November 27, 200619 yr yeah right..and coldplay has no right to say anything* don't be naive.. for god sake RH was also under EMI's contract and yet they even fighted and got the war since they didn't want to make some videos..the only thing they didn't want to do and did cus the company says so was while the first album was airing, like 12 years ago.
November 27, 200619 yr It's EMI/Parlophone that don't respect the fans' date=' the stupid assholes, they could at least explain why there isn't a DVD. Hmm, maybe I'll phone them up, anybody else tried this?[/quote'] ^Yeah fair enough it's not the band directly who've made this strange decision (well as far as we know), but obviously none of them have pushed for EMI/Parlephone to give us fans an explanation, which is what dissapoints me the most. :\ Scratching around for news but that's just the timing. I'm disappointed there is no news on the non-DVD however. A proper explanation is all we want. Agreed? Agreed. When I got the email announcing this e-zine I thought we might finally have some mention of why a DVD won't be made. But nothing. :dozey: I just think it's really disrespectful and well....just not very nice, to not even give any kind of small explanation for something which they know has really dissapointed most of their fans.
November 27, 200619 yr yeah totally, an explanation or something would have been good. Not just to say "yeah, it's due for release end of October"........"actually, no we've changed our minds. We're not releasing it at all"......!!!! And I don't know about anyone else but I fooking HATE this whole surprise thing! I feel like we're all scrounging about trying to find info while the powers that be sit in their offices counting their money and laughing at us. :\ If (by some miracle) the surprise does turn out to be the DVD I'll be pissed off [but of course, happy as well :laugh3: ] that they've kept us going like this. I feel like I'm being treated like a bloody 5 year old waiting for Christmas! :veryangry:
November 27, 200619 yr I'd say it's quite a stretch to say Coldplay doesn't care about their fans for not giving a reason. If they didn't care they wouldn't even bother doing these little silly surprises, like Away Day and Nappies and the 2004 Xmas cheer.. not every band does things like that. I don't hold the lack of DVD info agaisnt them. It seems as if something went wrong either in the filming or production or somewhere in the process, because no one even knows when they'll be broadcasting it. It makes no sense that the DVD is perfect, there and ready to go and Coldplay/EMI just don't feel like releasing it and on top of that, lingering to give a broadcast date. To me it seems like something went wrong and it's not in the best interest of the fans to know the details. Or else we would've known them by now.
November 27, 200619 yr Tania's right. Unfortunately for the fans, there's alot more to being in the music business than just being 4 guys playing good music.THere are alot of details fans dohn't know about. If we want to scrounge around and try to find out what they're up to, that's our choice...but they're not 'making us'. Alot of artists don't have the time or money to release extras for their fans. Lucky for us, Coldplay does. I say we take what we get and be grateful.:D
November 28, 200619 yr ^That's what I've been thinking about ever since the start of the petition and everything. Coldplay and Emi know how good it would be if they released a DVD and they knew how many DVDs would be sold. It's not like they just don't feel like releasing it. It's because something happened while filiming or they made a mistake on the DVD and they know that if they released it it would cause trouble/commotion/chaos.
November 28, 200619 yr I don't believe that there's going to be any surprise at all.. I mean they said that they were going to air the Toronto concert on tv and then they said no..and then yes and then that it was going to come out on the dvd and then no and yes and no..yes and no.. and if it's like Tania said then they shouldn't have said that it was going to be broadcasted if it wasn't ready. Anyway, I'll believe it when I have it on my hands.. and if the surprise is what some of you think then not that it's bad..I'll be happy for you guys but how is that supposed to be a surprised for everybody else if we can't go?:dozey:
November 28, 200619 yr i totally appreciate that in the past they have done these really nice little things for the fans which a lot of other bands wouldn't take the time to do. It just seems that within this past year they're becoming increasingly detached from the fans. Personally I just feel like the small indie band I once knew is moving farther and farther away and it's the record company doing the majority of the moving. it's a shame they seem to have become victims of their own success :0(
November 28, 200619 yr Have any of you stopped to think that the band may actually have been thinking of the fans when they decided to air the footage on tv instead of on a DVD? Whilst most of us can afford to buy a DVD and would be happy to - some people can't and would totally miss out on the performance. By putting it on TV allows the majority of people to see and record it, not just those who have £15.99 to spend on a DVD... Everyone is so outraged about not being able to buy it, when some people might just be grateful they get to see it at all... If you want something to rewatch, then record it. If you can't get the tv channel then get it off the internet - that's where it will end up way. Either way, think about the people who might not be able to afford to buy a DVD then question how terrible the boys are for putting it on public tv... maybe then we can finally stop going on about this and accept their decision... :(
November 28, 200619 yr why have you heard any news of this TV broadcast that everyone else hasn't? I'd be quite happy with that but there's been no mention of it since we first found out about it.
November 28, 200619 yr it said Auckland was in Australia.... I know, you think they would get the facts. Makes them look a bit silly :D
November 28, 200619 yr I can't believe Debs had the nerve to run an interview with Penny and not ONE frickin new porn pic of the boys. What is Penny's function... to give us camera ideas?...fuckin hell no, it's to supply the pics!!! We all know the woman is sitting a huge pile of porn and she couldn't throw us a few crumbs! BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!:furious3:
November 28, 200619 yr lol angie you crack me up! and sorry cpfan. was just reading that back and was a bit harsh! I didn't mean to have a go at you! XX

I wish I didn't, but I do. :sad2: and LMFAO Angie that's hillarious :laugh3: ....but actually very true! Talk about hogging the goods!
May 16, 200917 yr Hello, I found CP E-zines 1-18 (which I believe is all of them) and wanted to share them in case anyone wanted them. You can d/l them from the link below. Through rapidshare, it says it can only be d/l'd 10 times. So once it expires, feel free to add it back for anyone else who may want it! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J8U2YL3E [thanks SueDeNimes] While searching for all the CP E-zines the other day (which I found on their "old" official site), it was interesting to see that pages from their "old" official site are still very much out there. Check 'em out! http://www.coldplay.com/fan/home.html (All of the subpages listed above are still active here, too!) http://www.coldplay.com/fan/profile.html (Check out how young they look here!) http://www.coldplay.com/html/ezine.shtml http://www.coldplay.com/fan/media.html
