Au Contraire, Its a very innocent pleasure, and not the least bit catastrophic. Scrubbing ice whilst chucking a piece of granit ?? I wouldn't put it quite so eloquently as that, but yes, that is the main idea. Can't you do that in your driveway in the winter?
