Article on Joanna Berryman and her Hampstead home

Sorry if I offend anyone, I really don't intend to, there have been a few nice comments but most of it sounds like you're all "Jo bashing" to me. I think she is a beautiful, cool chick. Yes some of her taste is a little "off the wall" but everyone likes different things don't they, and clearly Guy likes her taste as he's asked her to decorate his home for him.

I always thought most women that are divorced kept their married names, certainly all the divorcees that I know have, and why shouldn't she keep it, it's legally her name.

Carla, it's Jo's birthday this month so she's now 31.

^ tnx peardoor, maybe she was still 29 when they just got divorced and it just got a little mixed up...

woah. :stunned:

they're really both synonyms for prostitutes? weird.

well I;m not completely sure, it's a hear/say thing. I think they're both the kind of names where if you translate it in one language it'll be something like holy virgin mary or whatever and into another it means something like prostitute or devlish woman.. i dunno..

*how long is she going to be 30? she was 30 here and still 30 in this article? :inquisitive:

Well that's from The Mirror, so I highly doubt that it's factual. And this current one is an interview where they probably asked her straight out how old she was.

I don't think anyone is bashing her. I think people are more surprised than disliking her. I think most people were just very surprised at how candid she was about their relationship during an interview. Guy has always been very private about his personal life so people were not expecting something so candid (it's that word again!)

Also, it should be said that Joanna has made the decision to go public about their relationship and to open up her personal space to the media in order to promote her business. As a result she will have to accept that people are going to give their opinion on her style and choice of decor. It's not bashing her -that's just part of being a stylist or interior designer. Some people will like her style and some people will inevitably hate it. The people on this forum are no different and should be free to say whether they like her style or not, just as they can about any interior designer or magazine show home. She's using the media to promote herself and therefore I don't think she can expect no feedback from it.

Sadly the same applies to their relationship. By being so candid about the details of their divorce to the media she has opened it up to speculation. Whilst the whole interview may not have been published, or she didn't intend so much detail to be printed may be true, but she's an adult who knows how the media works (she's seen the whole Chris/Gwyneth thing) and she knows that whatever she says in an interview is then available to print. She has chosen to 'go public' with some details and so is clearly not against it being out there. It's crazy to think that people aren't going to read that and have some opinion about it, whatever it may be.

Anyway, my main point was that I really don't think people are bashing her as a person.

Whatever. I don't think the details are that in depth anyways? Her and Guy still get along... what's wrong with saying that?

It would be a different story if she went out and said... "Guy's a dick.. I hate him" or whatever.

I don't think this really matters... he's not THAT famous anyways. I don't think any reporters are gonna be approaching him and being "So I heard you had dinner with your ex-wife". That's not really a story, is it?

I know they're not in depth details but you know what those Coldplay boys are like about their personal lives - Chris can't even say the word 'Gwyneth' in an interview!

Lol yeah, but that's Chris.

I've never seen any of the other guys get particularly fed up with talking about their personal lives.

They don't get cross like Chris but they generally just don't do it. I guess maybe they just don't get asked that much. They sometimes mention having kids and how that's impacted on their lives, but no detail. Which is good i guess ;)

Yup. They seem to jump in and take the kids questions too though, cause Chris won't touch them. He'll climb out a window or whatever. :P

the skull scares me... Nico might have nightmares because of that picture:uhoh:
I know, right? :stunned:

I like her taste overall, there's just some artifacts/accesories that I dislike (for instance, the skull over fireplace)

Yeah, that's why I didn't comment about the personal details she said on the interview because I don't think they were deep or controversial or shocking. I agree with Prospekt :)

for some reason i found that funny  i have no idea why i just started laughing! :P

We don't know how they are like about their private lives. Guy doesn't get ask those questions in the first place cause nobody in the press is interessted anyways.

Hardly anybody will even read those articels as they are not in the yellowpress but in specifi magazines.

I wonder what is worst...Jo "interview" or happily posting pap pictures from Chris Kids when they are clearly upset???

P.

Interesting, great find Mich!! :nice:

She seems nice but it's weird how we always get more in dept details of Guy's life/home/divorce everytime she's starting a new bussiness

It's good she keeps trying though, anyone on her place would just keep living from her ex' earnings but she keeps trying to have something of her own. Gotta respect that. :nice:

Plus it's nice that they have a good relationship :nice: Better for everyone involved.

And on her place.... i like it, though i think i'd get rid of more than half of all that crap on her walls, starting with the dead animals :\ The person(s) that get to clean that place must hate her fashionable clutter!! i know i would :P

And i actually like the skull picture..... i always have :uhoh:

well it looked like she was holding a baby on the bed....and Nico is a what almost 3 years old now.... i wonder who that baby is then....

and ya...the huge skull picture is kind of creepy......idk not my choice esp. if i had a lil girl in the house, i imagine that huge Skull pictures would scare Nico.....

but i guess if joanna likes it...............its her house to decorate

Those pictures were taken from two different articles. If you look at the cover of the agazne closely, you'll see that the date is March 2007. I guess those pictures were in the old house that Guy and Jo shared together. Obviously the pics of baby Nico were from back then too. The pics in which Jo is wearing blue jeans are from 2009.

Here is a more detailed look into the newest article:

That's not the most child-friendly house...even though there is Elmo in the last picture ;)....although now that I think about it there is cactus next to it

The first pic of this article is really the outside of her home?

 weird.

When we lived just outside of London several years ago, I was surprised how different the houses looked on the inside...much different that I expected, coming from having lived in California my whole life, especially the master planned neighborhoods that seem to have taken over. I've seen the outside of Chris's house, too, and it does not look anything like I expected, either...

"...he’d rather be on his computer than in a family household. That was never his thing."

sounds like we have something in common. :wacky:
