ah :D of course it is... but as a songwriter Chris is better. I mean Matt's lyrics can be sometimes preposterous (Knights of Cydonia for example).

Whatever the matter, I don't think Coldplay's musical style allows them to "show off" on their instruments as much as it does Muse. For Muse, it fits, but with Coldplay... not so much.

 

I love both bands, but I'm looking to be amazed, headbang, or have my mind blown, I listen to Muse. If I'm looking to think, calm down and relax, or reminisce, I listen to Coldplay.

 

Again, with sheer talent, Matt wins.

Clocks is ridiculously easy to play on piano. It's about nine notes. I can play it and I basically don't know jack squat about piano.

 

The way he plays it live is pretty skilled, tho. And coming up with something as catchy as Clocks is impressive.

Anyway. I know that I'm totally biased in this question, but Matt is just amazing at everything. Particularly piano. "Piano Thing" has got to be three of the nicest minutes of piano ever written.

chris is chris, but matthew plays guitar so bloody well, even being the singer! and masters piano too.

 

i prefer chris, but the most talented here is matthew, i think.
