FUCK THE SAT'S THREAD!

Featured Replies

I didn't like taking it even that one time. GOSH.

Did you have to write an essay on your's?

The SAT is a bit of a joke. I think you get a more accurate idea of your intelligence from taking one of those online IQ tests.

Yeah the SAT and ACT's only measure your ability to take the SAT or ACT's, which goes for something I guess. But by no means does it, or is it intended to measure one's intelligence.

While I'm more of a linguist, I actually did much better on the ACT's. What was your essay about?

They get you to take it a second time just so they make more money; we discussed this in Psychology the other day.

I don't hate the SAT's though. If it weren't for them, I'd have a tough time getting into a nice school.

True, true. Although with me it didn't really matter, since I ended up staying at home for college. W00t.

Come on!Guy!You should take it easy, nothing gonna make you angry except yourself

oh dude seriously fuck the SATs. I went up 100 points when I took it the second time, but it was still annoying and horrible and life-ruining.

i took the act april 4. what joy that was! i was ready to rip my hair, & now i have to take it again in june b/c i was so stressed out that day i totally fucked up.

our act coach told us that they specifically design the act & sat to keep students out of college & make scholarships hard to attain. wtf they're such bastards. 35 minutes to read 4 1000 word passages & answer 40 questions about them, & 60 minutes to do 60 math problems?!!!

i was gonna do a thread like this, but i didn't learn how until like a week ago

this is true.

I have to take them next year... I'm not excited. My mom has me signed up for summer preparation classes.

Been there, done that.

Took it 3 times, actually. (Feb, May, Nov)

The second time I scored the lowest.

Third time, I kicked ass. Got a score high enough to get two scholarships at the local university I go to

Take the ACT.

Didn't prepare for it at ALL, and got a 27. I still wonder how that happened.

Now, I have to take the GRE.

Oh, crap.

I'm assuming the Sats your on about are different to the Sat tests british school kids have to sit when they are in year 6 and in year 9.

Tests are only a reflection on how well you did on that day, have an 'off-day' and it's ruined.

How are you all studying for the SATs? What prep books are you using? Are they affective?

^ I didn't study at all, and I still managed a 1310. SO IDK. :P

Yeah fuck em, fuck the SATs, I dont even know what they are just that its one of those American things I dont understand, like a twinkie.

What's not to understand about a Twinkie? :inquisitive:

I know right, what's not to understand about an Asian that emulates a white person lifestyle?

Oh wait...you mean that twinkie...

Of course that's what I meant. :p

It's a nationwide standardized test in the United States. It's supposed to measure your capability to function in college.
