I'd feel a bit funny if it was my child.

The more I think about this article the more weird it feels... :( I hope she consulted with Guy before being so open about things so he's not shocked when people know so much , or when journalists refer to it... I know it's good publicity for her but I feel a bit sorry for him about it as he's more likely to have to deal with stupid questions about it.

yeah i agree i hope he isnt upset about some of the things she might have said that maybe he didnt want to be talked about to journalists, etc.

^why?

Sarah already summed it up nicely, but yeah. The guys go out of their way to keep their private lives private, so to read something that revealing, about Shy Guy no less, felt more than a bit weird to me.

But it is what it is. It's out there now - no taking it back.

Although it seems like it was an amicable divorce, I can't help but think that Nico was like an effort to save their relationship :(

That's true. I remember the article. But that 'friend' source wasn't named and could be anyone - or no one. Whilst it seems likely due to how soon after the birth they separated, it is still just speculation. It could just as easily been an accident that she got pregnant. I don't believe anything that the Mirror says unless it comes from a proper named source. They make a lot of stuff up to embellish a story.

No, I posted that becasue it seemed like Anniea? was basing that whole thought on that article that I'd read before. Which, you know, probably isn't the most credible of sources.

I know what you mean ;) I was just bashing the Mirror because they usually write horrible piles of trash! :P

Woah...I had no idea about that article. First time I'm reading that.

Really? I was certain you had. Especially cause you both used the word "amicable".

That's a pretty commong word though. So... you know, I guess I shouldn't assume :P
