Chris has mention the release of a new album buy this time in several interviews including the Steve Lamaq one. But still it seems that people are saying that they're going to take a looong break after the Wembly gig.

Well when Chris was saying those things last year I don't think he'd expected the tour to go on as long as it has.

 

There's absolutely no way we'll have a new LP by December I'm afraid, they've been in the studio maybe three times in the past year and are booked up solid until at least September.

I highly doubt it.

That clears up the sky for me.

I really hope for a prospekt update as soon as they enter the studio.

i DEFINITELY don't plan on a new album by december. chris had mentioned the possibility of the christmas lights song though. we'll just have to wait and see :wink:

I don't think we'll get a new album by Christmas this year. Coldplay have barely been in the studio, there's no way that a new album can be written, recorded, mixed, and printed in four months.

 

The new album will probably come out sometime next year. I imagine they'll start writing/recording later this year, and we'll get a Spring or Summer 2010 release date.

I heard they filmed in Vancouver a couple weeks back. That's definetly on my wish list - tour DVD!

if they make a tour DVD its going to be Wembly or Vancouver. The next album won't be out until next year at least.

to be honest i dont want a new album...if they do then its going to be rushed...maybe we'll here a couple of new songs here and there but not a whole album!

I'm betting on a 2011 release. Based on their track record I don't think there's a chance of it happening any sooner. They are always full of ambitious talk, that seldom comes to fruition. Mark my words, Chris will hit the studio, and suddenly be sure everything they've done is crap, and the process will drag on from there.

I definitely think that should take time with the new album.. I know it's going to be probably at least two years, it's going going to be agony not seeing them live but I know once the new album is out, they will be touring again :D

I am hoping that a new album will be a Christmas present...for next year! I think that is enough time.
