I had to go nearly 4 minutes into the song before I heard bits of VLV, however, it seems there are LOTS of songs that sound similar to VLV, so how come Cat Stevens isn't suing Satriani for using that same chord structure, or Enanitos Verdes, or Creaky Boards.

 

This is getting ridiculous. It's all because those people want money. They see Coldplay as a huge cash cow and they wanna milk it. Greed.

I think its a designed thing. Joe's one and Yusuf's one are similiar to Viva La Vida but if you search more deeper Joe's track is similiar to another track And to discussing this is very unnecessary. They dont want Coldplay's success. Its the aim of who envies Coldplay. But They cant be successfull because they dont know to be a Coldplayer...

It really sounds nothing like it....even if it did sound the same (which it doesn't), big deal? SO many songs use the same chord progressions. Look at this YouTube video, it's 30+ songs using the same chords.

 

Sidenote, that video is very good. I think I recognise one of the comedians in it too.
