That song has made me cry, too. But....pretty much because of the scene from "Beaches" that it is being played over. It just reminds me of that movie.

Surprisingly, the songs that make me cry are not really sad : they're mostly songs about seeing beauty where or when you should be pissed at life :

She Came Home For Christmas - Mew (It's a song about sexual abuse, and quite beautiful and sad)

There are three different versions of the song and two diferent music videos. It's on their first three albums A Triumph for Man, Half the World is Watching Me and Frengers. It's slightly different on the first two. On Frengers it sounds most different. But in the ATFM version the meaning of the song is most clear.
