You go girls !!

I'm sorry I just can't vote and choose between my friends :\

Oh Perrine, just choose the best writing...you don't really have to consider your friends as this is a competition about who writes better ;)

Yeah I know... but since I'm not english I can't really see which one has the best writing :\

Exactly! :)

It should be about the writing not about who's friends with who ... :\

And therefore this whole voting will fail its actual purpose, but that's just my opinion, I guess ...

^Why? Who do you think deserves to win, truthfully?

^Why? Who do you think deserves to win, truthfully?

It's not about WINNING, but about representing the forum best.

And I've already mentioned who my faves were and why.

^I hadn't seen that. I will go back and have a look....ah yes seen it. For the record mine wasn't written specifically for this comp. I just wanted to put my experience in writing before I'd even heard of this comp.

I know Kirsten, that's why I didn't vote :P

I haven't voted either, well not yet ;)

But honestly speaking, I am not so sure whether I will give my vote at all. :(

I'm pretty sure I won't give it... my english is just not good enough to choose the best written review, and so I should choose between people I love equally... :\

Thanks Far (Zeya), Kirsten (LittleMissMessy), worldtrav and Pris for your kind words. And thanks to the 2 people who voted for me. I'm @ the bottom of the table, but still

I know it's difficult to choose, because everyone only has 1 vote and there are so many ace entries. May the best submissions win.

Important Reminder!!

Seeing this thread at the moment, I guess many users didn't read the 'small print' :( (= terms of condition by Absolute Radio).

People (only some btw.) just pointed out that they voted, but not whom for or why!

May I quote Jen from her first post in the stories entries thread:

We need to see that your live stories are a true forum effort, so make sure plenty of your forum users contribute to a lively discussion in the forum thread you submit with your entry.

There we go ...

So where are all the users who voted so far? :stunned:

Which story stood out for you and WHY!??

Would be great to get some sort of discussion going on the last few days, otherwise I don't see much of a chance for the forum to win this competition.

wait, so you guys are talking about whose review was the "most well-written".....i thought we were supposed to vote for who had the best experience, not who was able to write the best. am i wrong?

Yeah...you kinda misunderstood the purpose of the competition..

The purpose is to choose the best written review so that the winner can then compete with writers from othe forums..

Then the winner of all the forums will then go to a concert of his/her choice and will have to write a review for the show that that person has attended..

ohhhh ok got it. thanks

No worries..

Good luck voting ;)

mh, I still haven't voted will decided guess today or tomorrow however I think it's a bit "strange" or "sad" that we it seems that we can't discuss about something like that (5 pages come on) but there are endless discussion how certain members look currently.......

Personally I will try and vote for a well written experience which comes straight from the heart and where I actually get the feeling of have been there myself.

I personally don't think it should be voted on sympathie, or either in how many hotels I have spoken to servel members of the band.

P.

Yeah I think we really should start to discuss the reviews and why we favour some and not the rest...

I personally prefer shorter reviews (although myself has written an awfully long ones) which are precise and to the point but without leaving the important details.

I also prefer those reviews which are more of like a review written for publications with interesting words being put in here and there rather than reviews which are written with colloquial style. I know it's hard to find one without any colloquial language used, so I chose the one which used less than the others..

As the winner is representing this forum, I think it is wise to choose the kind of review that will reflect these criteria ;)

I am there with Zeya :)

I prefer reviews which are more classic style. Of course 'meeting the band' can be part of it as well ... to some extend.

But if they get too long and maybe a bit 'too detailed' I could figure that the judges at Absolute Radio wouldn't bother reading them or taking them in the final draw, but of course little do I know.

It's a bit sad that it seems (some) people only voted to choose 'the best experience' as this is so very relative. A fantastic experience to one person can be a boring one to another.

So what do you consider being the 'best experience' then? Meeting the band?

I thought this was more about the concert, about the circumstances of getting there and the whole anticipation waiting for the concert date to arrive?

I already stated my fave stories, but I haven't voted yet as it's hard to decide which one I want to represent this forum.

All my fave stories have one thing in common though.

That music is a very important thing in life, that it can cross borders and connect people and make your sometimes shitty life a little bit brighter :)

I personally when considering who to vote for also looked more favorably on the shorter entries because they weren't as daunting a task to read through and the best written which more often than not turned out to be the most thought out story. Though I of course will be supporting and voting for whichever entries from this forum are submitted I hope others are considering what might impress the Absolute people the most when they see these stories versus those of other forums. Just because people here, coldplay fans, think someones story is amazing and will look past the lol's and omg's and blatant spelling errors doesn't mean others will do the same.

The contest did not get enough advertising for a discussion. I only found out about it on the last day we could submit our entries. (this might have to do with the fact that I'm on the board so often anymore, but still :P) Only one tweet, if I recall, from coldplaying to encourage people to vote.

About the way to decide for which story to vote, yes it should be about the writting and the way we can relate to the experience the most! And keep in mind that it will represent the forum..

And I'm sad to see that we will look like a bunch of stalking fangirls ! I can tell, there's nothing wrong about a bit of stalking and some fangirlyness (I'm one of the first ones here), but I dont think this is what the Absolute judges are looking for (is also why I cut off big parts of my review which I wrote back in October).

I think the best ones aren't getting the votes they deserve, and are sadly at the bottom of the table, as Min nicely put.

And so about my favorites.

I love upgrade stories, so one of my first choices would be justjess. That is real Coldplay karma ! And I'm so glad you didn't sell your ticket.

The Angie has to be in the game! her whole record of shows is the true live experience. Everybody here should look up to her, well I do :D And I'm gonna bow down to her at Wembley ! As someone said, the fact that she chose another tour is great.. love the review, because I envy everybody who saw them before Viva and is true Coldplay arent the same anymore, they're big boys now.

Min's story is great. Is awesome how roadies can make your experience even better. It's not part of what she's telling but she saw Coldplay 6 times in a month. That's love! And I can very much relate to that myself :D

Malcolm did a very good job in writting a great live review! I really like it. And his reply to his dad comment about U2 is such a good conclusion !

Jizo deserves a +10 for his conclusion as well!

these are my top faves, and I know I can only vote once. May I give some of my votes away to them ? :P I know.. I shall respect people who chose to vote for my story (and hopefully not only because it's me) !

Oh...I didn't know we should discuss our choices!

Thanx for pointing that out, Kirsten.

Well, I voted for TheAngie's entry, because I just loved her story, the way she wrote it & how her story shows the anount of success Coldplay have reached since their AROBTTH tour.

& another reason, IMO if anyone should represent Coldplaying, it should be Angie, cuz she always surprises me, not with the amount of concerts she's been to, but with the amount of enthusiasm she has at each & every Coldplay concert she goes to.

Good luck to everyone else.

@ Chavi

Girl, you've put it just perfectly! Just miles better than I ever could!

The thing which bugs me the most is the fact, that the stories should represent this forum and I totally agree with you Chav, that some stories make us all look like some crazy and over the top fangirls :(

But the majority speaks and if it's to embarrass this whole forum, then so be it. :(

Okay, I better leave this place now, as I see no point anymore ...

Thanks for the kind words Chavi. :) I'm glad I didn't sell my ticket either! ;)

And thanks to the 7 people who have voted for me! It means a great deal!!!

And my vote went to Strawberryfields.

I just loved the writing style and the use of such strong and vivid words! I felt like I was there!
