## ABSOLUTE RADIO LIVE STORIES - PLEASE VOTE FOR DAVID SHEPPARD IN THE FINAL NOW! ##

I feel really bad :(

I was so busy up to the point of this competition and I submitted mine right b4 I left for a few days. So I basically just submitted my review of my DC show the way I wrote it on here in the Live Section. Its basically the same. So no, I should of read the guidelines more closely and should of submitted a well written reivew instead of just hurrying and submitting a non professional review.

My review is NOT well written and I should of wrote it more professionally. And Im sorry if it sounds really fangirlish...like I said, its the same review that I wrote to tell my friends on here about my show when I came back. Im sorry, but I really didnt even think I would go on to the next round, I just thought I might as well submit it. But then not as many ppl entered this contest as I thought they were going to be.

And I know that if these are going on to another place, my story and the way it was written is not the best representation of Coldplaying.com.

If anything I feel bad, bc Min or Zeya, or Angie or Lucy should be representing Coldplaying.com instead of mine.

So Jen you can take my reivew off, if you still can. I know that there are better reviews on here than mine and I feel bad now from reading everyone's review and hearing what everyone has to say, i dont want to take votes away from anymore of the actually good/ well written reivews on here.

From what I have read of the reviews Min, Zeya, Angie, Lucy, Emma or Chris are better off at representign Coldplaying.com than I am so its better to vote for them I think.

to liz: is it a possibility that if you make it to the next round that you could rewrite yours in more sophisticated way? just because you didnt realize they were supposed to be properly written doesnt mean that you couldnt write a great one and dont deserve a chance. you shouldnt have to pull out of the contest. im just saying that if you make it maybe you'll have time to shape it up? or is that not a possibility? anyone know?

I'm not sure what the rules would be for pulling out, but the nominated would stand as Chavi, lucyb123, justjess and strawberryfields.

I am there with Zeya :)

I prefer reviews which are more classic style. Of course 'meeting the band' can be part of it as well ... to some extend.

But if they get too long and maybe a bit 'too detailed' I could figure that the judges at Absolute Radio wouldn't bother reading them or taking them in the final draw, but of course little do I know.

It's a bit sad that it seems (some) people only voted to choose 'the best experience' as this is so very relative. A fantastic experience to one person can be a boring one to another.

So what do you consider being the 'best experience' then? Meeting the band?

I thought this was more about the concert, about the circumstances of getting there and the whole anticipation waiting for the concert date to arrive?

I already stated my fave stories, but I haven't voted yet as it's hard to decide which one I want to represent this forum.

All my fave stories have one thing in common though.

That music is a very important thing in life, that it can cross borders and connect people and make your sometimes shitty life a little bit brighter :)

Mess, you are awesome, hands down. Bulls-eye.

The contest did not get enough advertising for a discussion. I only found out about it on the last day we could submit our entries. (this might have to do with the fact that I'm on the board so often anymore, but still :P) Only one tweet, if I recall, from coldplaying to encourage people to vote.

About the way to decide for which story to vote, yes it should be about the writting and the way we can relate to the experience the most! And keep in mind that it will represent the forum..

And I'm sad to see that we will look like a bunch of stalking fangirls ! I can tell, there's nothing wrong about a bit of stalking and some fangirlyness (I'm one of the first ones here), but I dont think this is what the Absolute judges are looking for (is also why I cut off big parts of my review which I wrote back in October).

Also agree. Although fangirlyness was always going to happen, I suppose...

Hm. How about we spread the word, then? To vote and discuss best written. Personally I'm gonna go through my friends list and leave a message about voting closing soon and to vote for whom they think best. Of course, this'll probably fail because people think I'll be fishing votes, but it's worth a shot.

dFREAKIN'p, I seem to be getting a lot of them recently

interesting discussion.

Absolute's blurb says "It could be anything connected to live music; the time you watched a David Bowie gig from backstage, or got lost at Glastonbury and discovered Tibetan throat singing for example."

Anyone who has submitted an entry deserves to be in the voting. They took the time and effort to put together their entries for the competition, so why shouldn't they be there?

To me the competition is about demonstrating your love of seeing a band live, and that's always going to be a subjective thing. What makes me overwhelmed, bores someone else to tears and vice versa. I know many people who don't understand when I rave about the War Child gig, and what an amazing time I had.

There are a variety of different angles across all 13 reviews, so if the fangirl reviews are coming out on top, does that not say more about the people who have voted so far? Its only 88 people out of however many thousands of members we have.

Good point Jen.

Soooo how do we get all the other 1000's of memebers in here to vote?!

main page article reminding them of the contest, when it ends and that it could possibly not only help the people who win but also help the forum as a whole? Unless there already was one..well either way a reminder might help. A lot of people are more "whats in it for me?" so they might need a bit of a reminder.

There's only been one new vote since yesterday afternoon.

Hmmm, I can spam everyone's profiles... :idea2:

That was what I was going to do, Emmytwin! @_@

Fine. I shall try and spammich people too, to get moar votes.

EDIT - Done. Around 70 people will probably be flapping gums angrily at me, but oh well.

hey, cobalt acquired me today, so i carefully read all entries, which ended up me being torn into pieces deciding, which review i "felt" the most.

there was a tight race between 'walkyfre's' ( which is second place. it's precise and very well written. just the description of the actual gig could have been a bit more elaborate, imho. stylewise it' s my number 1!)

so i decided to give my vote for 'strawberryfields' text. i did like the atmosphere she created, it pretty much summed up what i felt, when i saw coldplay last year.

wish you guys and the board good luck! :)

This is sooooooooooooo hard I loved reading them all!!!!! I am really drawn to the amazing fate story of the girl who won the tickets to go to Perth and meet the band etc, really well written and I found myself laughing sooooooooooooo much, I really felt the girls enthuisiasm. I also loved how even though they were crazy about the band they were still able to hold some respect for the band;s privacy, well almost lol!!!! Then I could not stop reading Jengies acounts, beautifully written, I love how she expresses the atmosphere in the venue, the roaring crowds and musicxxxI especially loved the two roadies and playing the games, absolutely fantastic and just reflects more of what this band is all about. Thanksxxx

So does the poll close at 2:03pm...whose time zone?! haha.

If it's mine- then we only have 3 hours to votttte! Ill go spam some people!!!

and @janturner--- who is Jengie?! it kinda sounded like you were referring to my story- but I'm not sure! If so, thank you!!! :) :)

Good luck to whoever wins, you all deserve it :D :D!!

(And thanks to the people who voted for mine  much appreciated).

How long until the voting is closed??

2 hours 45 minutes I think.

If we're going for US time...right?!

I dunno- me is confused!

Hopefully everyone that wants to vote, gets their bootys in here! :D

A final--- GOOD LUCK everyone!

I took a long time to decide on who I was going to vote, it was so hard to choose. I loved Chavi's and strawberryfield's entries a lot as well.

But I eventually voted for Malcolm-Edge. I love his writing style, and he has a great story and concert experience too.

Thanks for those who have voted so far...For me or the others ;)

2 hours 45 minutes I think.

Thankies :nice:

i think janturner got confused because Jen (Jenjie) posted all the stories so they probably saw that next to the story that they liked best and thought she wrote it.

good job to all the people that voted and to everyone who submitted.

goodluck!

congrats to the 4 finalists!

Okay, okay, GMT is Greenwich Mean Time.

It's currently 7:13 pm there.

And the post on the front page of coldplaying says it closes at 8pm.

So approx. 45 minutes left, or so.

Good luck all.
